Chapter Text
Regect awakens, sitting up and rubbing his eyes.
Another day of this damn school…
He checks the time; 5:42 AM.
He should probably get up. He can wake his sister up in a bit. Every minute of sleep counts for her. He’d rather not have to deal with a grumpy Moe first thing in the morning.
He grabs some clothes and hops in the shower. He decides to put on baggy jeans, a plain black t-shirt, and some plain white socks.
He brushes his invisible mullet, and then decides it’s time to wake up Moe.
He creeps up the stairs and knocks on her door. When he doesn’t hear anyone telling him to ‘screw off’ he practically body-slams the door to get in.
Moe is STILL sleeping even though he just knocked open her door.
He claps his hands together loudly and shouts “MOE! WE HAVE SCHOOL IN AN HOUR, WAKE THE HELL UP!”
Moe glares at him, and asks for 5 more minutes. She groans when he doesn’t budge, but slowly sits up. She stands and tells him to get out so she can do her hair and makeup.
Regect leaves, and heads back to his room.
He flops onto his bed, dreading the day to come.
Why even go to school? Most of it is useless anyway, not like they’re gonna need the information. Plus, it’s all so boring. Why waste 13+ years of his life on something so unimportant.
He sighs, and closes his eyes for a moment. He sits up and goes to grab breakfast.
At least they’re getting a new kid today. Hopefully it’s someone who isn’t insufferable like half the kids they already had.
It felt like he and Moe were the only kids they actually had consciousness.
He opens the fridge and grabs a carton of milk, then goes to the cabinet to grab some cereal.
He makes his breakfast, then sits at the dining table. He turns on the TV and absentmindedly watches the news, barely even awake. He got terrible sleep the night prior, since he and Moe were watching a movie and goofing off the whole time. He went to bed at about 5 PM. Not even an hour of sleep. Damn.
He finishes his food, then sets it down in the sink and washes out his bowl.
It was 6:27 by then, and he decided to clean up a bit.
Regect picked up blankets and pillows off the floor, then vacuumed the carpet. It was 6:43, so he decided he might as well go to the school bus early. Not like he had anything else to do anyway.
He told Moe to come with him, and she reluctantly agreed.
They grabbed their bags, then walked to the bus stop. They waited for a bit, mostly in silence, but they chatted a bit. The bus came, and they grabbed their bags and went to go find an empty seat.
They sat near the back of the bus, where no one really ever went, besides them.
The bus ride was silent, and Moe ended up taking a nap on the way there. He had to wake her up when the bus stopped moving and they were finally at school.
It was like they were the only silent ones, as other kids were screaming. It was 7 in the morning… How do these kids summon the energy to do that?
The kids lined up to leave the bus, Moe and Regect got off last.
They stepped into the school, trying to dodge the stampede of kids coming down the hallway.
What’s these guys’s deal?
He said his goodbyes to Moe, then walked to history class. History class was something he had an A in, so it probably wasn’t gonna be that hard. Even though he was early, he was somehow the last one there.
The teacher told him to sit next in the back corner, next to the new kid.
The kid had white hair, pale skin, black baggy jeans, a black beanie, and a white hoodie with a giant Z plastered on it. He looked like he was confident, WAY too confident for a sophomore.
He slid into his seat, placing his bag next to his desk. He unzipped it and pulled out his textbook, placing it onto the desk with a small thud. Thankfully no one noticed, or they were all just way too tired to care.
The history teacher went over a test they would be taking, since it was close to the end of the year for them.
She passed out dividers then passed out the test papers.
Regect picked up his pencil and started doing the test.
Man, this is easy as hell.
He finished the test pretty quickly, then turned it in and sat at his desk.
He stared at the wall for a bit, since there was nothing else to do.
This class is so boring, who even cares about history anyway?
The kid next to him leaned over, whispering in his ear.
“You don’t look so happy to be here, man.”
