Chapter 1- Ladybugs
Sunshine Sunshine,
Ladybugs awake,
Clap your hooves and do a little shake!
"What are you doing?" Princess Mi Amore Cadenza said staring in disgust at Twilight's little 'Dance'.
"Cadence! Don't you remember me? You were my foal-sitter." Twilight said bouncing with excitement
"Ah, ha." Princess Mi Amore Cadenza said glancing at her.
"It's me! Twilight!" She responeded a little less enthusiastic.
"Yeah."
Princess Mi Amore Cadenza turned to Shinging Armor, completely ignoring Twilight, "How are you?" She asked.
"I'm doing just fine, but those migranes might just be the death of me." He joked. She looked to his deep blue eyes. They reflected the pink barrier around the area, but also a slight swirl of green; her magic was working perfectly.
"However I think I'll need to get back to my guard station soon. I'm glad you're here Twily." He said giving Twilight a smile. She was sitting on the ground clearly confused by her interaction.
"That's alright sweetie, I'll walk you there." Princess Mi Amore Cadenza replied, already walking in the direction of the guard station.
"Just make sure you have enough time to meet all of Twilight's friends. I hear they are some really great ponys." Shining Armor said following her. When Twilight was out of earshot, Shining Armor asked, "What do you think of Ladybugs?"
"Is this about Twilight's childish song?", Princess Mi Amore Cadenza responded.
"No. I just want to know how you feel about bugs, and... insects."
"I don't mind insects, but I love spiders." Princess Mi Amore Cadenza replied with a wicked grin.
"Ehh, To be honest bugs scare me, especially spiders." Shining Armor replied shaking himself to get rid of the chills he felt.
"Really? You of all people?" Princess Mi Amore Cadenza replied mockingly.
Shining Armor looked back at her, "It's true, but for you- and anyone I love, I would face any monster." He said proudly.
"Any, Monster?" She teased.
"It is my duty as Captian of the guards!"
Rolling her eyes, Princesses Mi Amore Cadenza started walking away. "I'd better finish setting up the rest of the wedding. You should be able to make it to your guard station without my help." She said as she made her way to the kitchens.
Applejack-
Princess Mi Amore Cadenza arrived to see the heads of pony's bowing down to her entrance. It was something she had gotten used to, and quite enjoyed.
"You may rise." She spoke with a smile.
"Hiya, princess! Everyone is just about finished with the cake. We are just finishing up with the party food." Applejack said with excitement.
"It's Princess Mi Amore Cadenza." Princess Mi Amore Cadenza corrected as she walked over to the table. She noticed Twilight glaring at her from a pillar near the center of the room.
"Ah yeah. Princess Meeya Ah... Cadenza, please come eat the best darn apple fritter you've ever tasted!" Applejack said as she ushered the Princess over to the table. On top was a bakers dozen of bite-sized apple fritters all cooling down from the oven.
Princess Mi Amore Cadenza used her green magic to lift up one of the apple pie bites. A fragrent smell of cinnamon followed. She didn't know what she was thinking but took a bite.
It was pony food, and it would be amazing to anyone. Just not her. The food hit her tongue and tasted horrible. Just like all the other times she tried pony food. Even in the form of an alicorn it was no different. She swallowed. The food formed a sticky lump in her stomach; a stomach that was only meant to hold stolen love.
Princess Mi Amore Cadenza forced a smile "Mmmmh, those are fantastic..!"
"I just knew you would love them, Princess Mi... sorry, could you help me out a little here?" Applejack said.
"Princess Mi Amore Cadenza."
"Princess Mi Amore Cadenza. I thank you and wish you good luck with this heres wedding and all." Applejack replied. "Now I know with you brides and all you forget to eat, so here's something to fill your tummy every once in a while." Applejack said handing her a paper bag with a few apple fritters in it.
Princess Mi Amore Cadenza started walking out of the building and threw it away in an empty trashcan by the door.
Once she walked out she heard Twilight say "Did you just see that Applejack? She threw out your food, and she gave you a dirty look!"
