December 28 10:23 am

Edgeworth's House

Front door

The man with the spiky hair ran up to the door, knocking calmly, he was out of patience ofcourse, the man on the other side of the door never answered the door quickly whenever he was here.

Wright sighed, crossing his arms and tapping his feet on the ground like a generic idle animation, waiting for the other man, it wasn't that cold outside but he still buried his hands in his pockets. "Cmon edgeworth.. why do i have to wait for you everytime.."

The man opened the door finally, holding a cup of tea that was probably a very unhealthy way to have breakfast, he was a little shocked as he saw the attorney standing on his front porch, he wasnt used to seeing him without his formal clothes, even the times they went out for drinks he usually wore his signature blue fit, come to think of it, he wasnt sure if he ever saw the attorney in any color other than blue..

The cool air hit him in the face making him groan a little bit, he took a sip of his tea.." Oh.. hey Wright, did you- need anything?"

He smiled, "Yea actually, I have a suprise for you~" he said with a cheerfull way

The prosecuters shoulders slumped, " I.. I can't today.. I don't want to go out.. I don't feel like having fun today.."

Wright's smile faded a tiny bit, "Oh come on, you will like it I promise"

He got annoyed but couldnt blame him, this hell of a day probably didn't mean anything to him,"I can't wright- You probably didn't realize but.. It's my fathers death anniversary.. It feels disrespectfull to go out and enjoy myself today"

Now he wasn't smilling at all, "I know actually, It's kind of the reason im here"

Edgeworth turned his gaze away, " I said I can't Wright-"

But he was stubborn, "Please? You wont regret it I promise, getting some fresh air will probably help too"

"If you were planing to go to the cemetery, he was cremated, He's already here"

He was getting frustrated, he wasn't willing to give up. "Just this time please? Can't I really get you to do something for once.." he tilted his head forward

The prosecuter found him kind of adorable, the way he was insisting on this suprise he had and the way he got sad when he rejected him, " Where are we going anyways?"

He tilted his head back up, now making direct eye-contact again, "I told you its a suprise~"

Edgeworth finally gave in, with a sigh he said, " Fine, maybe it'll help to get my mind of off it.. When should i be ready?"

The attorney looked relieved, that he didn't have to keep begging the other man, because they were close to being late. " Uhmm.. the train is leaving in like.. 15 minutes"

"Fif.. FIFTEEN MINUTES?? I can not get ready in 15 minutes?!"

He rubbed the back of his neck, " You don't have to look good for it, just wear something comfy, It's two hours long."

The prosecuter was still panicking, " I'll be right back!!" He ran of without closing his door so the attorney could sit in his warm house rather than stand on the porch.

The attorney stepped in, his house smelled like him, it was clean but not worned in, everything looked brand-new, Hes got a lot of money anyways, he must be spending it on his furniture.. he thought.

.

.

.

Edgeworth leaned back in his train seat, looking out the window. " You still haven't told me where were going." He said, waiting for an answer, when he didn't get one he turned his gaze to the man sitting infront of him. "Wright?" He said trying to get his attention but..

The attorney was just.. staring at him, not even discreatly, he was fully eyeing him up and down, he felt a heat rush to his cheeks. "Wright, can you stop staring.."

He jumped to the sudden realization that he was infact, very obviously gawking. "I-Im sorry It's just.. uhm.. you know.." he was stuttering. " I've never seen you in these kinds of clothes, Even in elemantary school you wore bow ties and such, Its the first time I saw you in something like this."

Finally free from his gaze his tense body relaxed, " You were the one who told me to wear something "comfy" " he said mockingly, if he wasn't sarcastic or mocking, he would be caught up to the fact the man infront of him was just admiring him a few moments ago.

