Go to the museum tomorrow your friend said,it'll be good for you to relax.

They have some new things in the Egypt section.

Sure if minions throwing smoke bombs,screaming civilians and the security guards getting trounced by robots was considered relaxing.

All during an exhibit of artifacts focused on the Egyptian deity Set god of deserts and chaos.

How fitting to be sure

On the bright side,the villain that was menacing the place today was in fact Professor Chaos.

Sure the name sounded bad but if she was being honest he was kinda goofy?

Well other then the rampant destruction of property which wasn't ideal and she didn't approve,the professor never actually hurt people not civilians and went out of his way to make sure no one got hurt badly.

He did beat up the superheros true well try to,but even then on the chance he gets anyone down he never tried to cross that final line.

His general and minions also followed suit. Dealing with them was much better then some other people causing trouble.

It almost felt more like playing then fighting when she tangled with him.

She had punched him and he had also but they never seemed to hit hard enough to seriously hurt the other.

In fact he always seemed to be happy to see her,well her and Mysterion the cool mysterious hero from freedom pals.

Their interactions were civil for the most part,he had been tense at first when they first met but then it evolved into an understanding the other was not a threat.

He did encourage her to join his group and the others did too but she liked the space plus she didn't quite trust all of them yet to make a decision that like.

But she doesn't have time to think about all that,the museum is in total,pardon the term chaos.

Yet she can't do anything about it right now,unless she wants the everyone in here to see her change into her super alter ego.

But more important then that she was too tired to fight,even if she did change it there's no way she can take on the minions,chaos and corral the others.

I should have stayed in bed today

So here she was huddled under a table,exhausted and in dire need of sleep with people running around in confusion.

What was he even doing here?

Sometimes she thinks he does all this for attention which maybe if his mantra about causing all the chaos is anything to go by he just does whatever random plan he gets into his head.

She leans against the wall under the table,eyes drooping. She must be more tired then she thought if she could just pass out even with all the noise. 

Mostly she hide because otherwise he would find her and that was also something she didn't have the energy to deal with.

Meanwhile halfway across town Kenny is freaking out after seeing the report on tv and rushes to change into his Mysterion costume,D was at the museum today and now while rushing to quell whatever trouble that was going on he had to find his best friend too.

Why did he tell D to go there today? But when you live in this town superheros and villains was just a regular part of life.

What did calm him down some was that it was Professor Chaos who was more of a menace then anything else but boy did he cause a scene when he arrived.

However what spiked his anxiety was that Chaos had taken to a newer habit of running off with D,he really didn't need his best friend dragged off by a villain.

Now he knew the professor wouldn't hurt D,quite the opposite he was always careful with him even when he tied him up and he told his minions to be gentle with him too.

But the flirting and teasing? Now that was just too much.

How many times had he walked in on Chaos trying to sweet talk D into becoming one of his minions?

Even at times doing things like squishing his cheeks or having him sit on his lap? D didn't even protest. Why?!

It couldn't be that D had a secret crush on Chaos so that was the reason he didn't protest right? Right?

Kenny tried to shake the thoughts of Chaos once again swooping up D and taking him to his lair or some other makeshift place and practically snuggling them.

Jealous?

Of course not he was just worried about his best friend being kidnapped by a villain. 

Is what he tells himself.

But unfortunately for Kenny he was about to deal with more stress today.

D is still slumped down under the table out of sight,she thought the tablecloth hid her enough but then she sees familiar silver boots stop in front of it.

Oh great it's one of these days then. Maybe he doesn't see her?

Nope,hopes dashed as the cloth is flipped up and she sees the Professor crouched down at eye level and staring at her a grin spreads across his face.

"Well...well...well,so this is where my favorite civilian has been hiding~"

Half of his face is covered by a helmet but his expression of glee is very clear to see.

"Seems my minion was right when he said he saw you duck in here huh?"

Figures a minion saw her she was not on her game today with sneaking.

Oh come on,I don't have the energy to 'play' with you today Chaos

She waits for him to do whatever he's going to.

Chaos Pov

Professor Chaos had been having quite the day,the museum was in complete chaos and his minions and robots had successfully interrupted the exhibit.

But he was still careful not to actually damage the artifacts that would just be mean and besides destroying anything would also upset D and he would never do that to him on purpose.