Fluttershy-
After walking for a while, Princess Mi Amore Cadenza found herself in the palace gardens. She was guided by the sweet wedding songs of the birds.
The nearby bushes were carved into Unicorns, Pegaasuses, and Earth Ponys. No signs of changelings anywhere. A rainbow of roses were planted everywhere, no doubt for the wedding. Princess Mi Amore Cadenza followed a random path before comming to an arch. Fluttershy was only a few steps away from her and was trying to fix the pitch of a marroon bird. Next to Fluttershy was Princess Mi Amore Cadenza's changelings in their pony forms. They were quite interested in the rehersal, and laughed when a bird sang off pitch.
Princess Mi Amore Cadenza was so lost in admiration for the garden that she didn't notice. Maybe that was a good thing. The bird was trying, but it was quite annoying listening to it's song.
Fluttershy, finally noticing her gave Princess Mi Amore Cadenza a bow with the marroon bird perched on one of her wings. Princess Mi Amore Cadenza's changelings followed and moved to her side.
"You may rise." Princess Mi Amore Cadenza said with a slight smirk.
"Princess Mi Amore Cadenza, i'm sorry to have not noticed you. Would you like to hear the songs we're working on?" Fluttershy said motioning to an array of colorful birds on a golden stand.
"I would, but that one is going to ruin the entire song." Princess Mi Amore Cadenza said pointing her hoof at the maroon bird. A nod of agreement came from each changeling.
"He's just trying his best. He'll get it in no time. I promise." Fluttershy said softly, putting the marroon bird back on the stand. "Alright everyone, lets try our best for Princess Mi Amore Cadenza and her bridesmaids." Fluttershy said flying up and lifting her hoves to conduct.
The music started. It was some normal wedding waltz, but was quite beautiful to listen to. Princess Mi Amore Cadenza closed her eyes and listened. A small smile formed.
The marroon bird found the courage to sing, and once he did the music slowly started sounding worse by the second. Princess Mi Amore Cadenza's eye twiched as she clenched her teeth. Her changelings let out a fit of laughter.
"He's ruining the entire song! Why not just get rid of him?" She yelled as her eyes flashed a deep green.
"Well... we all need some help sometimes. If I won't help, then who will?" Fluttershy said trying to comfort the marroon bird who had hid itself in his feathers. His head popped out at Fluttershy's calming words.
"You're wasting your time on this. It's best to give up." Princess Mi Amore Cadenza argued. One of her changelings nodded.
"I don't think I am. Afterall every dream is worth achieving." Fluttershy replied.
"It's a stupid dream of his. He better not be at my wedding." Princess Mi Amore Cadenza said staring at Fluttershy. Her eyes turned green and scared the animals behind Fluttershy.
The animals fled into the gardens except the maroon bird who hopped on Fluttershy. He was trying to protect her from Princess Mi Amore Cadenza. "Oh, please come back little ones." She wispered as she flew after them.
Princess Mi Amore Cadenza left the garden, followed by her changelings.
Rarity-
"We need to stop by at Rairty's now that I've found you." She said as they walked off.
"Why try planning this wedding. Why not just take over the kingdom now?" One asked.
"You fool." Princess Mi Amore Cadenza growled. "If I don't follow up with this wedding, then Shining Armor's magic won't be weakened enough." She added. "And everyone won't be able to eat."
"I can't wait for our feast." Another changeling added, as they started walking up the marble white stairs.
"And you will be able to feed soon. Just be patient." She said. "Keep your voice down. The Princesses are always watching." Princess Mi Amore Cadenza added as she looked at the tower where Princess Celestia was keeping watch.
Before Princess Mi Amore Cadenza opened the door she heard Twilight say mockingly, "Please, call me Princess Mi Amore Cadenza!"
"Did someone say my name?" Princess Mi Amore Cadenza said throwing the doors open. She noticed Twilight once more glaring at her.
