Mika, wherever you are

Summary:

Jun reflects on Mika and her legacy.

Notes:

This is my first time posting fanfic and english isn't my first language, so... there might be some mistakes here and there

But enjoy it anyway :>

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

"She sacrificed herself for us", Shiro said that day. That was the first time I'd heard of her.

"A Bioman must be willing to die for their friends." Honestly, until that moment, I never imagined myself giving my life for someone. I've always thought more about myself and what I want before anything else.

And then, by chance, I learned the story of a girl who sacrificed herself for everything she loved most. Her friends, the Earth... the African nature she longed to photograph.

She passed away before she could make her dream come true. I wonder if her soul regrets it. Because of that, I like to think that she and her brother can see Africa from up there.

I bet they're happy.

Sometimes I ask myself if she would like me. Because I, Jun, carry her legacy as if it were something sacred. Well, it is sacred indeed.

I feel proud, but sad too. Because nothing and no one in this world will be able to fill the void she left.

Not even me.

It's not like I'm trying to be her. I guess I'm just afraid of occupying a space that isn't mine.

"It's like Mika came back to life," Hikaru said when I became Yellow Four for the first time. I know it wasn't on purpose. I know it was an innocent comment, made in the heat of the moment, but it genuinely scares me.

Then Mika, wherever you are, and if you can even hear me, don't be angry with me, much less with Hikaru.

She just misses you a lot.

Notes:

Soooo, actually I intended to write much more than that, but I ran out of ideas and decided to leave it as it is. I'm kind of incapable of writing long texts lol (for now)

I've been obsessed with Bioman for months now and these girls won't leave my head. I absolutely LOVE creating scenarios about them and exploring what I think they would feel about each other. It's so fun and I love them so much :(

And also I feel a genuine, immense grief for Mika. So maybe, just maybe I projected a little bit of my feelings onto Jun while I was writing.

I really want to write more about them instead of just daydreaming, so... perhaps you can expect more from my work here soon :)
