Work Text:

"This is fucking stupid," Tammy said, pulling at the belt of her green gown.

"You look amazing," said Bill, watching her with his big, bright blue eyes, like a lovestruck puppy.

Tammy's assistant—whatever her name was—had made some calls and, with the help of Roderick Usher's name and money, managed to obtain the original Renaissance outfits for Tammy and Bill, delivered straight from the British Museum. Bill had complained and told Tammy that he wanted them to attend the Renaissance Faire wearing the clothes they'd made together, but Tammy didn't care. She wouldn't be caught dead wearing a cheap knock-off frock to an event. Sadly, she couldn't talk Bill out of wearing a pair of tights, though.

When Bill went to get them drinks, Tammy walked through the crowd, listening to the lively chatter of costumed people and looking at an elf who played a harp.

"Awe you a pwincess?" A piping voice asked behind Tammy's back and she turned to see a little girl in a white dress which was far too big for her.

Tammy opened her mouth, not quite sure what to say, suddenly nervous under the piercing gaze of the tiny girl.

"I am," Tammy finally said and the girl nodded her head before disappearing into the crowd.

"Your drink, m'lady." Bill handed her a cup of mead and Tammy, despite herself, had to admit that it was the very tasty.

"You're starting to like it here," Bill said, with a large grin.

"No, I'm not," Tammy lied. But she cracked a smile while Bill was busy looking at a centaur eating a massive turkey leg.
