Work Text:

when kisu met hui he knew.

he knew because all of sudden all the shades of grey turned into colors and he thought for a moment it was the happiest moment of his life.

*

a week later his best friend introduced him to his boyfriend, his soulmate.

“hui’s your boyfriend?”

cory starts rambling about how he met hui and how much he means to him but the question’s still rampaging inside kisu’s head.

this is all wrong.

*

the days pass by, hui and cory are living happily and kisu can’t even look at them without feeling like a car ran over him a thousand times.

this is all so, so wrong.

“you're drinking in a week day? is something wrong, hyung?” jeunguk asks him as he swallows about his fifth glass of vodka, his eyes are strained from crying and his lungs feel like they’re about to give up.

he throws up in jeunguk’s new shoes and keeps apologizing.

jeunguk says it’s alright.

“we need to put an end to your love life crisis, hyung” jeunguk blurts out and jinhong nods and whispers a ‘for real though.’

“don’t” “you didn’t even hear me out yet hyung!” “right. say it” “i have this friend–” “nope” “oh c’mon, you need to find someone, maybe hui was never your soulmate to begin with.”

kisu rolls his eyes to the back of his head but in the end of the day he accepts to see jeunguk’s friend.

daeil isn’t what he was expecting at all, he wears a red bandana on the top of his head, his bleached hair is long enough to pull of a messy bun, he’s got a bunch of tattoos and his nose is pierced but more importantly his flat humour makes kisu laugh until his sides hurt.

*

“so i was thinking…” “there we go again” daeil laughs through his nose and jeunguk flips his middle finger up at kisu.

“honestly, what’s with you two?”

kisu wears a puzzled look and daeil can only stare blankly at him “i mean, are you two dating or what?” “i guess you could say that,” daeil lights up a cigarette and looks over at kisu “it’s not like we’re soulmates or anything, right?” “yeah right” kisu responds in a tiny voice trying to sound like he didn’t have any kind of hopes about this.

daeil’s world still black and white afterall.

*

“you’ve been avoiding me for a whole week, what’s with you?” “it’s nothing” “jeunguk said it’s because of the whole soulmate thing–” “it’s not fair,” daeil stops for a moment and looks at him as if he’s telling him to finish what he has to say “it’s not fair for me to stop you from finding your soulmate just because mine doesn’t love me.”

they fall into deep silence for a moment and when kisu thinks he’s about to drown daeil catches his hand.

“i never cared about finding my soulmate,” he gives kisu a peck on the lips “and if yours doesn’t love you... well then, it’s their loss.”

daeil presses his lips against kisu’s but this time the other responds, he responds with enthusiasm and all the voices inside his head are shut out, he can only hear their lips smacking, teeth grinding and breaths becoming harsh.

“i know you don’t want to hear this but i think i do” kisu doesn’t even question what daeil’s talking about, he’s too focused on daeil’s mouth against his neck.

he leaves a bruise or two and kisu lets out a content sigh when daeil’s unexpectedly soft hands caress his neck “if i had known you were this talented with your mouth i would’ve let jeunguk introduce us earlier” daeil scoffs at him and holds him impossibly closer.

“i really think i might–” “don’t ruin this” “right… but i mean it” “just sleep” and daeil would try to protest if he weren’t so tired and kisu’s embrace wasn’t so convenently warm and comfortable.

it’d been a week since they had been doing whatever it was that they were doing.

until in the middle of a paint fight things stopped looking black and white for daeil.

“dude give me a mirror,” kisu complies without even questioning “what color did you paint my face?” “what does it matter–oh… it’s red” “so that’s what it looks like, huh?” “wait… does that mean…?” “yeah i’m seeing colors” “but why now?” “how would i know? i told you already it’s been a while since i noticed i love you so i don’t get it” “you’re a biological mistake” “you’re one to talk. how could you think hui was your soulmate when we’re clearly meant to be” kisu rolls his eyes but pulls daeil into a kiss anyway.

*

“what color are my lips now?” “purple” “cool” “yeah” kisu kisses him again and he swears he heard daeil whine but he knows that if he points that out he’ll fight him about it.

with a happy sigh he lets his hands travel on daeil’s back as the younger boy takes off his combat boots and allows himself to drop into kisu’s couch.

“we’re going to make a rainbow on my house if we keep this up” “is that bad?” “not really, no.”

kisu holds onto daeil’s black choker and pulls him down to kiss him “that’s better” he mutters and smiles in between the kiss “how long you’re going to keep doing that?” “until my lips are numb?” “uhm good” daeil hums and kisu’s tongue travels it’s way down his neck.

daeil’s thighs are just as soft as his hands but kisu swears nothing beats the feeling of daeil’s moans as he comes undone in his hands as he touches him down there.

“should i?” “sleep? yeah” “no i mean–” “just sleep, it’s not like– oh” daeil’s hand reach kisu’s crotch and he lets a strangled noise come from his throat “you were saying?” “shouldn’t we... take a shower?” “sure. race you there?”

kisu pushes daeil down the bed and he’s already half way there when daeil yells ‘its on!” from the living room.

when they’re both there kisu swears they’re going to shower and that will be it but daeil always brings him the unexpected.

not that he minds it at all.