" I know, I never said it didn't look good" he smiled " You should wear things like this around me more~"

The prosecuter turned his head away, lightly squeezing his own arm (something he made a habit of because of the von karma's) "Thank you.. i guess"

The rest of the train ride was them sitting in silence, not in a awkward one but an understanding one, edgeworth didn't like small talk and on top of that he was mourning today, Wright didn't want to risk his mood because he thought it will ruin the suprise..

Then the anouncement was heard, Attention ladies and gentleman, the next stop is Kurain Villiage. I repeat, next stop is Kurain Villiage.

The attorney fixed himself ready to get up, "Its our stop now"

They walked out of the train together, walking to a manor.

"What is this place?" The prosecuter asked unsure.

"This is the Kurain Villiage, this is where m-" he forgot to finish his sentence upon hearing a tiny voice yelling, "MR. NIIIIIIIIIIIICCCKKK!!!!!!!!" at the top of her lungs.

Wright's face lit up as he saw the little girl hugging his leg, he picked her up, "Hi pearls!" He said while he gave her a kiss on the cheek, "How are you?"

Pearl was hugging wright tightly, "Im so happy to see you!!" She glanced at the man who was standing next to them, "Ohh!! Is this?! Eh-ji-wert??"

Edgeworth bowed his head a little, " Hello little girl"

Wright turned to him, "Don't you remember her? You guys met but.."

Edgeworth thought about it a little, "Me? Uhm.. Oh actually.." he remembered " Yes we have, hello miss fey"

Pearl hid her face in wrights chest, not saying anything.Wright smiled, " She is a little shy~" he said as he stroked her hair.

She snapped her head up, "wait!! Mr. Nick!! Are you here for.. Your special Mystic Maya???"

Wright's chuckled awkwardly, "Uh.. sure you can say that.."

Edgeworth raised an eyebrow, "Your.. special Maya?"

Wright leaned in and whispered in the prosecuters ear, "She thinks me and Maya are dating, just ignore it yeah?"

The warm air on his ear sent a shiver down his spine, "Dont.. whisper in my ear.." he murmured.

The lawyer trying not to giggle, "Anyways, can you go tell Maya that we're here?" He said as he put her down.

Pearl said excitedly, "Okay I'll be fast Mr. Nick!!" As she ran off..

Edgeworth said "So.. why are we here again?"

His smile faded away, " You know, Maya is a medium, you saw her with your own eyes."

He hesitated "..yes? What does this have to do with.. me.." as he began to realize

Wright began to confirm his thoughts, "Maya told me once that if she can't reach someone, It must mean their connection to the living realm is weak but it gets stronger on their death anniversary, it gets more stronger if they were murdered too.."

Edgeworth's words flew out of his brain, causing him to stutter, " S-so youre saying.. Maybe I could..?"

Wright turned to him, "I hope so.. Maya never contacted a soul whos not Mia.. so.. I didn't wanted to get your hopes up.. But I have a feeling that It's going to work" he said with a reassuring smile

Edgeworth was still very unsure, was he going to see his father again after all these years? How could he after he betrayed him and became a prosecuter, the thing he hated the most. " Wright, I don't think he will be happy to see me.."

Wright put his hand on the prosecuters back, gently rubbing it, "Every father wants to see their child grow, he will be more than happy" he said, smiling slightly. "Cmon, theyre waiting for us."

The man with the silver hair finally stepped forward, towards the mansion, his head down and his hand holding on to his arm.

Maya's face lit up when she saw the two men walking in, "Hi Nick!" She came closer, "Hi Mr. Edgeworth, Im really glad you came" she said cheerfuly "I really hope this works"

Edgeworth recognized her from previous cases, she was Wrights assistant and the daughter of Misty Fey, the medium they used in his fathers last case. She was a medium just like her. "Hello miss fey, I- uhm- uh- I really dont know.. how this works?"

Maya smiled playfully, "Dont worry! You wont have to do much, I'll tell you what to do"

Wright put one of his hands on maya's back and the other on edgeworth's back " Lets not waste time, I trust you guys~ Do your best okay?"

