A Dream Worth Sharing

Summary:

Billy leaned in, resting his fluffy white head gently against DogDay’s shoulder. “You make every day feel like a good dream. And I wanna keep sharin’ ’em with you. Long as you’ll have me.”

DogDay wrapped his arms around the ram in a big, enthusiastic hug, nearly knocking them both over. “Always! Every single day!”

The meadow glowed softly under a sky painted in pastel pinks and golds, the kind of perfect afternoon that only existed in daydreams. DogDay bounded through the tall grass, his orange fur shining and his sun-shaped pendant bouncing with every happy step. His tail wagged so fast it was almost a blur.

“Billy! Hey, Billy!!” he called out, voice bright and full of excitement.

From beneath a large shady tree, Billy Shanks lifted his head. The black-faced ram was leaning back casually, one hoof behind his head, the other tapping a rhythm on his knee. His white wool looked impossibly soft, and the small brown horns peeked out from between the fluffy tufts. The white wing pendant on his chest caught the light as he smirked.

“Well, if it ain’t the sunshine himself,” Billy drawled, his voice warm and teasing. He stood up slowly, brushing a few blades of grass from his white outfit. “What’s got you bouncin’ like a rubber ball today, Doggy?”

DogDay skidded to a stop right in front of him, nearly tripping over his own feet in his eagerness. “I had the best idea ever! Since our friends finally stopped hiding from each other, we should do something together. Like… a big group picnic! Or a game day! Or— or maybe just you and me first? To… you know… plan it!”

Billy’s dark eyes softened. He could see the hopeful sparkle in DogDay’s eyes and the way his ears perked up. The confident ram felt something warm bloom in his chest — the same feeling he got every time DogDay smiled at him like that.

“Heh. You’re really somethin’, you know that?” Billy stepped closer and gently ruffled the fur between DogDay’s ears with his dark hoof. “Alright, leader. Just you and me first. Lead the way.”

They walked side by side through the meadow, shoulders occasionally brushing. DogDay chattered nonstop about all the fun things they could do — games of tag with Hoppy, painting with Crafty, maybe even a cooking contest with Picky(though Billy warned he might steal all the mangoes for Mango Tango). Billy listened with that half-smirk of his, occasionally adding dry jokes that made DogDay laugh so hard he had to hold his sides.

Eventually they reached a quiet hill overlooking a sparkling stream. DogDay had secretly prepared a small picnic blanket earlier. On it sat a basket filled with vanilla-scented treats, fresh fruit, and a few sunflower seeds Billy secretly loved.(only Day knows it)

“You planned this?” Billy asked, raising an eyebrow as they sat down.

DogDay’s cheeks turned a little pinker. “Maybe… I wanted it to be perfect. You’re always so cool and strong for your team, Billy. I thought you deserved a day where someone takes care of you for once.”

For a moment, the usually unflappable Black sheep was quiet. Then he smiled — a real, soft smile without the cocky edge. He reached over and took DogDay’s paw in his dark hand.

“You know, Dogday… back when I was just a sketch on someone’s drawing board, I never thought I’d get to meet someone like you. Someone who shines so bright it makes even a black sheep like me feel warm.”

DogDay’s tail thumped loudly against the blanket. “Billy…”

They stayed like that for a long time, watching the clouds drift by. In the distance, they could hear faint laughter — Hoppy racing Shark, Bobby giving Fondue the biggest hug, and Mango gossiping with Kickin.(i mean they just talking) The two groups were slowly becoming one big chaotic, happy family.

But right now, on their little hill, it was just Billy and DogDay — the confident black ram with the white wool and the sunny orange dog with the golden heart.

Billy tilted his head and gently booped DogDay’s nose with his finger, just like in so many fanarts.

“Best dream yet,” he whispered.

DogDay grinned wide, pink tongue poking out happily. “And it’s only getting better.”
