Work Text:
"Father... Your mother is half garlean, right kupo? So why are you working against the empire kupo?"
The viera who was calmly fixing his make up until few seconds ago looks stunned at the moogle's question.
After few seconds a placid smile comes back to his face.
"Since when does my cute mochi cares about motives, this was a question you should have asked from the start, Mog!"
"Mog doesn't care about the motives, kupo! Mog would have done everything you said regardless, kupo! Mog just got curious to know more..."
Rhegion lovingly brushed the moogle's ear
"It's fine, i'll tell you. "
"I never met her, but mom was close to her great grandmother. She often told her about the garleans of her time... Of the garleans before Solus..."
Rhegion's ears drooped, a sad expression on his face.
"Farmers, resolute people that struggled but came out victorious. Their skills and minds keeping them alive after being driven away from their home to a cold wasteland"
Rhegion got up from his desk to pick up and hug Mog in comfort.
"Normal people... Good people! People that my mom would be proud to call her own! I want to give that pride back to her"
Mog gets a complicated expression on his face, unconsciously sinking in the hug.
"Is it possible, to go back to that kupo?"
"Not right now... Garlemald was build on chains of their own blood. Those chains bind them to the past, it freezes them for fear of what they lost in the past, making them act out against the world"
Rhegion's ear shoot back up, a malicious grin on his face.
"So I, in my grace, will burn it up! It can't hold them from moving forward if it doesn't exist! Let the old garlemald come back from it's ashes and blood, let them no longer be controlled by fear and propaganda! "
Holding Mog as faraway as possible, the man starts spinning around the room.
"Kami as my witnesses the empire will fall! Kami as my witnesses we will be able to live in the open"
"No more hiding and spying, kupo!"
The moogle replied cheerfully despite barely holding back his motion sickness.