Maya, "Thank you nick, We'll come back out if it doesnt work okay?" She gestured to the large doors, "Here is the channeling room, only the client can enter okay?"

Edgeworth was still very much panicking, "Okay.. i guess..?" Stepped in the room. The room was filled to the brim with candles.

The medium walked to the centre of the room and she sat on her knees, "Come here and sit in front of me" When he sat down she guided his hands and brought them together to make a praying-like hand gesture, "And now just close your eyes, I'll take it from here"

The prosecuter closed his eyes thinking I just really hope this works..

Maya adjusted her clothes and also made praying hands but she curled her index fingers over her middle ones. "His name is Gregory edgeworth right? He never changed his name?"

Edgeworth, lowering his head, "Yes that should be true" sitting so still that you could mistake him for a statue

The medium closed her eyes, " Dear Gregory Edgeworth! We call you to the mortal world! You have a visitor.."

"..."

Edgeworth was confused as she didn't seem to speak, "Miss Fey..?"

"Uhm.. Where.. am i?"

Edgeworth's eyes widened and he looked at the man now sitting in front of him, in ridiculous medium clothes, "It.. It worked..?"

The man infront of him scratched the back of his head, "They said I have a visitor..?" He looked at the prosecuter confused, " Are you my visitor?"

The prosecuters heart shattering could have been heard from miles away. "You.. you don't remember me.." he turned his head away, trying not to cry.

"Im.. Im sorry young man.. I don't know who.. you.. wait..?" He noticed the one piece of hair on edgeworth's head that was defiying gravity. "..Miles?"

Edgeworth's eyes lit up, "..dad?"

Gregory smiled, finally being able to see his son for the first time in decades. "You've grown."

The prosecuter hugged his own father, holding him tight because he thought if he let him go he'd leave again. "I missed you." He burried his head on his shoulder. Clenching his teeth so he didn't cry.

The man hugged him back, stroking his hair, "I missed you too, I heard everytime you mourned me."

Edgeworth pulled back but he was still holding on to his arm. "You did..? I thought you'd never want to see me.."

Gregory was still stroking his hair, trying to fix the gravity-defiying hair but failing. "Why wouldn't I?"

"Because.. I.. became a prosecuter.. the thing you hated the most.

Gregory put his hand on his sons arm. "No one can blame you for that Miles, your father was killed and his killer was set free. You losing your faith in justice was a fate that was unescapeble."

"..Thats not true" he smiled slightly.

The lawyer tilted his head a little, "whats not true?"

"I managed to lock up your killer."

Gregory seemed.. dissappointed, his shoulders slumped forward. "Oh you did? Thats.. great."

Edgeworth was confused, why wasn't he happy? "What? What happened?"

"No no.. nothing happened. Yanni should be.. what? 60 something? Being that old and being in jail must be hard."

Edgeworth, not adressing the elephant in the room, "You convicted people older than him?"

"Yes but.. Never mind I'm happy for you"

Now Edgeworth's shoulders slumped forward, "Your sad because, you think I did it.. right?"

Gregorys eyes widened, "No no..! I would never.. I mean.. why would I..?"

He looked down, " Von karma was right, when you talked to the medium you lied because you tried to protect me.."

Gregory put both his hands on his shoulders firmly. "Don't! Don't evet believe what ever that awful man said to you! He's corrupted and evil! Don't evet let his ways change yours!"

Now he was in verge of tears, "I already did.. I became a von karma.."

Gregory pulled him in a hug. "You can always go back.." he held him tighter. "Im sorry I couldn't be there for you.. I failed as a father.."

"Dont say that please.." now he was crying.

"I wasn't there when you needed me the most. All I could do was watch that man ruin my baby boy.."

"You.. watched..?"

Gregory smiled weakly, "Of course I did. I was your guardian angel after all, I had to leave when you turned 13. They told me you were capable of taking care of your self.. That man took away your childhood from you."