Speaking of where was D?

He heard from Kenny yesterday as Butters,D was supposed to be here cause he loved 

all that ancient Egypt stuff they had here and that new exhibit with a chaos god was just perfect for him and his minions to show up and cause a little havoc.

Yet he or she? no one was quite sure what D was and were too polite to ask at this point.

Anyway D isn't here even though several people say that they saw a person in a printed hoodie and cargo pants,his usual out and about clothing.

He pouts a little,he was hoping to see him today. Was he hiding?

I really wanted to see you today too..

Now that things have settled down somewhat,well there's still fighting going on and people are running but little details.

A minion in a top hat and mask comes over to him.

"So master,I think I might have saw D run into that other room a few minutes ago."  He points in the direction.

He smiles,his minions at this point were well aware of D and that whenever they saw him to not be too rough.

"I see...thank you minion."

He dismissed him and heads off to the room.

Chaos was going to get to fetch D personally today.

Well he didn't mind doing that at all.

He heads into the room,well it's not that big so where would he hide?

Chaos was a bit upset D would just hide from him,didn't he notice how he treats him different from all the others?

Okay maybe being singled out by a supervillain would make someone nervous but he's made it clear that D is to be handled like a precious gem.

I wish you knew just how much I like you D...

Chaos sighed quietly.

He wants to hold D and whisper all the compliments he has about them,the things he's too shy to say as Butters.

And he knows that it works sometimes too because he's seen D blush from it before.

But..he's not quite sure how D feels about him yet.

However he does know the minion talk doesn't really go anywhere,not that he won't try it again sometime though.

Where is he?

He stops in front of a table,well this is the last place to look.

Chaos crouches down and pulls the tablecloth up,which reveals D,much to his delight.

Finally found you~

D's Pov

Well it could be worse she imagines but now face to face with a giddy Chaos she knows what he's going to do next.

He's reaching further under the table.

"Now...come here,to me D." He coos.

The villain wraps his arms around her,it's firm but gentle as he pulls her out from under the table and hugs her close.

Well the embrace does feel nice and warm

"It's not nice of you to run away from me,if I didn't get to see you today I would have been so so sad you know?~"

"What's causing chaos if I can't see my favorite person hm?"

"..........."

"Still quiet like usual huh?"

"Aw that's okay,the strong silent type suits you so well."

She does decide to speak more today,to make things clear with him.

It's strange,Kenny and Butters were really the only ones who she'd speak more with and now a villain of all people,well him and Mysterion.

"Please tell me you didn't break anything in here Chaos."

He's delighted D spoke but doesn't much like that accusation.

"What no that's just terrible,I have some standards you know,just a couple but I'm still a big bad villain."

He puffs his cheeks out in a pout.

She might have laughed if she wasn't so tired now.

Fatigue and last night fighting some crime did a lot to mess up her sleep.

No idea how Mysterion can do it so much.

She leans against the professor,because she'd fall over otherwise.

Eyes half open.

Augh last night was worse then I thought

"Oh!" 

Chaos immediately knows she's not all there.

"Are you alright?" "Do I need to get some medical staff?"

He looks her over concerned before he notices the dark circles under her eyes.

"Wait...are you just tired?"

"Heheh did you stay up too late~"

She wishes it was just that and not she spent half the night chasing some bozo who tried to run off with 5k in gold from the downtown jewelry.

Now she's about to keel over in a villains arms.

"You poor thing." He cooed. Patting her head.

"It's alright D...I'll take you somewhere nice and comfortable."

Chaos literally sweeps her off her feet,holding her bridal style,she lays her head against his chest.

D had no energy to fight him,she wasn't too worried he was always so gentle,treating her like some sort of valuable treasure.

Well might be not getting out of this one today

He'd never hurt her in her civilian visage.

It's more that she knows she can't stay awake much longer and Chaos is going to take her someplace else that she'll have a hard time slipping away from as her regular self if no freedom pals get here soon and then they'll end up having to find her if that happens.

He takes her out in the main room with his minions.

"Yes...now that I've found what I was looking for we can.."

"Stop right there Chaos!"

D opens her eyes at the loud voice,oh Mysterion's here now.

Kenny's Pov

Kenny bursts through the doors and makes his way through to the Egyptian section of the museum,if he knew one thing

it's that whatever Chaos was doing here for his original plans he would look for D just because.

