Maybe Ash was rough around the edges, but the more Musse saw of him, the more she liked him. It was plain to see that he was much smarter than his coarse language suggested at first.
And he liked to read. How could she resist a man who enjoys…literature?
He did have a certain roguish charm, what with his untucked uniform shirt and perpetual smirk. And it did amuse her so to think how it would scandalize the nobility to see a Cayenne with such an apparent ruffian.
Something told her he would share her amusement.
But underneath his brash, mouthy exterior she just knew that he had a soft side too.
And Musse was going to find it. She wouldn’t need to dig very far beneath the surface. Of that she was certain.
