Chapter Text
The Axolotl
. He is the oldest and some might say the first Universal Guardian in the Multiverse.
. He is still alive but, not necessarily active in his role these days. In truth it would take something very serious to occur in the Multiverse for him to take notice or metaphorically wake up.
. In relation to Dark Sun's shockwave.... well I cant say much on it yet but.... well I cant say much yet.
. His brother is Ophiuchus the Astral that lives in the void. For if there is a force in the universe that is ultimate oblivion and the end of all things then, to ensure balance there must be a creative force in the multiverse to balance things out.
. He has not seen or spoken with his brother since the dawn of creation and, while they are both principle forces with a role to fill, it is speculated (especially among the first generation guardians) that he misses his brother dearly.
. Truth be told he is sad that his brother's role leaves him in eternal darkness in the void; unable to enjoy the wonders of creation save for the brief "taste" of life from any dead dimension he devourers.
. The Axolotl did not create the first generation of Guardians but, he did tutor and discipline them for a time. This includes Golden Freddy's ancestors, The Elidor Quartet, Mr Puzzles and, believe it or not Sleepy Moon.
. While the other Guardians tolerate or frown on Sleepy's antics, the Axolotl appears on the surface indifferent to his actions. The truth however is he, in his own way approves of Sleepy's behaviour; recognising there is a need and a place for a Guardian to step in and do the unconvential for the good of the multiverse at large. That sometimes you need to put out a forest fire and, other times you need to let it burn to allow something new to flourish.
. While the Astrals for the most part can be considered aloof and distant for cosmic beings and, infuriating to a lot of people for their callous nature, the Axolotl is a very caring creature to all life.... he just has a lot on his cosmic mind most of the time that has him come off as a bit aloof but as a whole he is a good guy.
. Speaking of the Astrals or, more specifically how they "handle" the universe.... well lets just say Sleepy is not the only one who bemoans the way some universes turn out under their care. The only difference being is the ancient Guardian is way more patient with them and hopeful that, at some point down the line they will start getting it right at some point. Has for the Dark Astrals.... he views them in the same way someone might a vulture or a bat. Not exactly the nicest of creatures but, beings who server an important role in the multiverse at large.
. If I had to chose a voice actor for him it would likely be Billy West who voiced the God Entity in Futurama.