He had no idea when he had started turning his attention to D,he hadn't told him as either Kenny or Mysterion.

When he did ask all he got was some vague comment about how he happened to be in the wrong place wrong time,got taken hostage during whatever scheme was happening,Chaos started talking to him and somehow after that the villain was much more cordial.

At least he can breath easy knowing he won't harm D,on the other hand he's going to take D away if he can get away with it.

Which will make his job so much harder if he has to fight through his lair to take him home.

If I'm not already too late to stop that

He dodges over chairs and people running out toward the exit.

When he gets to the room he's met with the sight of the professor carrying his friend,in his arms and is he sleeping against his chest?!

Scratch that yes,he was upset that a villain had D practically snuggling against him.

"Stop right there Chaos!"

The professor looks up at his yelling startled and D opens his eyes half lidded.

Wow he looked rougher then he thought he'd be today,he can see the dark circles from a distance.

"Well now if it isn't my other favorite hero."

"Just what do you think you're doing?! Causing all this mess and...and whatever you're doing with that civilian!"

Professor Chaos smiles.

"Oh Mysterion you know who this is,D is just resting right now."

"Doesn't matter let him go. Now."

He raises an eyebrow before making a small smirk.

"Oh I see what's going on you're jealous Mysterion."

"Wha...!" 

And the jerk grins even wider at seeing the parts of his face that aren't covered by his hood flush red.

Thank goodness D seems to be asleep right now or this would be so much more embarrassing.

"But I don't have time to play with you today."

"So we'll be going now."

Before he can do anything he sees one of Chaos minions push a button and then they all teleport away.

He's shocked before he let's out an annoyed groan.

He thought that the big teleporter mechanism was still broken after the last time but no,no it wasn't anymore.

Because of course,of course it has to be one of these days

And that Chaos likely had planned from the start to use it if he ended up finding D here today.

Now he has to go to his lair to get D back.

This was going to be a long evening he thinks as he starts contacting his team members for help.

Chao's Pov

Well the plan went off without many issues.

As the group teleports into the lair the minions breath easy for now since they didn't have to tussle with Mysterion this time.

General Disarray was right there to greet them.

"Hey there boss,I see you got D,I take it the mission was a success then?"

"Oh you bet it was,Mysterion showed up though so now we'll have to plan for the Freedom Pals coming here to take him back."

"Ah gotcha so standard protocol then."

One of his minions offers to carry D to a spare room to rest but he declines,saying that he's taking them to a specific place.

He quickly but carefully takes him to a room,his room to be exact the one where he has his chair and cameras. 

But it was a big room other then that.

He shifts position to turn the handle and step inside,he does a little twirl with D,not too fast though.

Where were we before that hero so rudely interrupted us?

"Mmm..."

"Oh? Are you awake after all D?"

"Barely...so tired.."

"Where...?"

"You're in my lair right now,do you remember Mysterion coming in the museum?"

"I..think?"

D yawns and sluggishly looks around.

Chaos still had her in his arms,it'd been a while since D was in here,but last time he had been more alert too.

"Ah...what are you doing?" She says more to herself then the professor.

"You're so chatty today huh?" Chaos says derailing her train of thought.

So wonderful to hear you

"But it's so nice to hear you speak D,is it just the lack of sleep making you loopy?" He teased.

"Mmm."

"But why are you so tired?"

"Work,had to stay up...later then usual."

"I see."

Well Chaos makes a note for some special plans for his boss,he wasn't too surprised though he'd heard D vent about him before as Butters.

And now he feels like some chaos is due for making his poor D exhausted like this.

"Well now you don't need to worry about that right now~"

D's Pov

Still in the villains arms,D felt rather comfortable actually.

But she will need to go home and is betting that Mysterion or the entire freedom pal team will show up to get her from Chaos at some point.

Yet she was still so tired,last night was rough and it must have taken a bigger toll then she thought.

"Chaos...I need to go home you know."

"You will just not right now."

"I want to spend time with you."

D does like spending time with him not that she can admit that out loud,something about Chaos even though he was a villain there was this underlying sweetness he had,his affection toward her reminded her of someone she knew but she was too clouded by sleepiness to think who it was.