"Princess Mi Amore Cadenza! Let me just say I love the part I'm playing in your special day." Rairty said enthusiastically.
"Ah, ha. Are my dresses ready?" Princess Mi Amore Cadenza replied motioning to her and her bridesmaids.
"Yes! Yes, I've been working on them since I got here. I hope they are to your liking."
The dresses were lovely, and would look wonderful on Princess Mi Amore Cadenza. However, if she planned on transforming during the ceremony the dress would be too short.
"Hmm. More beading, and make the dress longer." She said sharply. She pointed at the bridesmaid's dresses. "And make those a different color or something."
"Oh, but I think they look lovely." One bridesmaid said inspecing the dress. The others agreed with a simple nod. Princess Mi Amore Cadenza glared at them.
"Change them." She said looking at Rairty.
"Yes. I'll work on that right away." Rairty replied.
Princess Mi Amore Cadenza left with her bridesmaids. As they started making their way down the stairs, she said "You're only here because I let you be. Don't interfere with my choices." She said.
"But they were lovely..." One changeling wispered.
"I would like to wear them just as they are." Another one chimed in.
"There was no reason to change them." The last one said nodding their head.
Princess Mi Amore Cadenza stopped where she was. "Fine then. All of you will go down to the crystal caves and get rid of Princess Mi Amore Cadenza. Take the dresses with you if you want. I don't want to see you until I reveal myself." Princess Mi Amore Cadenza replied clearly angry.
"Whatever you wish your highness." One replied. The changelings turned around and started walking back to Rairty's to get their bridesmaids dresses.
"On top of all my other duties I now need new bridesmaids." Princess Mi Amore Cadenza muttered under her breath.
Shining Armor-
Princess Mi Amore Cadenza ran into Shining Armor's room. He was trying on his suit for the wedding. "My bridesmaids! They said they only wanted to be in the wedding to meet canterlot royalty...! I- I thought I could trust them..." She said with a frown.
"Oh, sweetheart. I'm sorry, I should've known." Shining Armor said hugging her. Her face, hidden by his showed a sly smile.
"What am I to do? Our wedding is in a few days and I have no bridesmaids!" She said with a pout on her face.
"I'm sure we can think of something. You're very briliant after all." Shining Armor said softly, kissing her cheek. A warm sensation built up in her stomach. "How about Twily's friends become your new bridesmaids? I know they would love to." He said sweetly.
"Twilight's friends?" Princess Mi Amore Cadenza said with a glare. She thought for a moment, "I suppose it's the best option we have as of right now." Her expression changed to a sweet smile.
"I'll let them know tomorrow. How about we sit down for a bit?" Shining Armor said sweetly.
Princess Mi Amore Cadenza looked at him finally noticing his suit. It had an sash that looked oddly like Twilight's cutie mark. "Don't tell me you're going to wear that to our wedding."
"What, this? It was my favorite uncle's." Shining Armor said proudly.
"You're not going to wear that." She said firmly.
"Cadence, it's really important to me."
"It's Princess Mi Amore Cadenza."
She stared directly in his eyes. "I don't care if it's important. I don't want you wearing that."
"Sweetie, lets talk about this tomorrow." He said with a smile.
Princess Mi Amore Cadenza stared at him. "You better change it." She said before trotting off to bed.
Pinkypie-
The next afternoon Princess Mi Amore Cadenza made her way to the wedding hall. She only stopped only at the door to take note of the many balloons and confetti everywhere.
She walked into the hall to hear a loud gasp by a little pink pony. "OOH MY GOODNESS OH MY GOODNESS!" Pinkypie squealed. Shooting out of her cannon, she jumped infront of Princess Mi Amore Cadenza. "Princess Mi Amore Cadenza! Are you here to... NO! Let me guess! Play games?" Pinkypie said while juggling board games on her head and hooves. "Go over dances?" She said with a pink tutu on while doing a waltz. "Or to look at decorations!" Pinkypie said with her hoof around Princess Mi Amore Cadenza's neck, and binoculars in her other hoof. "I've been watching them alllll dayyyy" She wispered.