“Well NO SHIT SHERLOCK this is history class.”
“Woah, Goldilocks. Didn’t mean to wake you up from your beauty sleep.”
“Thats the wrong princess, dipshit.”
“Woah, my bad. The name’s Ze, by the way.”
“Uh.. I’m Regect.” He muttered under his breath, yet Ze somehow still heard him.
Regect was zoned out for the rest of class, but snapped back immediately snapped back when the bell rang. He quickly closed his textbook and shoved it into his backpack. He zipped it up and ended up being one of the first people out of class.
He steps out of the history room, looking for his sister, Moe.
He spotted her near her locker, and decided to go say hi while he had the time.
Kids filled the entire hallway, making it hard to cross. Regect dodged people and somehow made it to Moe’s locker in one piece. He stands next to her, and she almost jumps when she notices him.
“Hi! Didn’t expect to see you there. How was class?” She honks.
“Nothing special. It’s just history.”
Moe giggles, and checks the time on her phone. She flashes the screen over to Regect, showing him the time, and they agree that they should both be heading to class, so they aren’t late AGAIN.
They split up, and Regect goes to his next class. English.
Ugh. English. Time to go read a poem or whatever.
He walked over to class, stopping to say hi to some of his friends on the way there.
OH MY GOD IS THAT PTOLEMY? I FUCKING HATE PTOLEMY!!!
He gave Ptolemy the NASTIEST GLARE EVER before walking away, Ptolemy flipped him off and they walked away, trying not to fight for the thirtieth time that week.
Oh my god I hate Ptolemy so much I NEED to execute him oh my god.
He reached the English room before he even knew it.
He trudged into the classroom, and sat down at his seat. It was in the back, next to the window. It was easy to just zone off and not need to pay any attention to whatever bullshit the teacher was yapping about.
Bro…. This is so boring I swear if we have to read another poem-
“Hello, class, good morning! Today we’re reading a poem and thinking about what it means.”
OH MY FUCKING GOD I MANIFESTED IT I’M GONNA TWEAK OUT I SWEAR!!!
The teacher went over some stupid ahh poem, and Regect did a whole lotta nothing that period. He gazed out the window, wishing the bell would ring already.
He fidgeted with a blue pen, clicking it as he zoned out.
The teacher’s voice was just background noise to him as he pondered about why the hell this class even existed. He looked at the clock, it was almost over, then PE class.
The next few minutes were a blur, and he barely even remembered what he was doing.
The bell did its oh so familiar ring, and students started packing up. Regect set his book into his bag, being the first one out.
He stepped into the plain white and blue hallway, absentmindedly heading to the gym.
Once he was in the locker room, he changed into his gym clothes and sat near the other kids. Everyone looked like zombies, he was sure no one there had gotten any sleep, well, except for the tryhard. Looks like he was gonna be doing what he did best, taking gym class way too serious.
“Yo, kids, line up. We’re doing dodgeball today. Some of yall go on that side, some of yall come over here. I don’t really care.”
Some kids went to the left, others to the right. He was kinda just dragged along to Moe’s side, since she didn’t wanna be on opposite teams. The whistle blew and like… 5 balls came flying 50 kph at his head. He barely dodged them.
Guess who they came from? Yeah. It was Ptolemy.
That fucker and his 4 arms had shot them all at Regect.
“LOSER!!! Can’t even hit me with extra arms.”
Ptolemy didn’t respond, and just started throwing them at other kids.
Regect shot a couple at Ptolemy in retaliation. One of them hit, and Ptolemy was told to sit on the bench with a couple other juggernauts. He sat on the bench, side-eyeing Regect as he played.
Regect barely caught one that was flying in Moe’s direction. She squeaked and ran away.
Some other kids got out, and soon it was just them, some kids, most of whom he didn’t know. One kid was named… Avery? He couldn’t remember. He had barely talked to him, not at all outside of school. The other kids were complete strangers.
