Work Text:
Zorrito stood quietly as he listened to the conversation happening between Sandra and Dinky in the tree. It seemed way out his demographic, or things that didn't concern him. Probably talking about how terrible their lives were.
He had tried to tell himself his life was fine as it was, but the truth was slipping through the cracks faster and faster. Sure, he might get bullied. But that's not his fault! ...Right?
But one part if him wanted to say no. His life didn't matter, and it was, infact, terrible. He knew he shouldn't think those thoughts, but they just kept slipping. He should just give up and die-
"ZORRITO!"
Sandra yelled loudly, snapping him out of those horrible thoughts. He cleared his throat, a bit shaken.
"U-uh, yeah?"
She rolled her eyes, clearly fed up with him. But, deep down, she cared about him. Alot, infact.
"Are you even paying any attention?!"
"...Yeah. Yeah, totally."
He laughed it off, a nervous smile on his face. They both turned as Dinky grabbed her backpack, putting it back on. Sandra raised an eyebrow.
"Leaving already?"
"Yeah. I have to be back by 3 o'clock."
Sandra sighed, putting a hand in her jacket pocket. She didn't enjoy the fact that Dinky was leaving so early, but it sucks to suck.
"Okay. See ya."
Zorrito waved goodbye as Dinky climbed down the steps, a nervous smile on his face. Sandra waited until Dinky was fully gone to take another drag of her cigarette. Zorrito followed. He tried not to cough as he inhaled the smoke, then blowing out.
Sandra turned to him, her hands on her hips. This caused Zorrito to turn to her, an eyebrow raised.
"...Yeah?"
His voice came off more nervous then questioning.
"...Can I talk to you?"
