The way they fall

Summary:

The reporters all but throwing themselves at his wall of bodyguards in an attempt to get an exclusive interview, “Mr. Park, Mr. Park, Just a moment of your time, Mr. Park, Just a moment….” Their words hammered through Jimin’s skull as he walked triumphantly through the exit with his head high. Pushing the doors open, his arms escaping him to reach towards the dormant moon, the sun hitting his face in a wave of calm heat.

He did it, he had won.

Chapter 1: Prologue: It ends where it begins

Chapter Text

The nervous tick in Jimin’s leg was palpable from the rattling of the nearby court chairs. Nearly 12 years of meticulous planning had led to this very moment. The jury was shocked by the most innocent looking case run amuck in years. A case that would never seen the light of day if they were not led to believe it was a simple case about inheritance.

Once Jimin knew he would win, for his family and friends, he couldn’t lose. He had put up with it all, just for the sweet relief of pure horror to pass his sweet “mother's” face. How would she have seen this coming after all, any possible thought of betrayal was well locked behind years of pretending. That with which he would never concede to again. He was done with the nonsense, and now his mother and father would be done prescribing it.

As the court day ends, Jimin looks at the concerned judge sitting atop his perch, his brows scrunched together in a scowl. Jimin knew the judge had been bought by his family, but even a judge cannot hide from all the publicity this case had gained. The sea of reporters all packed into the back of the court house with their expensive cameras and mics, just waiting for the inevitable: the verdict.

The one and only time Jimin would ever allow himself the pleasure of public emotions would be now, a snicker leaving his lips as he glares at the now mortified judge. Looking directly at Jimin’s eyes he announces, “A verdict has been made, the jury has named the condemned party guilty. Please escort Mr. and Mrs. Park to their cells for future punishment.” In an extremely unprofessional way, the judge stood up and hobbled after the now guilty prisoners.

“What a day to be remembered,” Jimin scoffed as he made his way to the exit of the courthouse.

The reporters all but throwing themselves at his wall of body guards in an attempt to get an exclusive interview, “Mr.

Notes:

Hello everyone,

This is my first time writing a fic! Please be nice to me and let me know of any constructive criticism or thoughts!

This has been my headcannon for a while, and I wanted to write it out. I am planning on posting the next chapter in a few days. I might not be the best at updating right now because of finals!
