Chapter Text
“Luz, are you sure that this place will be good for me?” Questioned Aster as he, Luz and Hunter walked through an area of Bonesborough.
“Trust me, dude, Murdock’s Bistro is great!” Exclaimed Luz excitedly as she walked backwards to face the boys. “The food there’s amazing, and the hot shockolate is to die for!”
“That’s easy for you to say,” Retorted Aster. “your Titan physiology can allow you to eat stuff from the Demon Realm. Mine doesn’t.”
“No, actually, hot shockolate is actually safe for human consumption.” Said Hunter helpfully. “One time Luz brought Cami-I mean mom over to try, and not only did she not get sick from it, she actually said it tasted like champurrado!”
“Plus, it helps that the owner is actually a big fan of me.” Added Luz as the trio entered the bistro. Thankfully, there wasn’t a huge line.
“Three hot shockolates, Murdock, my man!” Said Luz chipperly when it was the trio’s turn.
Murdock, the anthropomorphic fox owner, turned to face Luz with a smile, only for that smile to fade away in an instant the moment he saw the boys.
“No.” He said in a hard tone.
“No? What do you mean, No?” Said Aster, confused. “Is it because I’m black?”
“Wha-No, why would that be the reason?” Said a very befuddled Murdock.
“So, what’s the problem?” Continued Aster. “Are you out of hot shockolate? Do you no longer serve humans?”
“I have plenty of hot shockolate, and I do serve humans. If you have the Snails, I will take them.” Growled Murdock in annoyance.
“I will, however, not serve The Golden Guard.”
