It was one of the busiest days at PTMC everyone was running around no one caring for the other dr. king was especially handling this worse than any of her other co workers the lights and sounds of monitors she usually wouldn't mind on any other day are now the only thing that occupied her mind but deep down she knew why , she woke up all stunned this morning when she dreamt of her closest friend and her being too close and ways she would only think off to put herself to sleep when she couldn't because she knew that she would never take that risk being just friends in her eyes was better than being nothing she was always scared that if one day she'll accidently spill her inner monologue to you so she'd keep the conversations centered around you only chiming in if asked a question and the rest of her talk would be about her sister and work , but she never ignored you infact it was the complete opposite you where the only person shed take extra rounds for , the only person she let in her private life outside of work and the only girl her heart ached for
but today it was different you haven't seen her all day she was afraid that shell tell you how she actually felt she spent the day close to dana making sure you're both not on the same charts and deep down you where getting worried you'd see her braid swiping across corridor corners but that was about it and deep down you missed your bestfriend , at least that's what you told yourself yeah bestfriends but you'd let her lay too close to you at night and you feel your heart jump anytime you ''accidently'' brush her hands when handing her medical tools above patients , and how she was the only thing that you thought about when you where out of your scrubs , how your playlist to work where all songs you added because they reminded you so much of her
Mel was panting needing a new batch of fresh air the contaminated air of the ER wasn't cutting it she tries her best to walk as quickly as she can without catching anymore attention than her breathing system can handle she bursts through the alloy doors past the paramedics and into the sun of Pittsburgh holding her chest slightly and clinging on to her uniform which she wanted to rip off because it felt like a choking sensation ''mel?'' a soft voice says from behind a few curse words form under her breath too afraid to turn she knew that voice too well she recognized it too well from her dreams you stood up to put a soft hand on her shoulder straightening her tense shoulders and hearing her out a sharp deep breath you're one of the few people that melissa allows to touch her at first you would always ask for permission even if it was a warm hug but by time she got used to it and right now if it was any other person touching her shoulders blade she would flinch and get more anxious but you where an exception you shifted infront of her to see what mas making her shake so badly her head was down ''mel what's wrong? , come sit'' you guide her slowly to the pavement where you where sitting for your break which probably ended by now but you didn't care it was fine if Robby scolded you mel mattered more to you than any other patient in the floor but you still haven't gotten a word out of her when you finally get a look at her face you see that she has no clearly started crying
''mel you okay? tell me whats wrong , ill help'' your voice comes out concerned ''she looks at you with eyes so full of feelings you cant quite decipher yet ''i really love you..'' , ''i love you too'' you say not knowing how it connects to her crying ''why do you say this now?'' you ask ''i really love you'' mel says yet again , which made you even more confused you didnt know what to say in reply because yo didnt know how she meant it and with her big eyes staring at you youre afraid youll ruin your friendship so you drop your head to your shoes ''you dont get it do you?'' mel says softly . but the thing is was that you did know very well you where just scared that youre understanding her word very poorly ''i frankly dont care if this ruins our friendship anymore youre all that im thinking about and i dont want this to affect my work and i understand if you dont feel the same way im not expecting you to treat this like a favor-'' shes never talked this quickly before but she stops when you lift your head backup and put a hand under her chin to examine her lips carefully with your eyes ''mel..'' you let out softly you grab her chin closely to test the waters with a soft peck butshes quickly breaks the distance between you guys making it more of a crash
your lips move in rhythm her dominating your upper lip and you focusing on her lower lip kissing her with softness you never knew you had her hands slowly lingering to your neck placing it gently to stretch below your right ear you slowly return to take in air and to read her face , ''i just wish you told me sooner mel..'' you liked her since the first day you saw her , you liked the way she jumped around from helping to even more helping you loved her soft smile that you could always count on to soothe you because when you saw her everything else came to a silence you felt like you where in another dimension every time you got lost in her eyes you always sensed she liked girls but was always too scared to bring up the topic , she gave you a soft smile and said ''i was scared i really valued our friendship and i tried to keep it professional''
you put a hand on her framed glasses to take them off because her face wasn't close enough , you needed her more than everything , closer than everything pulling her in swiftly by her waist she let out a quiet giggle for only you to hear she kissed you with more force which made you smile through her lips never knowing she was capable of satisfying you so well the kiss lasted so long but both of you knew that no matter how much you two would kiss it would never be enough to satisfy any girl she rested her head on your shoulder finally letting out a sigh of relief which sounds like it had been tuck for eternity in her chest finally feeling safe
she pulled from the kiss which lasted until both of you where satisfed
