TW: (VERY LONG ONESHOT)

“Oh my god! N-NO!”

Shota had already started running towards the scene, but out of nowhere came the R-Rated Student, dropping the medkits she had been helping bring over and closing the distance between herself and the target with surprising speed.

The Erasing and Voice Teens hesitated to exchange a look of shock as to how she had gotten here so quickly until they saw Tensei offering a thumbs-up, and then they ran after their friend to help her.

“SHIRAKUMO!!!!”

“HEY, OBORO!!!!”

“Obo’, c’cmon! No no no no no no no! NO! HEY, IDIOT IF YOU DIE ON ME I WILL RESSECURET YOU JUST TO KILL YOU AGAIN!!!”

“Huh? N-Nemuri?!” The Cloud-Quirked Boy’s head whipped around at the sound of his crush’s voice, and when he saw where she now pointed above him, he saw the debris coming only to freeze up.

“Shit! Plan B, guys, move around! ENGINES, GET YOUR MOTOR-OIL ASS OVER HERE I NEED ANOTHER LIFT!”

“I’m comin’, Kayama-san, hold on!” The oldest Iida child came speeding onto the scene, catching her around the waist and letting her hop onto his back.

Accelerating… faster and faster and faster an-

“ON YOUR MARK, NEM’!” Shota and Hizashi had tried to use the Voice quirk to explode as much rubble as was coming down on their teammate, but there was still one larger chunk of stone that refused to be brought down.

“Three… Two… ONE! TENSEI, NOW!”

Tensei slammed the metaphorical brakes on command, allowing the velocity to propel Nemuri from his back across the distance to where she managed to successfully tackle Shirakumo out of the debris’ hypocenter.

Their bodies slammed into the cold, hard cement of the ground, the impact knocking them both unconscious, but their companion was alive, and that was all that mattered.

Hizashi breathed a heavy sigh of relief, and Tensei laughed as the weight of what could have happened set in, but Shota was the only one who saw the next danger and shouted,

“YOU’VE GOTTA BE KIDDING ME, LOOK OUT!!!!”

The larger piece of the building had broken off into comparatively smaller, but still lethal pieces, and they were coming down faster than even an Engine quirk could run.

“They’re too far up there for me to use my Voice!”

“Out of range of my capture weapon, too! Who’s gon- Oh my god…” He let out a groan as he saw who and who else both came flying to help.

Two brilliant flashes, one of gold hair and blue eyes, and the other green eyes and seafoam hair, came smashing through the chunks of rubble. A younger man and an even younger girl landed with 10/10 gymnastics precision right next to the out-of-commission high schoolers, grinning as the halves of the stone fell on either side of them.

The other two applauded, but Shota rolled his eyes. “Well, I should have known you would come with him, if he came.”

A scoff from the girl, who tossed her chin-length hair and stuck out her tongue at him.

“Look, just because I’m not in high school yet doesn’t mean I can’t do fun things! Plus, Oboro’s my cousin, y’know!”

“Yeah, I know… It’s jus- Ugh, how did you even help Yagi-senpai break through the rocks? Your quirk is next to useless in a situation like this!”

The Outburst Middle-Schooler’s shoulders rose and she stepped up ready to throw hands, but the younger man held her back with a gentle hand to the shoulder and a chuckle.

“Alright now, Young Fukukado, let’s not allow any more injuries this afternoon. We had an agreement that you would behave if I let you tag along.

To answer your question, Young Aizawa, I temporarily transferred part of the stockpiling ability to our laughter-based friend here and on the way here showed her how to build up her energy enough to aid in Detroit-Smashing the oncoming debris!”

“You gave her One-For-All?!!! HER?!!!” Shota was in disbelief, flashing his younger rival a glare. Emi only made a face at him and then knelt to check on her best friend and relative, adding with an attitude,

“For the record, it’s not that fun to do it! My whole arm is shattered, if you didn’t notice!” She winced as she showed her entirely purple left limb, the broken appendage dangling rather comedically.

“And I heard this weird voice reminding me how to focus. Some old lady with a beauty mark and a ponytail. She told me to say hi to you, Sho-kun.”

“And you transferred your schizophrenia! Her mom’s gonna kill me if she goes as crazy as you!” Hizashi and Tensei both stood on either side of him, but no restraint was required as the teen simply left to direct the medical team to this location.

The others laughed while Emi grumbled, but the ride to the hospital was quieter.

Shota and Hizashi, especially, became more reserved, shock settling into their systems realizing they could have lost both their friends forever.

(FIFTEEN YEARS LATER)

“Anyways, so, your assignments today will b-”

*tap tap*

*meow*

*tap tap tap tap*

Nemuri looked up from her schedule to glare at the middle-front of the classroom. “Young Kaminari, if you brought a cat in here God help me I am calling your parents!”

