Work Text:
The pour of the sky pummeled down while it created pitter patter noises once it touched the ground. The night seemed to stretched for those who yearned to stay up late. The Feles dormitory is as cozy as it seemed, the banners rustled and the candles flickered each time wind passed through it, the students huddled to each of their own groups.
Some of them played board games while others watched and cheered once a player had won, while the rest read books quietly in the corner, sometimes also accompanied by students who did the same.
Graecie held a small quaint box in her hands, her bells jingles with each hop she took. She softly hummed a song only familiar to her. She had a smile on her face and her eyes twinkled like stars upon the sky as she looked around the dormitory.
Another bell jingled as she singled out a student in her eyes. This individual had a unique skull mask and a black capelet that had its hood momentarily down.
The little lamb approached him, mumbling the words 'hop, hop' as she bounced towards Avid who was quietly sitting in a corner with a book in hand. His eyes was focused on the book, giving the impression that he has blocked out all the noise around them. Graecie decided that she is going to sit down on a chair beside him.
Avid glanced at her and nodded in acknowledgement before continuing to flip the page of the book, the girl smiled and placed the box on the table. And for now, she simply enjoyed her silence.
Graecie opened the box that revealed many trinkets, ornaments, and strings. She has decided to basically make friendship bracelets for everyone in Feles, oh blessed bells! It will be a nice thing to bring everyone together—she thought.
She picked up a string, tying the other side and chose a bead. Graecie thought hard on what bead would suit her friend Bubbles that a slight frown had began slowly forming on her happy face—no matter though! an idea had just bloomed.
"Oh blessed bells, thank the Shepherdess!" she gleefully whispered to herself, careful enough not to disturb the tranquility of her dorm mate.
She continued making the bracelet—this one was especially just for her dear fried, Bubbles. The beads she picked for him were colored in pink, black, and yellow, while the main ornament was an orange cat. She glanced at her feline friend by the side, he was currently cheering for Sausage who was playing against someone competitively.
She felt shockingly protective over Bubbles, her friend had no memories of his past whatsoever and he could not even remembered his name! At the same time, she felt a deep sense of worry for him, how lonely must it feel to not remember your flock.. oh how lonely..
Graecie deeply hopes that the Shepherdess could help Bubbles recover his memories soon.
On the brighter side of things, she also thanks the Shepherdess for guiding her to him. He was a great friend and he helped her a lot! Graecie is also sure that the Shepherdess introduced her to him so that she could personally guide him to the Light. Her bells jingled, bringing her further more joy—oh blessed bells indeed!
The rain echoed through their dormitory as the night continued to settle in yet the loud joyous cheers and laughter from the students of the academy was much more louder.
Graecie finished her first bracelet after the last pink bead when a new problem had dawned her.
She forgot to bring the scissors.. she doesn't have any ways to cut the string, she looked around and sighed. The classroom which she had found the materials is too far away from their dorm, she would have to walk to the other side of the academy..
Then just in time, a voice beside Graecie startled her—she whipped her head to the source of the sound and saw Avid looking at her with a soft smile.
"Oh uhm.. sorry to startle you Graecie, I just noticed you needed something to cut that..?" Avid had placed their book down, handing her a simple looking dagger.
Graecie couldn't help but be worried for him, won't he accidentally hurt himself with the dagger? nonetheless, the girl rather not use such harmful and dangerous object meant to harm people but she assumes it should be fine, she's not using it for harm after all.
"Oh blessed bells! may the Shepherdess bless you—truly!" Graecie held the dagger between her hand while the untied bracelet on the other, she feared that she may harm herself.
She carefully sawed the dagger through the string, although, the blade was already sharp enough so it was quite an easy feat to do.
"Thank you Avid, now I can finish the bracelet for Bubbles! Blessed bells!" she said in a sing song tone while ringing the bells on her hand, the jingles really fills her with so much bliss. Everyone is truly so kind to her, the Shepherdess blesses her greatly—Graecie thought.
"Of course, you're welcome" Avid smiled back st her and hid the dagger once again after she gave it back to him before continuing the book they had been reading.
"You know! I'm making a bracelet for everyone in Feles and then for Vulpes, and then for Lupi—bracelets for everyone!" Graecie thanked the Shepherdess for showing her the quaint box, oh blessed bells!
"That's such a nice thing to do" Avid replied, saying nothing about not trusting anyone this time.
"Mhm! I hope it helps bring everyone together more!" she said as she tied the ends of the bracelet together, finally completing it.
Avid said nothing and only continued to read, Graecie didn't mind—in fact, she already knows which person she should make the next bracelet for. The bells on her hand rang and its sound echoed around them each time her hand moved, the rings never failed to bring her joy.
The night may have been filled with the cries of the sky, the weather may have been cold and sad, it may have stretched on for a long time but the academy was certainly not filled with sadness. Not when the dorms were filled with cheers and laughter, not when it was filled with comfort.
Graecie prayed to the Shepherdess that day, she prayed for such times to not be forgotten and to be experienced once more.
The Feles dormitory is now seen with colorful bracelets on their wrists, everyone of course loved it, a certain guy with a skull mask was reluctant on wearing it at first but eventually gave in. And Graecie plans to make more for her fellow schoolmates.
