Work Text:
Millennium Science School. A place where the brightest minds reside, highly regarded for cutting-edge science and technology unrivaled by other schools. Located in the Millennium District—a district dedicated to progress—high-tech gadgets sit on every corner. Solar-powered streetlights line the roads alongside parked electric cars, and, per Kivotos custom, heavily armed security robots patrol the streets.
That late morning, a small figure stood by the side of the road in front of the plaza outside the campus grounds.
“Haaah… She's VERY late…”
The figure was a short, slim young woman with sharp red eyes and vermillion hair, featuring a crooked cowlick and a braid secured by Millennium tags. She wore a sleeveless black shirt patterned with sakura flowers beneath a baggy, unbuttoned white dress shirt. Her favorite sukajan hung tied around her waist over a black pleated skirt.
She was none other than the infamous Mikamo Neru, callsign ‘Double O’, leader of 'Cleaning&Clearing'—a maid club that doubled as a special operations unit.
Passersby averted their gazes as they walked past. She looked super pissed off, and no one in their right mind would be stupid enough to approach her in this state.
Suddenly, the loud roar of an engine echoed from the distance. It definitely wasn't the hum of Millennium’s electric cars or the heavy rumble of logistics trucks from other districts.
The source of the noise finally made its appearance: a white sports car showed up at the distant intersection, rapidly approaching as the engine roared louder.
Neru rolled her eyes in exasperation. “Good grief… A fuckin’ brat in their fancy ride, just what I need.” She crossed her arms. “Well, at least I have something to do while waiting for her…”
She reached behind her back and drew a pair of MPX submachine guns, chains connected at the end of the stocks.
Stepping calmly onto the road, she took a stance and aimed both SMGs at the barreling sports car.
The sports car immediately braked, drifting sideways and creating a billowing cloud of smoke and dust as it slid across the asphalt toward Neru.
Neru didn't flinch. Her eyes locked intently on the car, ready to rain tungsten-tipped armor-piercing 9mm rounds into it.
However, catching a glimpse of two yellow triangular shapes above the driver’s head, Neru held her fire. The vehicle came to a dead stop just a few feet in front of her.
Amidst the dissipating smoke, the driver stepped out of the vehicle. “Good day to you, my dear Neru~”
Neru lowered her guns slightly, raising a brow. “Seia…?”
The smoke cleared to reveal a petite girl with a pair of champagne-yellow fox ears and a long, sweeping tail decorated with white ribbons and flowers. Her hair matched her ears, flowing well below her waist to frame gradient pink-and-yellow eyes. She wore an elegant, multi-layered white dress with golden accents and separated poet sleeves, paired with a matching capelet and a navy blue square-end tie. Beneath the frills of her skirt, a white pistol holster sat strapped to a black belt.
“My apologies for being a little late, dear. The traffic was simply unacceptable. I hope this doesn't cancel out our planning for the outing today.” Seia offered a gentle, polite smile.
Neru stowed her guns and let out a soft breath, the corner of her mouth twitching up. “Yeah, it's alright. Almost turned you and your car into honeycomb. Speaking of the car…”
Neru smirked, taking a good look around the vehicle as she circled it, whistling playfully. It was a Jaguar E-type Series 3, fast becoming a collector's item in Kivotos. Furthermore, it was an open two-seater.
“Whoa, this ride looks like it just drove out of a Jimmy Bond movie! Is it yours?”
“Absolutely,” Seia nodded gracefully.
“Ah, right. You're the leader of Trinity’s student council, Tea Party or whatever, right?"
“Correction, ‘one of the leaders of Trinity's student council.’ There's three of us in the Tea Party.”
“Yeah, yeah, but that means y’all must be pretty loaded, right? To afford something like this?”
Seia brushed a lock of hair behind her ear. “Well, I wouldn't say all of us are loaded, since one of us doesn't even have any proper school necessities. However, I do have quite the amount of earnings acquired from stocks.”
Neru patted the sleek hood. “And how much did you spend on this baby?”
“Hmm… let's see…” Seia tapped her chin, mentally tallying the modifications. “Custom grille, custom plates, Kevlar-reinforced run-flat tires, military-grade armor made of wolfsegg steel, aluminum, titanium, and ceramics, a turbocharged V12 engine, Trinity Royal Arms’ Security Tech package, a high-end instrument panel, and bass-boosted woofers on each door. That should go above a million credits, or a hundred million yen.”
