Scorpius Malfoy poured himself a hefty amount of firewhisky which he brought from home from his grandfather's personal stores. “Cheers.” He whispered to himself as he celebrated his 22nd birthday away from family and friends at the S.H.I.E.LD. compound, patiently waiting for his partner Yelena Belova to show up.
“Ah, there you are, Little Scorpy.” Alexia Shostakov slapped Scorpius on the shoulder as he poured himself a drink from Scorpius’ wine bottle.
“Alexia…that’s not muggle whiskey…” Scorpius’ voice trailed off as he tried to warn Yelena’s dad about the firewhisky.
Alexia drank the strong drink, savoring the taste and not seeing anything wrong with it but after a while he opened his mouth and steam poured out of his mouth. “What the hell was in that drink? Another!”
Scorpius was cringing but sighed with relief when nothing happened to Alexia. He didn’t want his secret crush whip up on him for making dad sick with wizarding drinks.
“And why was Little Scorpy drinking alone? You didn’t wait for Yelena,” Alexia hiccuped as he shook his finger at Scorpius.
“You know you would like my Dad and Grandpa.” Scorpius confessed to Alexia as he poured himself another and heard the buzzer on the oven going off.
Alexia smelled the pizza. “We only have pizza if it's someone’s birthday. Scorpius, why didn’t you tell us and you could’ve gone home to celebrate!”
Scorpius shook his head, “I tried sending them owls but no response. I fear something has happened to…” his voice quivered softly wondering if something bad had happened back home.
“Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy! Where are you, grandson?” Lucius bellowed as Scorpius perked his head up.
“She didn’t.” Scorpius breathed excitedly at seeing Yelena’s grin.
“I did! Couldn't have my partner feel sad now can we?” Yelena punched him in the arm gently.
“Grandfather, may I introduce my partner, Yelena Belova, an assassin and her father, The Red Guardian. Alexia, Yelena, my grandfather, Lord Lucius Malfoy.”
They heard an ahem and Scorpius shouted, “Dad! You came! Grandmother! But where is mom?”
Draco sighed, “She wanted to come little dragon, but the blood curse has become worse. She did get you this for your birthday.”
Scorpius tore open the wrapping paper and found that his mother sent her wand for safekeeping.
“Doesn’t mom need this? Yelena, may I talk with you in private?” Scorpius’ voice sounded strained to Yelena.
Scorpius and Yelena walked across the room as he touched her arm gently, “I do care for you Yelena. But I need to go home for a while to see Mom. This blood curse has made her weak and unable to come.”
“I know Scorpius, I met your mother and she seems nice. She commented that we were very opposites of each other, I am a muggle assassin and you are pureblood wizard. I know you have unfinished business back home. It's ok, I will inform Phil and take the time you need for the family. I miss my sister Natasha so much and I know it hurts Scorpius. I’ll be here for you and I do love you.” Yelena confessed to a shocked Scorpius who felt her lips on his cheek.
