Wildbreak stared at the ceiling of the base, then looked at the time on his HUD.
...
"Still 1am?" He muttered aloud tired and annoyed at having been trying to get to sleep for 2 hours already. "Why can't this night go faster?!..."
He curled up tighter, offlining his optics to try and recharge once again.
How long he stayed like that?
45. Minutes.
And he still couldn't get to fragging sleep.
Sighing, he got up and walked over to Heavyclaw's sleeping form.
"H-Heavyclaw? Can you... Please wake up..?"
Heavyclaw blinked his optics online.
"What is it, young one?"
Wildbreak looked away.
"Can I... Is it okay if I sleep with you, tonight? I can't sleep and I don't want to try to wake up Dragstrip incase he gets pissed off..."
"Of course, Wildbreak." Heavyclaw replied, shifting so Wildbreak could sit at his side.
The Stunticon sat down at Heavyclaw's side, leaning his weight into the bigger mech next to him.
...
"You may not need this, but this song always helped Sabotage and Nightclaw go into recharge."
"Huh?"
Wildbreak went silent as Heavyclaw's voicebox began emitting a song.
It was just an instrumental, but it was soft.
Comforting.
"What song is that? I don't think I've heard it before." Wildbreak asked.
Well, he didn't really know any Earth songs besides the ones that Dragstrip made a playlist for when they go drive around for fun. And that was basically just stuff about driving and going fast, so...
And the fact that the music types the two mechs around him listened to most was rock and heavy metal.
"It's a videogame soundtrack called 'Home'. It's from Undertale" Heavyclaw informed.
"Huh." Was all Wildbreak replied with.
They stayed like that for a while, both of them either in silence or talking softly.
Then Wildbreak asked something that Heavyclaw didn't expect.
"Heavyclaw, you're not gonna... Leave me and Dragstrip or something... Are you?"
...
"...No, I'd never do that. You two are my world and I care for you as much as I do for my own Conjux or like I did for my Minicon's—maybe even more. So no, I'd never abandon you both. At all."
...
"Thank you, Heavyclaw..."
"No problem, Wildbreak."
...
They stayed in silence for a while, the song still repeating from Heavyclaw's voicebox.
After a while, Heavyclaw felt Wildbreak slowly become limper and his systems slow, his optics offlining.
Before the young mech fell fully into recharge, he said one last thing.
"...I love you, sire..."
And before Heavyclaw could reply, Wildbreak was asleep.
The hybrid stared for a moment at the resting Stunticon, then let out a small, goofy giggle. "He... He sees me as a parental figure to him...!"
"...I love you, too, my child."
And with that, Heavyclaw feel asleep, too.
He'd never leave them.
No matter the cost.
