Magnolia wasn’t sure when it began, but it was definitely when she was nine. Or more so, when he appeared nine. It was pretty simple, really. Make friends, play with friends, be confused as to why said friends grew up, wait for new friends to come by, and they’d repeat the process over and over and over again. Sure, it sucked, but Hermione (9-year-old Magnolia) had been so used to it, she just shrugged it off if it began to bother her. Halfway through though, Hermione began to make ‘disguises’. Ruby, Scarlet, Jane, Jamie, altering her hair, name, mannerism. It was boring to just be Hermione while the kids around her were different from the ones she first knew. Plus, wouldn’t it be suspicious if she remained the same all these years? Eventually though, it had led to Hermione trying too hard for people that weren’t going to remember her. It was…boring, and gosh, wasn’t she a bit desperate? Hermione stopped after a while, deciding human relations were simply too much. Plus, she had [Light], so that was enough!
And then [She] wasn’t there anymore. Which was really, really bad. Like super duper bad. Mainly because Hermione was going to see [Luz] and then boom, blood everywhere and pieces strewn about. ‘Holy shit-‘ Hermione whispered, not being able to believe her eyes.
Anyways, Magnolia tried not to pay much attention to that. The point was, humans? Sucked. All of them. Even her. Even if he wasn’t really ‘human’, even all those non-humans who tried to be ‘humans’. But like, even if the majority of them sucked, they were 100% sure she’d cry a LOT if his island ever did overflow with water and they all died.
That's actually where her fear of water came from. He knew they weren’t like, entirely immortal or mortal. ‘The health of a nation depends on its people’ and all that stuff. ‘A house divided cannot stand together’ or whatever Abraham Lincoln from Earth said. If the economy fell then she knew he’d be sick, and if the nation flooded…well, they didn’t try and think of that much. It was like, unnecessarily depressing. Plus she held to the belief that everything his dad has ever done as reinforcements is enough.
(Let’s ignore how Rkeyntarcriacia has lost most of the cultural land that they have never quite gotten around to recovering despite the promises made by Mags.)