“Ha, I-I wish it was me, Sensei, but nope-on-a-rope.” The Electrocution Student shook his head with a shrug, even showing his empty desk and backpack to prove it.

“Really? Well, who’s making that tap-”

*BAM* A more startling sound as someone hit glass incredibly hard.

*MYA*  The meowing was louder, too.

Only then did it click, and the R-Rated Heroine instantly broke a smile before heading to the window and rolling up the blinds.

“It’s cold out here, Sweetheart, lemme in!” Class A gasped as they saw a man only slightly below their teacher’s age perched beyond the sill, cross-legged on a fluffy white cloud and holding a tabby cat.

“Heh, I’m clearly in the middle of work, Hon’, did you have to come in through the third-story window when there’s a front door?”

“Haha, well, what’s a quirk like mine for? Isn’t my quirk amazing? Can Sushi and I come in now? You forgot your lunch so I packed you a better one~...”

A sigh, but her eyes sparkled. “I suppose so, but only if you behave.”

“No promises!” As she opened the window, the man floated in and dropped to the floor with a grin to all twenty students. "Does anyone have a towel?" It had been thunderstorming outside.

"YEAH!" Denki perked up now, tossing the Cloud Hero a clean towel from his gym bag.

“Ah, thanks, Bud! So this is the latest batch of heroes, eh? How are all of you, Kiddos?”

“We’re well, thank you, Mister…?” Mina cocked her head confusedly.

“Loud Cloud! Oh my gosh I’ve been dying to figure out his stats for months now!” Deku already had all of his notebooks out and was flipping through pages with lightning speed. “He’s alumni here at UA just like Kayama-, Aizawa-, and Yamada-sensei! Also Ms. Joke’s cousin!

Sir, can I just say your Cloud Cover move is so cool! You got an entire orphanage evacuated and none of the attackers noticed a thing!”

“Ha! Well, pleasure to meet another fan, and you’re the kid who breaks his fingers…?”

“Hah… W-What?” Bakugo in front of him snickered.

“Alright, that’s enough annoying my kids, Obo’, you said you brought my lunch?” Nemuri moved to his side and gave him a small look, but with the lip bite it was difficult to come off as stern.

“Mm? Oh, yes! Here it is, M’Lady!” Out of one of his other clouds popped a beautifully-wrapped bento box, and this he presented to the History Teacher on one knee like a proposal. “Sushi wanted to add some… chocolate chips… but I cleaned it out before packing the real food, heh.”

The children watched their teacher blush uncontrollably, but she still tried to hide it as she playfully swatted him away, accepting the bento with a laugh.

“Aw, well, how sweet of you both~... And hello, Darling, how are we?” She patted the tabby cat behind the ears, and the animal purred and licked her hand affectionately.

“No pets for me? Kidding, kidding… But do I at least get a kiss?” He had stood up and now leaned in with a smirk.

“Ah, i-in front of the kids?”

“Last I checked you never cared where or when… or how… I kissed you in front of people?” The slight innuendo did not evade the class, who all looked at each other with dropped jaws.

Only Shoto muttered, “We shouldn’t be that surprised…” While Nemuri agreed with her boyfriend’s logic as she gave him one short kiss before trying to pull away.

“Ahp-bup, that’s all? One more…” Second kiss, third, and only then did he release her with a tender press of lips to the back of her hand, before he signed a quick autograph for Deku and pointed to Ochaco Uraraka with a wink.

“I saw your internship application, you’re hired if you still wanna come on patrols! Excited to see ya in the field, Uravity!

Alright, g’bye, Kids, stay in school! Nem’, the usual date tonight~?”

“Of course, Obo’. Now get on with you and let me do my job for Heaven’s sake!”

“As you wish, My Queen! Goodbye, goodbye, parting is such sweet sorrow!” He pretended to faint, actually just backflipping expertly over the window sill.

Sushi and the clouds came following rapidly, and everyone crowded just in time to see him catch himself and the cat and zoom away into the distance.

“So fucking cool!” Deku had stars in his eyes, and Bakugo just scoffed, but he hid his own autograph behind his back.

He recognized that low-hung head, the glint of the street lights on familiar glasses. Oh, oh…

“H-Hey, Em’ and Sho’? Can I meet you two at the restaurant, actually?”

“Hm? Uh… D-Do you have to go?” Shota knew what going to dinner with just Emi would look like to civilians.

A smirk. “You’ll be fine, Big Guy, you’re such an expert romantic anyways, eh? ‘Kay, Cuz, definitely pull this stud btw we need his genes in the family tree okay byeeee!” He rose up on a cloud and flew off.

“Was that Nem'-chan he saw, I guess? Ha, then we can expect him not to make it to the restaurant at all.”

“D-Did he just call me a stud?”

“Uhm…”

—O

“Hey… Hey, Gorgeous, how are we this evening?”

She sniffed, looking up into upside-down sky blue eyes that shone with all care and concern for her.

