Notes:

Work Text:

Since conception, Kastos has always been seen as “weird”. Other people never really got him. Well, everyone except for Martha. Kastos wife of 50 years has had a special talent for understanding her husband.

Back in school when everyone would make fun of poor Kastos for talking to plants and spending hours sitting alone in the garden. Martha pretended to understand Kastos’ love for his plants, but the truth is, she’s jealous. Jealous of Fig. Jealous of all the attention he gets instead of her. He’s a tree that’s been with Kastos since freshman year. But Martha hated it, and would do anything she could to keep him away from that tree.

But today that changed. Martha was peacefully doing her morning jog, until a solid piece of shit came flying directly at her face, breaking her neck instantaneously. Kastos was devastated, heartbroken, but most of all… lonely. He needed someone to confide in. Here enters Fig.

Fig had known Martha all his life, but didn’t really understand her. It seemed like she had an unprecedented distaste towards him. Often sneering at him across the room or stealing Kastos away while he was tending to Fig. That’s why when Fig saw Kastos devastated about Martha, he couldn’t quite care about it as much as he should’ve. The couple of days that pass by were gloomy and devoid of conversation. Until one day, Kastos passed by, mumbling under his breath sadly “I wish I had someone to talk to.” As he tended to his roots.

In that moment Fig knew, he needed to help the person who grew him, the man who cared for him, his caretaker of 40 years. And, truthfully, the love of his life. So fig wishes hard, he wished and he prayed and he begged… to become a human. A better version of himself. Capable of a more intimate form of Kastos’ love.

His wish came true. But not in the way he expected the way he thought. He did became a human, he was a man but with more… feminine features. Dressed in a light pink plaid skirt, a baby blue crop top branded with “BAMF” on it, and white Mary Janes that were carefully decorated with a bow. Tight, dark brown curls puffed up on top of his head. As fig realized what happned to him, he formed a sour expression, big doe eyes with irises resembling the raging lava of a volcano. He had a flat nose, but still a sizeable tip, cute enough to boop. Two toned pouty lips, coated in saliva after he had nervously been biting the bottom one this whole time.

Kastos turned back around, and nearly passes out from what he sees. There is now a 6’6” femboy where there used to be a tree. Kastos was shocked, but also a sense of hope filled his chest. With Martha gone, he could now confront his true feelings. His feelings for fig.

“W-wow fig… I uh, I don’t know what to say.” Kastos huffs out, staring Fig up and down.

Fig blushes bright red, resembling a tomato. “Good or bad?” Fig inquiries looking into his companions eyes.

“Good~” Kastos smirks, shooting a harsh glare his way. “C’mere…” he beckoned to Fig, purring under his breath.

Fig and Kastos connected intimately. Kastos realizes, this is what he wanted all along. Fig, a femboy. To be honest he’d take him in tree form too, but this is more fulfilling.