"Ha, ha. I suppose thats what I'm here for." Princess Mi Amore Cadenza said forcing a slight smile. She walked to the center of the hall while looking at all the decorations. There were pastel yellow, blue, and mostly pink streamers and balloons all across the ceiling. The same colored confetti was all over the floor.
Princess Mi Amore Cadenza walked up to a table where Pinkypie was already sitting with a connect four board out.
"Your turn Princess Mi Amore Cadenza!" Pinkypie said happily.
"No thanks. I'm only here to make sure everything is going well. I have no time for your silly games." Princess Mi Amore Cadenza replied pushing a piece of confetti off herself.
"How will you know if a party is fun if you don't have FUN!! It's a party!" Pinkypie replied throwing confetti in the air.
"Fine. Show me the party." Princess Mi Amore Cadenza said rolling her eyes. Almost immediately music started playing, and Pinkypie started doing what could only be described as 'interpretive dances'.
Princess Mi Amore Cadenza had to admit, they were funny to watch.
More than an hour later, Pinkypie was finally done showing her absolutely everything. "Sooooo we've been over the games, and the dances! This reception is going to be perfect!"
"For a child's birthday party."
"GASP! That's just what I thought!!"
"Ah, ha." Princess Mi Amore Cadenza replied swiftly making her exit. She needed to meet with Rairty and Shining Armor to make sure the corrections on her dress were finished.
Walking up the marble stairs to where Rairy was staying she saw Shining Armor behind her. When she got to the door, she waited for him to catch up.
"Hello there dear! I didn't see you." Princess Mi Amore Cadenza said with a smile.
"Hi there sweetie! I can't wait to see our outfits." He smiled back.
They walked into Rairty's room together
"Oh! Princess Mi Amore Cadenza. It is an honor to work on your dress once more!" Rairy said stumbling over fabrics. "If I'd know you were coming the place would be a bit more... tidy." She added looking around the room.
"That's alright. Is my dresses finally ready?" Princess Mi Amore Cadenza said as she raised an eyebrow.
"Yes!" Rairty said pointing to a mannequin halfway covered with different colored fabrics. Noticing Shining Armor Rarity gasped, "Don't you know it's quite rude to see your fiancées wedding dress before the wedding? Oh this just won't do." She added thinking deeply.
"I'm sure it's fine-" Shining Armor said glancing at Princess Mi Amore Cadenza.
"I'm sorry but I suppose you'll have to wait. I'll send your suit to your suite!" Rairty said ushering him out of the room. The door closed with a soft thud. Princess Mi Amore Cadenza let out a small chuckle.
"I'm sorry Princess Mi Amore Cadenza. Your dress has arrived." Rairty said removing the cloth with her light blue magic.
It was much longer than before, and would suit both of her forms quite well. Princess Mi Amore Cadenza walked up to the dress, dodging the fabric on the floor, and peered into the small jemstones and beads. Her refection shot back at her, reminding her of the real Cadence stuck in the crystal caves.
"How is it? Anything I need to change?" Rairty spoke frantically.
"No, it's. Lovely." Princess Mi Amore Cadenza said entranced by the craftsmanship.
"Oh, my. Thank you! People will talk about your outfits for generations to come." Rairty said. "I'm sorry to cut our time short but I have to give this to Shinging Armor." Rairty said rushing out the door with a mannequin. Around it was Shining Armor's suit.
The door closed with a thud as Princess Mi Amore Cadenza was left alone. She glanced out the tower, noticing Princess Celestia keeping watch of the barrier that encapsulated the entire area.
"If only I could get rid of both of you." Princess Mi Amore Cadenza muttered.
Siblings-
She walked back through the gardens. A lovely place to be no matter how you looked at it. Passing through the garden she noticed that Fluttershy was no longer there. Not like there was any chance she was there. The sun was starting to set, and the animals would have gone home long ago.
Going through the castle, she soon made her way to Shinging Armor's quarters. Inside he was waiting for her.
