Night got into the car, slowly starting it and driving to the destined "pick up" location.
Every week, the members of the Investigation institute would exchange on who would pick up Cloud from their nightly expeditions, and this week was Night's turn.
He…didn't know why it was so hard for them. They've been working with Cloud for almost 4 years now, but only lately he started to feel so…weird around them.
Night started wondering, on why are they like this when near that Cryptozoologist, what has the cryptozoologist done to make them like this, and what was the emotion that he has never felt before that they feel for the cryptozoologist.
Night got so lost in thought that they didn't even notice when they arrived at the pick up spot, He already saw Cloud waiting here, patiently.
Night stopped the car, looking around for any way of escape that wasn't just driving away at full speed. Cloud got into the car, slightly smiling at Night.
“Hi,„ Night gulped out, barely. “Back to the institute?„
Cloud nodded, buckling their seat belt. “Back to the institute.„
Right. Back to the institute, and then this is over.
“But—„ Cloud started “Could you also drive me back home? My car broke and its a long way, i don't exactly feel like walking.„
Fuck.
Night sweated, more time with this dumb idiot who made him feel butterflies in their stomach, greaaaatt.
“Mhm. Yeah. Sure. Whatever.„ Night blurted out quickly, trying to put on a cold, uncaring attitude…despite the fact that they were a mess inside.
Half of the drive was pure awkward silence, despite the fact that both of them just loved talking to each other in the institute.
Night started, attempting to start a conversation, “So, uhm…Did you find anything, y'know, interesting?„ They shifted the rear view mirror so that he could take a look at the person sitting next to them, without actually looking at them.
Clouds eyes immediately sparked up, going on a full-on ramble, “Well! I did find some signs of an Allghoi, although I'm really not sure if its actually that, as it also could've been—„
Night giggled, they thought that this ride with Cloud will be the most awkwardest thing ever, but hearing Clouds voice yapping about their passion immediately turned it into a really cozy ride.
And, now he has an idea of what he feels for Cloud.
But, is it mutual?