“Heh, if Yuuka heard how much money you spent on this car, she'd go insane. Hahaha!” Neru barked a laugh, picturing the strict Seminar treasurer's reaction. “Anyways, we'll be taking this, aren't we? If so, where to?”
“Somewhere special where only the two of us can be together~” Seia's polite demeanor melted into something far more alluring.
Neru’s cheeks dusted pink, but she leaned against the door to maintain her edge. “Well, what are you waiting for? Don't make your date wait any longer, love~”
Seia rounded the hood to the passenger side, opening the door for Neru, who dropped into the plush seat. Seia then slid into the driver's side and fired up the engine, letting it roar to life.
“That's hot~” Neru purred playfully.
Seia arched an elegant brow. “Me, or the car?”
Neru flashed a sarcastic grin. “Heh, take a guess.”
Seia rolled her eyes, a soft smile playing on her lips as she tapped the dashboard monitor. “Let me put on some music~”
A sweet synthwave tune washed over the cabin. Seia skillfully threw the wheel, spinning the car in place to carve a perfect donut before aiming back down the road she came from. She floored the gas, blasting off and leaving nothing but tire marks and smoke in their wake.
It was around a month ago, during the Millennium Expo. Seia had decided to be the representative leader for Trinity, wanting to prove to Nagisa that she still had worth even without her precognitive ability to see the future.
Some spycraft shenanigans happened while she was there, and one way or another, she proved her worth to her friends back at Trinity in the end.
After the Millennium Expo wrapped up, although her ‘client’ had gone off the radar, she kept in contact with her field agent partner. They met up from time to time, deepening their bond until that fateful night last week when Neru ‘stealthily’ made her way past all the Tea Party patrols by knocking ALL of them out so no one could report anything, just to get into Seia's dorm and confess her love.
Now, the car they were driving cruised down the coastline roads toward D.U., overlooking a vast blue ocean that shimmered in the daylight.
Neru stood up slightly and spread her arms to the sides. The wind whipped through her hair and pushed heavily against her arms as the car sped at over a hundred kilometers per hour.
Neru fought to be heard over the rushing wind. “YOU GO ON JOYRIDES OFTEN?”
Seia flashed a cheeky smile, her hands steady on the steering wheel. “NOT MUCH BEFORE THE SIGNING OF THE EDEN TREATY! I DID IT A LOT AFTER THAT, THOUGH!”
Neru then spotted Shiratori Ward’s beach in the distance, dotted with dozens of people either basking on the sand or surfing offshore.
She pointed toward the crowded shoreline. “ARE YOU TAKING ME TO THE BEACH?!”
Seia didn't even turn her head. “DOES IT LOOK LIKE A PLACE WHERE WE CAN BE ALONE TOGETHER?”
Neru lowered her arms slightly, squinting at the crowds. “NO?”
“THEN WE'RE NOT GOING THERE!” Seia countered over the engine's roar.
“WELL, CAN YOU JUST TELL ME WHERE WE'RE GOING?!” Neru demanded, dropping back down into the plush passenger seat.
A mischievous glint crossed Seia's eyes. “I don't want to ruin the surprise~”
The sports car kept barreling down the road, entering D.U. as it blew past the ‘Welcome to District of Utnapishtim!’ sign.
The architecture in D.U. was much less ‘Sci-Fi’ than Millennium, but it remained very much a modern city. It was also where the General Student Council resided, managing Kivotos from the Sanctum Tower at its center.
The tower’s beam reaching into the heavens, alongside the massive halos in the sky visible from anywhere in Kivotos, appeared absolutely gigantic from D.U., even though the structure itself was still located a few dozen kilometers away.
Seia navigated the road at a much safer speed, adjusting for the high traffic and pedestrians crossing the streets.
“Are we there yet?” Neru grumbled, scrolling through the FruLink app on her smartphone.
“No. This is the twelfth time you've asked since we got on the road,” Seia replied with a tired sigh.
Suddenly, Neru's phone rang, displaying an incoming call alongside the familiar insignia of SCHALE.
“Who is that?” Seia asked, keeping her eyes fixed on the busy traffic ahead.
“Oh, it's the Big Man himself,” Neru noted with slight interest, her thumb hovering over the screen to answer.
“Sensei? Tell him I said ‘Hello’, will you, dear?” Seia requested politely.