And what else she wouldn't admit was that in part she did have a little crush on the villain,which if any of her friends knew or the freedom pals.

What would they all think,probably not have a good reaction

She knew her best friend Kenny would have a cow,he got so worried about Chaos taking her spontaneously like this which was fair but it was also Chaos so even if he didn't have this obsession with her it would probably still be fine.

She had a sneaking suspicion that the Professor kept doing this because he liked more then just her wit.

But then again all the flirting should have make it obvious.

Even so she has to sort all these complicated...feelings out and even if she did like him a lot she would never join him in his villain ways.

"Needy huh?"

Chaos playfully twirled her around again.

"What? I always have need for you D~"

D lets out a little yawn.

"But seems you need to rest now."

Chaos takes her over to the bed,well it was more like one of those hospital beds they'd put a mental patient on with all those straps.

She had been on it before,remembering the time she woke up in his lair for the first time,but he let her go after she was fully awake saying it was just for safety she was fastened in.

Why does he even have this?

But it wasn't too hard or soft,had a comfy pillow and the straps were Velcro so it was a lot less menacing then it sounded still it was weird he didn't have some other bed to put her.

He gently set her on it and pulled the middle one over her waist and fastened it,but still loose she could still move around and adjust.

She looks down and gives him a raised eyebrow.

"Well I don't want you to fall off."

He gets a blanket and puts it over her tucking it around her all cozy.

It feels...oddly comfortable? But still after all that I'm a little....

Not easy to..sleep like this

"You sure you're not just worried I'll try to run away?"

"Oh my little D,even if you did you wouldn't get far with all my minions and obstacles~"

"Still...can't relax...right now.."

"Means I should go home."

"Well seems I'll have to make you sleep then."

What does he mean by that?

D feels a pang of nervousness at that wording.

Chao's Pov

D was so tired before.

But now he was restless and fussy,even sassy with him.

Quiet but lively aren't we?

Yet hearing his soft voice made him so happy,he's spoken to him more today then the last two times he's seen him.

That was as Butters though,but still prying words out of D was a difficult task to do as either of him,that was okay though he can talk enough for both of them.

However now he needs to get D to sleep,not just because he's tired but he looks so cute when he sleeps too.

Not to mention,he wants to stretch out his time with him as much as possible.

Chaos is certain he has a foolproof way to do it.

For one he remembers all those times they had sleepovers what got him to rest all night.

And he's sure it will still work even now.

He starts petting D's head and humming a song,certain that D also just needs a little push to sleep if he was so tired just a few minutes before.

It's almost instant with how he reacts and he feels D lean into his touch.

"Mmm Chaos...that's cheating..."

"Aw did you think that a bad guy was going to play fair?~"

"Not when I've got you to myself like this~"

He starts humming again.

D's favorite song from that movie they used to watch together.

He starts to snuggle down into the blanket and Chaos hears his breathing slow down into steady paces.

"Yes...that's it just let go D"

He didn't respond almost asleep now and Chaos can see he's finally settled down.

"Goodnight my lovely."

He turns his attention to the monitors which are flashing now,seems like his time with D was going to be interrupted now.

Kenny's Pov

After getting whoever was available to help him,Kenny along with Human Kite,Toolshed and Fastpass tore through the lair,traps and minions before being halted by General Disarray who was going to blast them with robots and other minions joined from nowhere.

The other three urged him to run on ahead while they distracted them and just get D so they can get the heck out of here.

Didn't have to tell him twice.

He had a good idea where D was too,so he sneak attacked as many minions as he could to clear a pathway for taking D out

since there was a good chance he's still not going to be awake enough to run.

When he gets to the control room he's met with a sight he never thought he'd see.

Professor Chaos is sitting on the edge of a bed? with D snuggled under a blanket sleeping rather peacefully at that.

But what really gets his attention is that he's petting D's head and softly humming once upon a dream from Sleeping Beauty.

Which is also a romantic song.

If he thinks he's going to do that with D then he's got another thing coming

Kenny feels his chest burn and he sees red but he doesn't shout because despite everything going on he doesn't want to wake D up.

"Chaos!" He whispers half hisses at him.

He looks up not even remotely surprised.

"Ah Mysterion here you and your little group are to spoil my time with D again."

"Excuse me you kidnapped D."

"Well D seemed to be enjoying our time together."