"Hey sweetie!" He said with a smile. "Rairty made some adjustments to my suit, so it could match your dress better."
"That's great." Princess Mi Amore Cadenza replied uninterested. Although she took most of the day off from planning the wedding, Pinkypie alone tired her out more than she thought. "I think I'm just going to relax in the other room" she added as she trotted off and shut the door to a smaller room.
Even though it was the smaller of the rooms in the house, it was still quite large and well furnished. There was one large window with red curtians around it, and next to it being a smaller bookshelf filled to the brim with history books. On the other side if the room was a royal red couch with golden ornate details.
It was dark outside, but she still drew the curtians. The room immediately became pitch dark as she turned back into Queen Chrysalis.
Her black hooves walked across the wooden floor and she fell across the couch. She needed to steal Shining Armor's love for Cadence soon. While laying on the couch she listened to all the sounds around her, hoping that no one would come near her. However not long after, Queen Chrysalis heard Shining Armor talking.
"Twily! Look at your big bro!" He said, his sounds muffled through the door.
"Twilight..?." Queen Chrysalis mumbled as she relunctantly pulled herself off the couch.
She heard soft trotting that followed soon after.
Slowly turning back into Princess Mi Amore Cadenza, Queen Chrysalis drew the curtians and tried to find her reflection in the glass to make sure she got all the details right. "Why must you look so complicated?" She complained.
"Hey Twily, are you okay?" She heard Shining Armor's muffled voice.
"You're making a big mistake about this whole Princess Mi Amore Cadenza thing." She heard Twilight say.
"Why must she try to ruin everything." Princess Mi Amore Cadenza muttered to herself before walking into the room.
I need to get rid of her.
"What about me?" She followed with, glaring at Twilight.
"Oh hello there sweetie!" Shining Armor said with a big grin while showing off his outfit.
"Sweetie. Let's talk for a moment." Princess Mi Amore Cadenza replied.
"Talk to you in a bit Twily." Shining Armor said, giving Twilight a smile. He walked off towards Princess Mi Amore Cadenza and met her in another room.
"It's about your sister." Princess Mi Amore Cadenza said once he entered the room.
"She is just trying to look out for me, but you know I would never cancel the wedding. " Shining Armor replied.
"Just listen to me." Princess Mi Amore Cadenza said.
"I'm listening."
"I can't seem to get away from Twilight. She is always glaring at me and don't get me started on her friends."
"Her friends are just excited, thats all-"
"Alright. Fine." Princess Mi Amore Cadenza let out a sigh. She changed her attention to Shinging Armor's outfit.
Once she noticed the sash she said, "I thought I said I don't want you wearing that."
"Honey, you know it's special to me"
"And?"
"I think I should wear it. No, I'm going to wear it."
"Are you disagreeing with me?" Princess Mi Amore Cadenza said her eyes flashing green.
"I guess I- Ouch!" Shining Armor said holding his head.
"Oh dear, it seems one of those awful migranes came again." Princess Mi Amore Cadenza said, starting to use her magic on Shining Armor. His eyes spun and turned a sickly green color. She slowly started leeching the love he had for Cadence away from him. It left a sweet taste in her mouth.
She heard Twilight run out of the building.
She turned her attention to Shinging Armor. He was rubbing his head. "Sweetie, are you doing alright?" She said in a sweet voice.
"Yeah... Thanks dearie." He replied.
Although she had done this before. Something felt... off.
Rehersal-
She awoke the next day exited for the wedding. Exited for the takeover of Equestria.
That afternoon when the sun was perfectly in the sky she made her way to the wedding hall. No annoying balloons no annoying decorations. Shining Armor gave her a loving smile before walking down the isle. Princess Mi Amore Cadenza felt and odd warm feeling. Next went Pinkypie, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rairty, and Rainbowdash all in a perfect line.
"Great job girls. Now Cadence will enter" Princess Celestia said under an arch of flowers at the end of the isle. Shining Armor stood perpendicular from her and waited for Princess Mi Amore Cadenza.