"And he took my father too.."

Gregory stopped mid hair stroke, "He did? Oh.. he was the one who killed me? Hmm.. That checks out. He was obsessed with me.."

Edgeworth wiped his tears away, "How can someone kill anybody over a penalty..?"

Gregory raised an eyebrow, "Penalty? Oh.. that.. uhm.. yeah he was a nutso anyways. Didn't suprise me."

Edgeworth, Unconsciously mimicking his father, raised an eyebrow " Were you going to say something..?"

Gregory smiled and fixed his sons bangs, "Enough talking about him okay? I want to talk about you.." he smiled. " What have you been up to?"

Edgeworth laughed. "Okay.. lets start with.. Oh! When I was..."

.

.

.

Wright sat on the ground, looking at the big doors, "They have been in there for a while.."

Pearl brought them tea to drink while they waited, " Mystic Maya would have come out by now if it didn't work."

Wright taking the tea cup, "Thank you pearls, I hope so too.."

.

.

.

After an hour of talking, The spirits eyes were getting fuzzy. "Miles.. I really want to hear about it more.. but.. I think this girl is getting tired."

Edgeworth's smile faded. "But..! I havent even got to the best part.."

Gregory smiled and kissed his forehead, "Its okay.. You can tell me next time."

Edgeworth's eyes lit up, "next time..?"

"You will visit your father right?"

He hugged his father, "Ofcourse I will.."

He hugged back and rested his head on his. "Miles.. I just want to say.. Im proud of you. You became someone to be proud of even though you were raised by a weak man. Don't evet doubt yourself. If you chase the truth instead of trying to win, you will see that you're someone to be proud of. Okay? Promise me that and I will come back whenever you need me to."

Im proud of you.. that echoed in his ears, causing tears to run down his face.. He never heard that before.. He just managed to cough up, "Thank you.." and couldn't stop crying.

Gregory wiped his tears away and hugged him and took one last smell in.

Edgeworth hugged him, his eyes closed too hard. He felt him get lighter. "Father..?"

He pulled back and realized his father was gone and Maya was here. "Oh.. hi Miss Fey.."

".." no response?

"Miss.. Miss Fey?!" He checked the unconscious girls pulse, making sure she was okay. "She fell asleep.. That must have been very tiring.." he fixed the sleeping girls hair and picked her up carefully, "Thank you so much.." he walked out the door.

Hearing the door open Wright got up quickly, "Edgeworth?" He panicked when he saw Edgeworth carrying Maya, "MAYA?!" he run up to them "What happened?!"

Edgeworth held her tightly, "She is okay.. I think she fell asleep, she had been doing this for a while now. Where should I lay her down?"

Wright exhaled, happy to hear it worked, guided him to the side room. "This way, thats her bed."

Edgeworth laid the girl down and put a blanket on top of her, Pearl was now on Maya's side, worried.

Wright put his hand on the prosecuters shoulder. "How di-"

Edgeworth suddenly turned around and hugged the lawyer. "Thank you Wright." He tried to hold his tears.

Suprised, he hugged him back. He smelled like a forest after it rained, It was soothing and the smell fit him perfectly, "You're welcome." He hesitated to but.. he put his hand on his head, touching his hair, he didn't get a reaction from the prosecuter so he kept doing it. His silver hair was so soft, It was well taken care of. It shined like in a commercial, his hair smelled heavenly too..

Pearl interupted the intimate moment, "Mr. Nick!! How could you touch someone else when Mystic Maya is fighting for her life!!"

Edgeworth pulled away, heat building up in his neck. *I wanted to stay like that..*

Wright smiled, "Pearls, Maya's okay. Don't worry about her." He turned to Edgeworth, noticing he wasnt making eye contact. "You should dress up like this more~"

Edgeworth's cheeks was a light Pink now. "Wright! Not the time."

He chuckled, "Okay sorryy"