“Mm, I-I’m doing amazingly, Obo’ h-how are you?” Wipe the tears away, but she knew the dripping mascara was going to show. Damn the strong lights of the city even at night.

“Much better now that I’ve got a Goddess by my side…” He came down right-side-up and walked alongside her.

After a few minutes to let the air breathe, he nudged her shoulder with his, hand finding hers.

“Are you actually okay? Your eyes are redder than just crying, so you had some fun at the bar earlier?”

A shrug, but she sniffed again and wiped her nose on her sleeve. “J-Jus’ tipsy… I-I’m fine, though.”

She tried to head off on her own, but his hand gently tugged her back to him, and he removed her glasses and smoothed her hair out of her face for her.

“There we go… Nem’, you can’t lie to me by now… On the Female Feelings Scale, “fine” is somewhere below “want to die”, so you must not be okay.

I’m coming with ya, Toots, try and stop me.” Tiny smile, which brought one to her face, as well. “You don’t have to tell me what’s wrong, now, either… We can wait until you’ve had some tea and food. You like lavender earl grey, right?”

Too sweet of a man. She was more grateful every day that he had lived, knowing deep down that he made her better in all ways.

“I-In that light… h-how I push you away… I’ll follow your lead, Oboro.”

He gave her a kiss, right there on the sidewalk in the rain.

“I’ll take care of you, Nemuri.”

One tired groan, then another. After Oboro had flopped onto the bed, Nemuri flopped on top of him, and they both let out a sigh.

“Thank God for the glorious invention of beds… Imagine sleeping on cold rock ever so many centuries ago…” The UA teacher reached around and undid her hero suit’s zipper, then sliding out of it as she pushed up and off to go change.

Oboro also discarded his suit, tossing the flight jacket and martial-arts-style outfit to the side and tugging on polar bear pj pants instead. These were a birthday gift from his favorite cousin.

His fiance of one month donned some soft, fluffy nightclothes that had little samoyed puppies all over them (gift from Emi, also,) and then they both climbed back under the covers.

“Alright! The day I’ve had!” Oboro was ready to vent his heart and soul out after the apparently catastrophic patrol and office hours he had endured, and as he put his face down in a pillow and screamed into it, it became clear just how done he was with all of it.

A giggle escaped his female companion, who reached out and rubbed his back comfortingly.

“Well, how about you tell me all about it? Here, the lights…” She sat up enough to turn the lamps low and then sent Sushi to swat at the room’s switch, creating a much darker and cozier atmosphere.

The feline then hopped up beside his owners and curled at their feet as Oboro moved his head from his pillow to her lap, huffing once more before agreeing with a yawn,

“M’kay… First, I love my interns but Young Uraraka threw up like eight times in one hour! Her quirk is incredible and it’s clear she has such skill but she’s so much like her cousin! What’s his name…? The air-walking kid and his sister?”

“Heh, would have assumed you’d remember them since our friend group practically raised them. The Shimura Siblings? Tenko does have a sensitive stomach, too. Like cousin like cousin?”

“Mhm. Strong but queasy as hell… It must run in the family.”

“Most likely does. Anyways, anything else?”

“It’s not half of it, yes. Then, after cleaning Uravity up for the eighth time we finally took the villain down, then these other goons from a different bad guy came on and it was like, a three hour takedown!

I don’t even know what kind of quirk it was! This weirdly tiny horned beetle and its shadow-like siblings… there was also this spider with a little red cloak that spit silk-like webs?

It was like fighting video game characters and I think I got void-like goo in places there shouldn’t have been void-like goo.

And  then so much paperwork to fill out for all of it! I don’t care about the damn hero points I just wanted to get home to you~...mmph.” A moment of silence as he just drew all the blankets over himself and stayed there like that, head in her lap and relaxing only when she began running her fingers through his cloudlike hair.

“Sounds difficult. Well, you’re here now, and that’s all that matters, mm?” She lifted his chin enough to lean down and kiss him.

He returned the gesture with a soft groan. “Hmn… You’re right as always.

Oh, shit, and one more thing!”

About ten minutes later, Oboro’s words were slurred with yawns and mixed into the actions of rubbing eyes and shifting comfortably. Finally, his voice trailed off entirely as sleep finally took him.

“A-An’... I-I fucking hate spiders… ‘Zashi has a point now, I see it… God, this is so nice…” His arms wrapped around her waist. “G’night, Beautiful, see you in my dreams.”

What had she done to deserve an angel like this man was to her, she couldn’t think. But her heart had never felt as full as it did with him.

She moved until they were laying side-by-side, and nuzzled into the smooth tanner skin of his chest. Sushi got down and squeezed between their bodies, pressing a little cat kiss to both his owners’ hands, which were entwined together over the sheets.

“Mm, goodnight, Handsome. Until tomorrow.”

They were lucky to have each other, this everyone knew about them.
