Chapter 1: The First Time I Saw You.

Chapter Text

Highschool.

The one place you're supposed to go before graduation, the one place people get more annoying, and of course;

The one place where you fall in love.

Pangi didn't believe this nonsense of course.

He glanced at the school building, sighing before walking in. He had rushed everything, his hair was messy and his bag was open. Pangi went to his locker in a bee line, opening it.

Highschool was weird, everyone wanted to be popular and everyone HATED each other. They even gave each other titles, and Pangi apparently was the 'cutest boy in the school' to the others. Great

He grunted at the idea, fishing out his books and placing them in his bag.

But when he started walking to his class, he bumped into someone, his bag falling out of reach. Just great, his day was going bad as usual.

He shot an angry glance at the person who fell onto then stopped as soon as he saw them.

The boy in front had tan skin, long luscious yellow hair that was braided, and he looked... pretty? Pangi thought he was a girl at first until he spoke.

"Oh- sorry! I didn't see where I was going." Said Zam, holding out his hand to help, "Here, I'll help you up."

Pangi would've blushed if it weren't for his glasses, he took Zam's hand and got up, "Thanks..." He muttered in embarrassment.

"I'm sure we haven't met before, I'm Zam."

"I'm Pangi."

Silence settled in for a moment, Pangi was sure Zam was blushing too, probably because of his looks. Pangi also thought he was gorgeous.

"Well, we better go to class, I'll see you soon." Zam chirped out, his voice was funny but cute.

"Yeah... I'll see you." Pangi really wanted to talk to him much longer, but his teacher would behead him if he was late again.

They both shared their goodbyes and went off their own ways, both thinking about each other.

Pangi was bored as usual in his class, blocking out what other people say and talking to his friends. But this time, Zam was in his mind.

"Jesus..." He muttered under his breath, but the bell rang just in time. He packed his bags and went to the cafeteria, hoping to see Zam on the way. And luckily, while he was eating he had noticed Zam standing with his tray awkwardly.

Poor guy.

Pangi piped up, "Hey, Zam!"

The boy looked at the direction of the voice and brightened up, sitting down with him, "Thank goodness I found you, I was starting to think I'd have to eat with the rude kids."

They both giggled like children, eating with each other while trash talking mean teachers. Pangi learned that they both had the same interests, which was fun, but he found himself falling more and more in love for Zam.

"Wemmbu's super mean to be honest..." Zam complained.

"He is!!" Pangi had the same thoughts about Wemmbu, "I think he's a narcissist."

They laughed out loud again, with Zam almost falling and attracting attention to other students who were staring at them in confusion.

For the first time in months, Pangi has a friend who actually matched his interests and didn't judge his energetic self.

But of course, all good things have to stop, the fricking bell rang and they had to part ways, Pangi was close to dragging Zam with him to class, but when he reached his class... Zam shared the same class!!

He quickly sat with Zam cheerfully, both of them sharing a wide grin.

"I'm so glad that we could sit together again!!" Zam giggled out, wrapping his arms around Pangi which made him melt into the embrace.

Pangi could only let out a lovestruck giggle as he was hugged, his arms embracing Zam again.

For the rest of the class they were just spewing bullshit and rage baiting the teacher... which led them into detention. It didn't matter though, they were together.

The worst part was when school ended, so they had to go their own ways. Pangi felt like meeting Zam was the best thing that happened in his life.

Once Pangi reached his dorm, he just fell into the bed in despair, staring at the ceiling. Pangi had a weird feeling in his heart... was it love? No, it couldn't be.

He had remembered that he had shared his number with him. Pangi pulled out his phone and decided to send a message to Zam (or Zammy since he set his contact like that)

"hiyaa :)" He excitedly texted out, waiting for an answer.

After what felt like a year (it was just one minute) Zam responded with a "HIIHIHIHIII!!!!!!!!"

And for an hour they had been calling, both of them been laughing out loud, rolling around and wheezing. But they had to end it because the security caught them calling late at night.

But they'll meet again.
