Chapter Text
Who said divas couldn't take up sports? A lot of people told Brittany Miller that. She’s too “prissy,” too “posh,” and labeled with whatever other terms people could come up with. But why was Eleanor the only one destined to be sporty and play rough? Brittany Miller, surprisingly, is more than just her poised exterior suggests. The only thing she isn’t yet is challenged—not yet.
Not until the addition of Alvin Seville, who has been the de facto sports star for the longest time. After spending a good amount of time on the court hooping, shooting, and so on, Brittany has started to grow bored. With determination in her stride, she approached Alvin Seville, who is also considered at her level. She’s clearly been putting in the work, with sweat beads forming on her forehead, highlighting her tantalizing midriff and her strong, athletic thighs.
"So, what do you say, Alvin? Care to hoop with the best girl on the court? I’ve already been sweating my ass off defeating everyone else…” “Hm. Fine, Britt, I’ll play you. But don’t start crying if I beat you. I’m no pushover like the rest of the gym when it comes to this sport. The Miller girl won’t take me down that easily.”
Brittany herself smirks confidently, her blue eyes sparkling with determination as she looks Alvin up and down. "Oh, I wouldn't dream of crying, Alvin. I just hope you're ready to eat my dust!" She stretches her arms, showing off her toned physique glistening with sweat.
"Let's make this...interesting though. How about a little wager? Winner takes all - and the loser, has to buy the winner dinner at that fancy new burger joint downtown. Deal?" Brittany extended her fingerless-gloved hand towards Alvin, a challenging grin playing on her lips. The court falls silent in anticipation of their impending matchup. But who was Alvin Seville to ever back down from a challenge? Not him. And coming from Brittany, that wager suddenly seemed double enticing.
"Alright, deal. Now I'm for certain not losing this little 1v1."
He shook her hand, grinning back, adamant about not losing. Because he's Alvin SEVILLE. He never loses in a sport (As he'd love telling himself) and especially wouldn't be finding himself losing to the DIVA of all people.
Brittany gripped Alvin's hand firmly, giving it a single, confident shake before releasing it with a playful smile. "Excellent, it's a bet then. And don't worry, I'll make sure to leave the tip for the waiter too," she assures him, her tone teasing yet competitive. She turns, striding with purpose toward the center of the court, her hips swaying gracefully with each step. Reaching the basketball resting there, Brittany picks it up and spins it effortlessly in her hands, showcasing her confidence.
Facing Alvin again, she tosses the ball high into the air and catches it smoothly with a flick of her wrist. "And now, let's see what you've got, Alvin. But just remember..." she smirks, dribbling the ball towards her chest with a playful flair. "Everyone's got a little bit of crazy in them." With a sudden burst of speed, Brittany sprints toward the hoop, the ball tucked tightly against her hip. The crowd that gathered watches in awe, their excitement palpable, as she leaps, soaring through the air like a gazelle.
In that moment, time seems to slow as she releases the ball, arcing it toward the basket in a beautiful, fluid motion. The audience collectively holds their breath, captivated by the sight as the ball spins, rotating end over end, poised for what they hope will be a perfect shot. In all the years of being part of the Chipettes, people haven't seen this side of Brittany Miller.
Alvin was caught off guard for just a moment, but he quickly rolled his eyes, shaking off the surprise. As soon as the ball soared down the court due to Brittany’s skilled pass, Alvin sprang into action. With the agility characteristic of chipmunks and even better hops than Brittany, he expertly snatched the ball out of the air.
After landing, he quickly picked up speed, dribbling past Brittany with ease. “Yeah! Crazy! I've just got more of it,” he shouted, exuding confidence. His determination to showcase his superior skills fueled his drive, and he felt exhilarated by the intense competition on the court. It's the first time (outside of Eleanor) anyone's given him some sort of challenge.
Brittany was definitely startled by Alvin's speed and agility; she stumbled slightly as she landed but quickly regained her composure. "Whoa! I'll give you a point for that! But don't think you can catch me off guard again!" With determination shining in her eyes, she took off after Alvin, her long legs eating up the distance between them effortlessly. As Alvin jumped, attempting to shoot, Brittany leaped, soaring through the air alongside him. Her eyes narrowed as she reached out, swatting the ball out of his hands just as he released it.
"Mistake, Seville. BIG mistake," she taunted playfully as she snagged the loose ball and landed gracefully. Dribbling backward, she flashed a confident grin over her shoulder. "You'll have to try a lot harder than that to beat me." Tossing the ball ahead, Brittany sprinted toward the hoop once more, her hair catching the wind behind her in a wild dance.
She leaped, spinning in mid-air like a seasoned athlete, as she released the ball, netting an effortless layup that brought cheers from the sidelines. The thrill of competition pulsed through her veins, fueling her desire to win.
Okay, he'll give Brittany that, she DID get the layup opportunity against him. But Alvin's fierce drive to compete, combined with his incredible agility, once again came into play. He leaped effortlessly, ensuring that Brittany's layup didn’t go in, swatting the ball aside with precision. As soon as the ball hit the ground, Alvin took off after it, dribbling skillfully to the other side of the court toward the opposite hoop. "Try?" he called over his shoulder. His quick thinking and blazing speed caught Brittany off guard yet again.
As the ball soared toward the far hoop, she instantly altered her course, chasing after Alvin with a fierce determination in her eyes. "Oh, I'll show you try, alright!" Brittany shouted, her breath quickening with each stride. She pushed herself harder, her powerful legs propelling her forward as she closed the gap between them.
Each step felt electrifying as she focused on regaining control of the game. The rhythm of their movements echoed the competitive spirit that defined their friendship—a blend of rivalry and camaraderie, urging both to perform their best. Each dribble, each sprint, heightened the intensity of their match, making it clear that neither was willing to back down easily.
