The chamber was damp, moist with condensation stemming from the black lake above. The only sound aside from her breathing, was the steady drip of water running down the rocky, cold walls. A quiet hum reverberated through the air. It felt like static on her skin. Magic. She recognized the frequency instantly and knew it to be unstable. The source was evident. He held her gaze in steady grip, sweat began to bead on her forehead.
“You should not be awake, soon all life will drain from your body,” he dispassionately said as if he was remarking on the weather. In his hand was her wand, which he twirled in between his fingers, ghostly pale and white in the dim light of the chamber.
She opened her mouth to speak, but the words choked on their way out. The silent static welled, drawing close to her body, prickling her skin like needles.
“What’s happening to me…?” she eventually managed to wheeze out, her voice fading like the last rays of sun at dusk.
He smiled, teeth glimmering in the dark and just off to his left, a scaly, slithering shadow moved. Emerging from the darkness that swallowed their surroundings, the basilisk hissed in obscure patterns. Quickly, she closed her eyes.
“There’s no need for that, I’ve already instructed her to keep her eyes closed in my presence and frankly, you’re no use to me dead,” he calmly said, his voice echoing around her. “Unless, you die in the manner I already have planned, that is.”
She didn’t know why she trusted this man, but slowly, her eyes opened. His body leaned, -hovering over hers almost- and whoop her wand went up her nose, “hello boggerland” he sang.
Hermione screamed and reared back. She sneezed and her wand exploded. Splinters tore her nose apart.
“Careful now, dear. Wouldn’t want you to accidentally die here.” He whispered, his hot breath enveloping her ear.
That’s it! She needs to take her own life before whatever dark things he had in mind for her were complete. She didn’t even know this guy but she was certain that she had no interest in doing so either. Hermione began to gnaw at her tongue but this dude seemingly knew everything she was planning.
“I know what you’re thinking. You wanna do me, right?” A smug smile spread across his features.
Hermione began to cry, snot dripping from her nose. She grabbed ahold of his Hogwarts robe and blew her nose in the fabric.
“How did you know what I like?” He whispered in her ear, patting her head.
The snake looked uncomfortable and began to shed its skin out of distress. The basilisk’s dead hide flaked away like old, dried paint and Hermione wondered if she could sell it on Amazon. She tried to sit up but his foot stomped on her stomach and her breakfast made an emergency exit out the same way it came in.
“It’s like I made you in a lab. You know how to arouse me in the most magnificent ways.”
“Yaaas, marry me daddy," Hermione sneezed again, her puke contaminating the precious home of the poor snake who just wanted to leave.
It began to do so, in quiet, discreet ways, slithering away towards its jacuzzi. Tom just wanted to bathe in her oozes. The story collapsed under its own weight of obscenities. Hermione stepped away from the bookcase, closing the piece of trash she had just read. Her eyes rolled, “I don’t understand modern art…” Meanwhile, lurking in the shadows were Tom who cried because it was his diary.