The moment the call connected, an urgent, familiar voice blasted through the speaker. “NERU?! YOU THERE?!”
“Woah! Hold up there, Sensei. What's got you so worked up?” Neru drawled, pulling the phone slightly away from her ear.
“You're currently in D.U., right?” Sensei pressed.
“Yeah, how'd you know? Wait?! Did you ask those Veritas brats to track my position again?” Neru snapped, her temper flaring.
“Listen to me! There's a group of lunatics in spandex causing a ruckus on the overpass just a few blocks near you. I need you to get there and stop them before they cause too much damage to the city!”
“Look, I know I'm strong and capable, but why me though? Aren't the KSPD supposed to be enough to deal with these crazy kids?”
“They did step in, but they didn't account for the suspects retreating to pilot a giant robot.”
Neru blinked. “A giant what?”
The sports car suddenly jerked to a halt as Seia braked behind a line of idling vehicles. The cause of the traffic jam was immediately evident.
A giant robot was stomping past the intersection, climbing up the overpass ahead. It wielded a power sword, indiscriminately firing missiles at the KSPD’s armored vehicles.
“What the fuck…” Neru muttered, staring in sheer disbelief.
“I'll be there with reinforcements in, uhh… twenty minutes. I trust you to keep it busy over there. Please…?”
Neru rolled her eyes, a familiar, battle-hungry grin spreading across her face. “Yeah, yeah. You don't need to beg, I'll do it. Oh, by the way, Seia says ‘Hello’.”
“Oh, hello Seia! Were you two on a dat—”
Neru abruptly ended the call.
“Alright, our date's gotta be postponed. I've got a job to do,” Neru relented with a heavy sigh.
Seia just smirked. “Fufu~ How about we treat it as our date? As a matter of fact, I prepared for something exactly like this. Go and check out what I have for you in the trunk, dear~”
She pressed a button on the dash, and the trunk popped open with an audible click from the back.
Neru hopped out of the car, strolling calmly to the rear to lift the trunk and inspect the goods. “Hahaha! You know me well, love~”
Standing at over thirty meters tall, the robot stomped its way down the overpass, crushing any police vehicles caught in its path.
“Citizens of Kivotos! We are Infinite Sushi Squad: Kaitengers! We've arrived to vanquish the evil that is the Independent Federal Investigation Club SCHALE!” The voice blared through the massive mecha’s external speakers.
KSPD helicopters circled like gnats, but the Kaitenger robot extended its right arm, aiming a massive 75mm Gatling gun mounted on its wrist directly at them.
The Gatling gun roared to life, unleashing a bullet hell that shredded the lead helicopter to scraps, sending it plummeting from the sky in a fiery wreck.
“Foolish! Our KAITEN FX MK.3 is stronger than the predecessor destroyed in battle by those villains, led by the degenerate and evil man that is SCHALE’s Sensei himself! The Never-Ending Conveyor Belt leads straight to justice until he's put on trial—”
Before the pilot could finish her grand speech, a massive explosion struck the mech's right arm. The sheer force ripped the entire limb clean off, sending it crashing heavily onto the asphalt below.
“OI! DUMBASS!” A familiar voice barked from the edge of the overpass ramp. “You can call the big guy a degenerate, but callin’ him evil ain't somethin’ I can let slide!”
Neru stood there with a smoking NLAW anti-tank launcher hoisted on her shoulder. She casually tossed the empty tube onto the road and whipped out both of her SMGs, chains rattling.
The colossal robot turned toward Neru, metal groaning loudly under its own weight.
“Mikamo Neru! Leader of the C&C! The Little Tyrant! That was a good shot, but our real battle now bega—”
“Hey… did you just call me ‘little’…?” Neru's voice dropped to a dangerous growl, a vein popping on her forehead.
Without warning, Neru dashed forward in a blur of speed. Stripped of its Gatling gun, the mech's chest compartments popped open, unleashing a barrage of micro-missiles straight at her.
Explosions trailed her as every single missile missed. Neru kept closing the distance, dropping into a low slide right between the robot's massive legs. Popping up behind it, she unloaded both SMGs point-blank into the mech's posterior joints, sending black oil spraying across the road.
Gripping its power sword in its left hand, the robot swung low in a desperate sweep. Neru leaped, planting her boots cleanly on the flat side of the blade. Using the momentum, she sprinted straight up the mech's arm, vaulted toward its head, and delivered a devastating uppercut kick before backflipping away.
