Chapter Text

fuck. why did I even come here?

Is what Wilson thought as he stood in the kitchen of some dumb party Brando just had to drag his ass to. Now the bastard completely abandoned him! He was stranded, feeling isolated from everyone else here, but most of all,

confused.

Wilson promised he wouldn’t do anything to make it seem like the two were dating. No holding hands, no kissing (Duh.), not even hugging! And Wilson agreed to all of his rules, he can still hear Brando’s voice echoing in his mind

“Don’t embarrass me.”

“Don’t talk about us, whatsoever.”

“And especially, don’t mention my sexuality.”

What was the point of saying all that if you were just going to leave? Like he always did.

With a sigh, Wilson started walking away to attempt to find Brando. He was most likely wasted, huh? The loud music shook the house. The overlapping voices and the smell of cigarettes and alcohol made Wilson’s head hurt. How do people do this so often?

He walks hesitantly into the living room, hoping to bring no attention to himself. Seems like that worked. But instead, something catches his attention.

Brando, sitting awfully close to a girl Wilson has never seen, trading drinks, swapping their red solo cups. A simple gesture, it meant nothing.

Except for the fact that Brando’s hand was on her thigh, and she was so obviously checking him out! She looked him up and down as she took a sip of his drink.

Wilson’s face morphed into shock when he saw this. And for a moment, he stood there, watching it play out. Brando hadn’t noticed him yet.

“Mmh, that’s good. What was that?” The girl said as she handed Brando his drink. She had a sultry voice. Wilson couldn’t tell if she was forcing it or not.

“A Vodka Cranberry,” Brando muttered, a smirk on his face.

His dumb, handsome, face.

The next thing Wilson witnessed made his face fall completely.

It seemed as if she was finally doing something she was holding back, the girl pulls him close, her hand landing on the small of Brando’s back, and pulls him into a kiss.

Wilson’s shoulders fell, his face dropped. He could already feel his eyes starting to water.

Then the realization hit.

This was the first time he accompanied Brando to a party. Who knows how long he’s been doing these kinds of things. Hell, he could’ve fucked people here!

Wilson couldn’t take it. He ran, which was unlike him. But he ran away, to the backyard.

This caught Brando’s attention, and then made him realize that Wilson saw all of that. He completely forgot he brought him here!

He shoved the girl away, leaving her confused.

“Sh- Shit. Sorry,” Brando mumbled and quickly got up, and chased Wil outside.

Luckily, nobody else was out there, except for Wilson, standing there on the porch with his arms crossed. He wasn’t facing the door.

Wilson could tell it was Brando. He could smell him from a mile away.

He was pissed, practically seeing red. Which was unlike him. He was pretty agreeable and didn’t get angry often. Honestly most people thought he was a doormat. Wilson sort of agreed.

“Brando, what the hell was that?” Wilson asked, not looking at him. Possibly to hide his tears, or maybe he didn’t want to see Brando’s face, in case all his anger faded away as usual.

“W-Wil. I-.. I got carried away. It was just trading drinks!” Brando’s voice made it obvious he was close to wasted.

“She kissed you,” Wilson said flatly.

“D-Doesn’t mean I enjoyed it!” Brando counter. Of course, he didn’t actually apologize, and just countered Wilson’s anger, with.. more anger.

“I watched it happen! You obviously did!” Wilson bursted out. He finally turned around to face Brando. Tears rolled down his cheeks.

“How do I know you haven’t been replacing me with other girls every time you go to parties?! Have you ever had sex with anyone but me?! How am I supposed to trust you after this…?”

Wilson immediately regretted ever bursting out like that. He was scared of making Brando mad, he knew about his tendency to escape when things got too much for him, and he couldn’t let that happen again. But what if this was the final straw for him? He could go months without seeing Brando, but permanently? Never. Deep down, he needed Brando like he needed air.

“I-… I would never go that far, Wil. I thought you would know that.”

“I thought I did. But now… I’m not so sure.”

Wilson looked down, before down a step and sitting down on the top step of the porch. Brando did after, making sure to keep his space.

“Look- fuck. I… I’m sorry, Wil.”

Wilson’s eyes widened slightly. He felt like he’s never heard Brando say those words.

“You are…?” Wilson hesitantly asked.

“I am. And if you’d like to know… I’ve never even kissed anyone at these parties. Except today, I guess,” Brando didn’t seem to happy with himself, by the way he was talking. Wilson was glad.

Often, Brando wouldn’t apologize. He would leave the house for a couple hours to blow off some steam or smoke, then by the time he came back, both of them weren’t really mad anymore. That was for smaller arguments though… when it was a big fight… Wilson didn’t want to think about that now.

“Promise?”

“Promise.”

“That’s… a relief. But, uhh…”

Wilson hesitated asking another question.

“Go on.”

“Why’d you bring me in the first place, if you were just going to abandon me?”

“Right. Forgot about that,” Brando glanced to the side, awkwardly scratching the back of his neck.

“I guess I just wanted to get you out of your shell a bit. You’re like.. really lonely.

“No I’m not!” Wilson butted in.

Brando chuckled at that. “Yes you are. You have like, two other friends beside me.”

“That doesn’t mean I’m lonely. I see them a lot.”

“Whatever you say, I guess.”

“Alright, that explains that… but why’d you leave me?”

“Right. That too. Well, just… I thought hanging with you, one of us would get handsy, or get wasted and do something stupid… mostly me.”

“Wow. Finally admitting you do stupid things when drunk?” Wilson counters sarcastically.

“Shut up. I said both of us,” Brando rolls his eyes, though he’s holding a smile back.

“Oh come on, we both know I don’t have the guts to even get tipsy.”

“Oh really? Well I don’t,” Brando grins smugly.

“Hm.. well I would prove you wrong, but I’d rather not go inside again.”

“Music too loud?” He asks casually.

“Everything’s too loud in there. And it smells terrible,” Too which Brando chuckles slightly, and they both fall silent.

Wilson glanced away. It seems that Brando had scooted closer, purposely or not. He was just close enough to lean his head onto his shoulder, but he was unsure if it was alright. They were alone, but Brando might push him away. But nonetheless, he went for it anyways.

He felt Brando tense up under his head. He couldn’t see his face, but it was probably shocked. Slowly, he started to relax, and laced his fingers with Wilson’s.

They sat in silence. It wasn’t awkward, but instead it was peaceful. A break from all the noise inside, which they could still faintly hear. Brando smelled like vodka, a mix of something fruity, and cigarettes. Most people wouldn’t probably have been disgusted, but Wilson was used to it. He said it was apart of Brando’s “charm”.

“Hey, Bran…”

“Yeah?”

“Promise to not abandon me at a party again? I don’t mind going, just.. stay with me at them.”

“Yeah I will.”

So why the hell was it happening again?
