Work Text:

Edward glanced up from his crossword book as he heard keys in the front door to the hideout. A smile crossed his face as Two-Face entered the room, though quickly dimmed as he saw the sour mood radiating off his boyfriend. “Harvey? You okay darling?” He didn’t get a response however, Harvey chucking his mismatched suit jacket to the side and flopping onto the bed to lie across Edward. A groan left the older man, hiding his face against his boyfriend’s chest. It didn’t take a genius - not to say Edward isn’t one, of course he is - to figure out that today hadn’t been great. With a hum, Ed closed his book and placed it on the bedside table, before wrapping his arms around Harvey.

Quiet filled the room, just the faint noise of the city beyond the wall. Not feeling the tension leave Harvey’s stiff body yet, Edward shifted slightly, moving one hand to his split hair, the other to rest against his back. Practiced hands massaged at his scalp and between his shoulders, and slowly but surely, Harvey melted into the ginger. A soft noise left him, causing a grin to tug at Edward’s lips. He knew perfectly well how to unravel the crime lord so many feared. Moving both hands to Harvey’s hair, he continued running his hands through it. “Your hair is so soft.” Edward murmured, leaning down to press a kiss against his forehead.

Eddie was glad that Harvey no longer gelled his hair slick back like he used to during his DA days, rather letting it curl across his forehead in beautiful fluffy locks. Dark brown, contrasting sharply to white, matching his black and white shirt, it was truly gorgeous. Everything about the perfectly split Harvey Dent was stunning, and Edward couldn’t get enough.

“Can we stay like this for a while?” Soft spoken words finally pulled him from being lost in the beauty of his partner. Edward nodded and pulled Harvey closer, smiling as he felt the other man nuzzle his face in the crook of his neck.

“As long as you want.” If he was being honest, Edward would gladly stay forever.