The massive machine staggered backward and collapsed heavily onto its rear. The grinding metal struck a spark, igniting the leaked oil and engulfing the mech's lower half in a fiery explosion.
Landing gracefully, Neru slammed fresh magazines into her guns, ready for round two.
“Our fight is not over yet!” The Kaitenger pilot screeched through the speakers as the robot shakily pushed itself back to its feet.
It raised its left wrist, activating a massive buckle shield that projected a large, hemispherical force field around the entire chassis.
“Heh, let's see how much it can take!” Neru smirked, sprinting in a wide circle around the mech while pouring relentless fire into the barrier.
The force field absorbed the armor-piercing 9mm rounds like raindrops, holding perfectly steady. Neru's magazines were rapidly nearing empty.
“Hahaha! Your little guns are no match for our cutting-edge holo-sushield! Prepare to be punished!”
Suddenly, the holographic barrier buckled under a hail of heavy-caliber rounds.
Barreling down the other side of the highway at breakneck speed was a white sports car. Two rapid muzzle flashes strobed from beneath its hood—concealed machine guns tearing into the mech's defenses.
Neru knew exactly who was behind the wheel. “Hehe! That's my girl!”
The force field shattered like glass. The sports car immediately hit the brakes, throwing itself into a violent drift as it slid sideways across the asphalt directly toward the robot.
The reinforced chassis slammed hard into the mech's left leg. The sheer momentum, combined with the car's heavy modifications, swept the thirty-meter robot right off its feet.
The mechanical titan crashed flat onto its back with a deafening crunch. Neru intended to make sure it wouldn't be getting up again.
She vaulted onto the grounded chassis, stomping her way up the chest plating toward the head. Grabbing the edge of the cockpit hatch, she used her raw, terrifying strength to pry the heavy metal compartment open before dropping inside.
Inside sat five girls wearing red, green, black, yellow, and pink spandex, each sporting elaborate sushi decorations atop their helmets.
Neru cracked her knuckles, a sadistic grin stretching across her face. “Now, this is what you get for annoying me on my special day with my foxy!”
A chorus of terrified screams and the sounds of a harsh, merciless beatdown echoed out from the open cockpit.
After a few minutes, Neru climbed out of the cockpit. Her fists and clothes were slightly bloodied, but her expression looked incredibly content. It was as if all her prior frustration had vanished, violently redirected into the poor Kaitengers inside.
She strolled over to Seia, who waited patiently beside her battered car. "Hey, hon..." Neru greeted, flashing a wry smile.
"Neru, are you alright?" Seia murmured, gently caressing her reckless knight's cheek before taking her bloodied hand.
"Don't worry, it ain't mine. Those peeps aren't that strong without their big toys~" Neru chuckled, shifting her gaze to the sports car parked behind Seia.
Although not completely totaled, the chassis sported a massive dent caved inward near the passenger door. The supposedly reinforced wheels also had their rims heavily bent from the sheer stress of the impact.
"Your car…" Neru gestured with her chin.
Seia smiled softly, her thumb brushing over Neru's knuckles. "That car can be fixed. What matters most is that you're safe~"
The two locked eyes, the chaos of the ruined highway fading into the background.
Neru draped her arms loosely around Seia's shoulders, pulling her close, while Seia's hands found their way to Neru's waist, resting warmly against the fabric of her sukajan. Given their slight three-centimeter height difference, Seia tilted her head just a fraction downward as Neru gazed up through her eyelashes.
They both fluttered their eyes shut, leaning in until the space between them vanished. Their lips met in a tender, lingering touch.
"Mhm!"
"Mmm~"
The initial softness quickly gave way to a deeper, more fervent heat. Neru parted her lips with a quiet sigh, inviting Seia in. Their mouths moved perfectly in sync, a passionate exchange of breathless sighs and wet, quiet smacks. Tongues slipped past parted lips, tangling together in a playful, desperate fight for dominance that tasted of adrenaline and sweet affection, fully enveloping the two in their own private, intoxicating world. Seia's fox ears flicker and her tail wags playfully, enjoying the intimate exchange.
The wail of dozens of approaching police sirens finally pierced their bubble. A fleet of KSPD cruisers pulled up, completely surrounding the battlefield from every side of the road.
