Parker was always the weird kid in town. Their classmates constantly picked on them for how they looked. Ever since Parker was ten, they had worn big hoodies and baggy pants to cover themselves completely.
Through all the teasing, gossip, and whispered conversations behind their back, Parker always managed to keep a sweet smile on their face. “Kill them with kindness,”what everyone always said.
Though no one actually knew what was behind that smile.
Parker’s home life wasn’t much better. It had always been made clear that they were an accident. Their dad used to be an addict but got clean after a while. Their parents split not long after.
Their father was drafted and died in war. Parker lives with their mother, her husband Felix, his parents, and Parker’s half-brother, Hugo.
They used to live in a small rented house before the landlords sold the property, forcing Parker’s family to move in with Felix’s parents. That wouldn’t usually be a problem—but Felix’s mother isn’t all there mentally which seems to spark problems….”oh well, it’s better than being homeless” It was hard but it was better than nothing, Parker was grateful for that.
Felix was abusive and often beat Parker and Hugo.
