Chapter Text
“Go take a swan dive off the roof! Maybe you'll get a Quirk when you’re reborn!” Katsuki yells, spitting in Izuku’s face. Izuku stands there in shock. The corners of his eyes prickle with tears, but he wills them not to fall. Not in front of Katsuki.
“W-why would y-you-”
“Shut up, Deku. No one wants to hear your stupid ass voice anymore. Just fuck off.” Katsuki walks out of the room, laughing cruelly. “You’ll never amount to anything more than a stupid extra.”
Left alone in the classroom, Izuku finally lets himself cry. Katsuki had never gone this far before. They used to be friends. Friends. Wiping the tears from his face, Izuku pulls out an empty notebook from his backpack. Tears splattering the page, he begins to write.
‘Mom, I love you. It’s not your fault. Kacchan was right about me. Being Quirkless won’t get me anywhere. I’m doing this for my sake and yours. I love you.’
He finishes the note, his tears somewhat stopping. He takes a deep breath and tears out the paper. He shoves it in his backpack and trudges out of the classroom, having already decided his fate.
The roof deck of his apartment building is windy and cold. Izuku shivers, rubbing his arms.
“Am I really doing this?” he asks aloud. Memories of Katsuki yelling and trying to hurt him flash through his head, making tears well in his eyes. “Yes. I am.” His voice shrinks to a whisper. “I’m sorry, Mom. I wish I wasn’t such a failure.”
He steps closer to the ledge, swallowing his guilt and tears. At the very edge, he closes his eyes, takes a deep breath, and lets gravity take hold.