The two broke apart, gasping softly, a thin, glistening trail of saliva bridging the gap between their mouths before snapping. They quickly wiped their lips and straightened up, playing it entirely cool just as Valkyrie’s Public Peace Bureau Officers poured out of the cruisers and swarmed the wrecked robot.
A humble little sedan with a familiar emblem emblazoned on its hood skidded to a halt behind the barricade of police cars.
The driver stepped out, adjusting a Kevlar vest over his loud tropical shirt. "SEIA! NERU!" Sensei waved frantically, jogging over to where they stood.
Neru crossed her arms, jutting her chin out. "You're late. We dealt with it by ourselves."
"Yeah, sorry, I had a meeting with Rinny earlier and had to call Kanna to assemble reinforcements." Sensei scratched the back of his head nervously. "Hey, uhh… I'm sorry to ruin your special day, you two."
Seia shook her head gracefully. "It's fine. I consider this simply a part of the outing plan."
"Well, can't really argue with her. Haven't felt this relieved in a long time," Neru agreed. The combined catharsis of the violent beatdown and Seia's intense kiss left her in a deeply relaxed state she had rarely ever felt.
Sensei planted both hands on his hips, breathing a heavy sigh of relief. "Well, you two did such a good job today! So, all is good, right?"
"Well, my car is kind of broken now. So I have a favor to ask," Seia tilted her head. "Could you bring this to SCHALE HQ and get it fixed? If I drive around in a battered vehicle, Nagisa will bar me from driving ever again."
"No problem! I'll have the Engineering girls fix it up in a jiffy!" Sensei assured her, digging into his pocket. "In the meantime, you can borrow my car to get around. Just… please don't wreck it. I just paid off the final installment last week…" He reluctantly handed over the keys to his sedan.
Seia gladly accepted them. "Thank you. I'll take good care of it." She then turned her attention back to Neru, extending her hand. "Let's continue where we left off."
Neru took her hand, letting out a rare, breathy giggle. "I hope we'll be there soon~"
Thankfully for Neru, they soon arrived at their destination. It was a non-cargo dock—a marina, completely unrelated to the girl named Marina from Red Winter.
Various non-cargo watercraft were moored here, ranging from small jet skis, sailboats, and speedboats to lavish yachts. Numerous civilians and Odyssey Maritime School students milled about the docks.
Seia parked Sensei's humble sedan in a lot situated on the high ground overlooking the marina. The two girls stepped out, stretching their stiff limbs.
“Okay, so you brought me to a boatyard.” Neru crossed her arms, looking around in confusion. “You said earlier we were going somewhere where only the two of us could be together. This place is pretty damn noisy.”
Seia hid a delicate giggle behind her hand. “Fufu~ We're almost there. It's just a short walk from here.”
The pair walked side-by-side down the concrete steps to the expansive wooden marina. They strolled past rows of standard watercraft until they reached the very end of the dock, where a single, massive vessel was moored.
It was a luxurious superyacht.
“What the…” Neru muttered, her jaw dropping slightly.
“Did I surprise you?” Seia flashed a knowing smirk. “I certainly hope I did.”
“You own a tricked-out sports car and a big fuckin’ boat. What else do you have?” Neru demanded, genuinely curious.
“I have a three-seater sidecar and a jump jet,” Seia answered casually. She then noticed a sudden stiffness in her partner's posture. “What's wrong? Do you not like boats? Are you perhaps prone to seasickness?”
Neru quickly snapped out of her trance. “O-Oh, not at all! It's just… I had a really bad time on an even bigger boat a few months ago during a mission.”
Seia's fox ears drooped flat against her head in disappointment. “Oh, I didn't know that. I'm so sorry.”
“W-Wait! That doesn't mean I don't wanna board your boat or anything!” Neru waved her hands frantically to assure her. “I would love to see what you've got inside.”
Seia’s bright smile returned, her fluffy tail wagging excitedly behind her. “Then let's not waste another minute out here, dear. Our first destination will be the washroom. Let's get ourselves properly cleansed first~”
Seia grabbed Neru's hand, leading her toward the swim platform at the rear of the yacht. They climbed the short stairs up to the main deck and disappeared into the lavish interior.
Not long after, the heavy anchor was pulled up, and the powerful engines hummed to life. The superyacht slowly departed from the marina, charting a course toward the open sea.
Thus, the ship sailed with the two on board.