After about a minute, he was hit and told to sit out. He sat at one of the only remaining seats, which was next to GODDAMN PTOLEMY OH MY GOD.
They immediately started bickering about something, but started paying attention when Moe LOCKED IN.
She started picking up balls, throwing them at the kids with newfound accuracy.
“Holy crap….” Regect muttered to himself.
Pretty soon, Moe was the only one remaining on either team and had won the game. It was just in time for the bell, and the teacher dismissed them. Regect went to the locker room and changed back into his normal outfit, and then met up with Moe in the hallway.
“Holy shit Moe, that was amazing.”
Moe squeaked, then ran off to class.
Regect snickered to himself, walking to culinary class.
When he was in the kitchen, the teacher paired them up with someone random. And guess who he got paired with? PTOLEMY.
I’m actually gonna fucking die today, this bitch is ginna burn the kitchen down.
They got paired into groups of 3, so some random kid named Mason.
They were given a recipe and told to just bake some brownies, but Regect kept the ingredients FAR away from anyone else not in their group, since half the kids in the class would probably put weed in it anyway.
Ptolemy and Regect bickered the whole time, while Mason made bread in the back of the kitchen.
“Oh my god… Mason, come deal with your boyfriend.” Regect half-shouted across the kitchen.
“Mason is not my boyfriend.” Ptolemy replied a little bit too quickly to be normal.
“Guys calm down, I'm tryna make bread. >:(“ Mason replied.
Regect and Ptolemy kept bickering, eventually they finished. (No thanks to Ptolemy or Mason) and they actually looked pretty good.
Regect got to take it home since he did the work (He almost killed Ptolemy in the process) and he put them in his locker to bring home and maybe give to Moe.
Science went by in a blur, since he was only paying attention and waiting for lunch to finally arrive. He could not WAIT to get out of this class.
It seems other kids thought the same, as kids that had 4th period lunch were flooding the hallway, making it damn near impossible to get anywhere near.
Regect finally got to the lunch room, and sat down at a mostly empty table, which Moe was sitting at.
He sat across from her. She excitedly talked about her day and complained about the things that she was bothered about.
He realized he had forgotten his textbook in history class. He set his backpack on his chair and went to go grab it.
He reached the class and gave a half-assed greeting to the teacher.
He went over to his desk and grabbed his textbook off a nearby counter, just where he had left it.
He walked the empty halls, people had really gotten to lunch quickly. He sat down next to Moe, pulling his soda out of his lunchbox.
Those dumbasses thought I didn’t notice them obviously shaking my drink right in front of me.
He switched his drink and Moe’s while she wasn’t looking (she was probably distracted, as she was zoning off.)
She opened it, and the drink instantly fizzed up and shot her in the face.
Regect snickered, and Moe laughed with him.
They cleaned it up, and even Ze’s friend group was giggling among themselves.
He was surprised at the fact he had even gotten friends so early. He must’ve been good at socializing.
Well, he had no problem talking to me right off the bat. I guess I’m not surprised that he was able to slither into someone else’s friend group.
He leaned onto the table, setting his elbows on it and resting his chin on his hands.
Moe continued her yapping, and Regect listened and joked around with her.
But eventually it was time to go to the next period.
There’s no way I’m doing this right now. I’m just gonna skip.
The 2 split up, and Regect snuck out to the school's small garden, which was outside out the building.
He had gotten a key from bribing a teacher. (They were chill, so the teacher didn’t really care what he did.
Apparently, Ze knew about that spot too.
How is this guy everywhere?
Ze turned to face him.
“Well well well…” He jokingly whispered as Regect sat next to him, since it was the only chair left. (all the other ones were removed because slurs were written on them in extra thick sharpie)
“Skipping?” Regect asked.
“Yeah, ain’t no way I’m going back to class.”
“Yeah, that’s fair. Anyway, how the hell did you plan on getting back in?” Regect questioned.
