I glanced over at the water as Master Kohga explained his plans about making a Construct using the Crystallized Charges the Yiga had been gathering. It was... an ambitious idea, a Construct, but perhaps it would finally defeat the swordsman, Link. Master Kohga always sent me away on missions whenever he got news that Link was heading his way, so that I wouldn't suggest a retreat or jump in to save him.
"-though we'll need more- Sooga, are you listening?" Master Kohga asked. I looked over at him.
"Yes, Master Kohga. Just... making sure there were no Lizaflos in the water, sir." I said. One of the Blademasters with us, Ruan, crossed his arms.
"Lying to the Master, Sooga? How... treasonous." he said, probably smirking under his mask.
"We have 456 Crystallized Charges, and, if I did the math correctly, we'll need 550 Charges, so we'll need 94 more." I said. Master Kohga laughed.
"And that's why he's my Right Hand! Taking in every detail while keeping me safe!" he said, patting my arm. I bowed low to him.
"I am your blade and shadow, Master." I said, standing straight again. Master Kohga started explaining his plans again.
He was explaining how the Construct should have the Yiga Eye on it, when someone shoved me.
Into the lake.
The audacity.
I hit the water, and tried to swim up.
Depths, I couldn't swim.
I heard the sound of Kohga yelling, trying to give me advice, while the Blademasters tried to find something to get me out of the water... but one of them was laughing.
Ruan. That son of a prophet, I'm going to kill him... to the death or something.
Master Kohga's ability to make threats was rubbing off onto me, it seemed.
I needed to focus.
I tried to follow Kohga's advice, kicking my legs and using my arms to push water underneath me, and managed to surface, taking deep breaths.
Air. Sweet, sweet air.
SPLASH!
I turned, and saw Ruan in the water. Master Kohga started laughing, and the Blademasters threw me a rope. I quickly grabbed it, and pulled myself out of the water, and back onto dry land.
Master Kohga immediately hugged me, despite the fact that I was soaking wet.
"Sooga! Don't ever do that again!" he wailed.
"I-i'm fine, Master." I said, shivering.
"HELP!" Ruan yelled. Master Kohga glanced at each other, then Master Kohga spoke.
"You can get yourself out. Back to the Hideout!" he said, pulling out some paper teleportation charms, handing some to me, since mine were probably destroyed by the water. We threw them to the ground, and disappeared, heading back to the Hideout at Karusa Valley.
We reappeared in the inner sanctum, and Master Kohga gently pushed me.
"Go change into a dry uniform, bud. I'll start drawing designs for the Construct!" he said. I nodded, heading to my room within the hideout.
Dry uniforms. Another under-appreciated thing.