The doors opened and Princess Mi Amore Cadenza walked down the isle her hooves making a soft sound on the royal red rug that stretched the entire way.
"I'll say some words and we will then begin with the vows. Shining Armor will get the ring from his best mare." Princess Celestia said nodding to where Twilight was. Or where she was supposed to be. Shining Armor and Princess Celestia looked in shock as Twilight was gone.
"Where is Twilight?" Shining Armor said. Just then the doors opened.
"I'm right here! You shouldn't get married!" Twilight said looking at Shining Armor. Princess Mi Amore Cadenza glanced at him.
"I'm sorry, she didn't mean it-" he said to Princess Mi Amore Cadenza.
"Yes. I .Did! She's controlling my brother and taking over his life! Doesn't any pony see this?" Twilight yelled across the hall. "She has been rude this whole time and She did SOMETHING to her bridesmaids." Twilight added running up to Princess Mi Amore Cadenza.
Princess Mi Amore Cadenza looked around, unsure of what to do. Everyone else looked tward her, waiting for an answer.
"Why are you so rude to me?!" Princess Mi Amore Cadenza said. "I'm trying my best but I guess... That's not good enough for you!" She said running out of the hall.
"Run away! Get out of my brother's life!" She heard Twilight say victoriously.
As she ran, she heard the voices of Shining Armor and Twilight's friends.
Do they know who I am?
The End..?-
Eventually she made it to the gardens. She didn't know why, she just went there. It just seemed right.
Look what you've done. You didn't get rid of her when you could've and now your entire plan has failed. I have failed.
Princess Mi Amore Cadenza sat against a bush and started crying. It was a weird pony experience that she had never felt before. She had never felt much emotion in her life. Her tears flowed down her face an into the earth.
Her plans crumbled before her. What would become of her Changelings? Her cries echoed through the gardens. It didn't matter what she tried she was stuck here because of that barrier. That stupid barrier that her fiancée worked so hard on.
Soon he found her.
"Cadence!"
"Hey!"
"Please talk to me..."
She looked up her eyes too watery to make out his face, "Would you still love me now that I'm a monster?", her mascara ran down her light pink coat leaving a trail of black all over her face.
"You're not a monster. I'm sorry. I should've listened to your warnings about Twilight. I just... thought that she was better than that."
"Now that you know who I am... Just get it over with."
Do what you have to.
"What are you talking about?" Shining Armor said firmly staring into her eyes. She could see his so clearly now, her sickly green magic swirled into his.
"I love you. I would never end this marriage." He said. He looked as if he was on the verge of crying.
She looked at him. Really looked at him. "How can one pony care so much about me..?" She mumbled.
He softened at her words, "May I?" He asked.
"Do whatever you wish." Princess Mi Amore Cadenza said staring at the ground.
He sat down across from her and wiped her tears. It smeared more black mascara across her cheek. "You look so beautiful." He wispered one of his own clear tears falling down his white coat leaving no mark of makeup.
"If this was what you were hiding from me, I would love to see more of the real you." He added with a smile.
Princess Mi Amore Cadenza looked at him her eyes widened in shock. "Yeah." She whispered with a smile.
Shining Armor got up and gave Princess Mi Amore Cadenza his hoof. "How about we get up?" He asked.
They walked through the gardens, admiring the plants and animals. However Princess Mi Amore Cadenza had something on her mind. Something that she needed to finish.
Princess Mi Amore Cadenza walked into the wedding hall. Twilight was still there laying on the stairs. She had fallen asleep. Princess Mi Amore Cadenza stomped her feet on the top of the stairs forcing Twilight awake.
"Cadence... Can you ever forgive me?" Twilight asked.
Princess Mi Amore Cadenza scowled at the name.
"Goodbye Twilight." She said as green fire formed a circle around Twilight. Transporting her to the crystal caves.
"It had to be done. Sorry." She said once Twilight was completely gone.
No more mess ups.