"Only because he's too polite to say anything negative."

"Oh Mysterion,what little you know about my dear sweet D."

Just what does he think even knows about his best friend?

He feels his eye twitching at the mention of my and D.

"Enough,we take this outside the room because we're going to wake him up otherwise."

"Very well,after you then,I'd also prefer him to stay resting."

He leaves and Chaos follows right after,they move far away enough from the room so D won't hear the fighting.

You are getting it today Chaos

Mysterion and Chaos go at each other blasting,dodging and punches being thrown about.

Until he finally manages to throw Chaos into some boxes knocking the air from him and stunning at the same time.

Kenny runs taking the opportunity to finally get D out of there and home.

He swiftly gets back to the room and takes off the blanket,is confused how there's all these straps on this bed? But decides not to dwell on it right now unfastening the one so he can get D off and carry him out.

D's Pov

D had been sleeping soundly,all the patting and Chaos humming a lullaby had made her calm down and rest.

It reminds me of an old memory with..who was it..

Still can't think...

She already felt so much better even if she drifted in and out of sleeping.

Hearing his soft hums was relaxing.

She thought she heard another familiar voice but couldn't focus.

Who is that? 

And then the humming stops but she still feels warm and comfortable.

Then a while later she feels someone removing the blankets and lifting her off the bed.

She opens her eyes blearily.

"Hm..? Who?"

D sees purple and a hooded figure.

"Myst..erion...?"

"I'm here to take you home D."

"I'll keep you safe,rest." 

His voice is still gruff but there's a gentleness to it this time.

But D was fine with this,she trusted he would keep her safe on the way home so she relaxed against his chest.

She thought maybe she felt his heart beating fast but it didn't sink in since she was still sleepy.

Things are a blur,she hears some sounds of scuffling and maybe the voices of freedom pals members but after that it's quiet.

Until she feels someone gently nudging her shoulders.

"Hey hey,D you alright?" A muffled voice asked.

She opens her eyes and sees Kenny,leaning over her wearing that orange parka like he always does.

Funny how his wardrobe has changed so little after all these years.

Her cheeks feel a little hot from how close he is.

She pats where she's laying and peeks around,it's her couch and then she looks at him.

He looks pretty concerned.

"Kenny..?"

"Mysterion took you home,we uh met up at the same time I was coming over and we kinda know each other already so he was fine leaving me here with you."

"Oh...save you before?"

"Yeah yeah something like that,you know usual hero things."

"How here?"

"Spare key? Remember" He dangles the key chain on his finger.

"You still sleeping?" He smiles under the parka.

Oh right,he's the only other person she trusted to come in her house when she wasn't there.

Well other then Butters but Kenny was in rough living so if he needed a safe place or some food she didn't mind him coming in whenever.

Could use more sleep though...

"I'm...fine."

"You sure? I was real worried when I saw about the museum."

"Did Chaos?"

"Yes."

"You've been out a while he didn't do anything to you did he?"

Kenny is looking her over,upset.

"No."

She hears him breath a sigh of relief.

"Good."

You worry a lot sometimes,but I appreciate it

Her thoughts are interrupted by knocking.

"Stay I'll get it."

Kenny opens the door to see Butters.

Butters Pov

Butters was tired,as Chaos Mysterion had been rougher then usual fighting then finishing by throwing him into a bunch of boxes,leaving some bruises and then the freedom pals trashed his lair.

Taking D in the process.

He pouted,he was enjoying their time together too.

But what Mysterion doesn't know is that he knows D as his civilian self.

He would have taken D home by now.

So simple plan,he shows up,consoles him after being kidnapped by the 'big bad supervillain' and gets D to himself for the rest of the evening.

He knocked on the door waiting patiently with a small smile.

Only to see Kenny in front of him.

"O-oh Kenny? What are you doing here?"

"I'm taking care of D."

I was hoping to see him alone

Now Butters didn't dislike Kenny,he had been one of his best friends.

But now was the worst time for him to show up here.

He hears D speak up.

"Butters? Let him in."

Kenny relents his protective stance at the door and lets him inside.

D seems happy to see him.

"Hello."

Well unlike earlier D has returned to one or two word replies.

He spoke with me so much before too..

Maybe he's still too worn out to speak,but D used not speak at all.

"Hey there D,I heard all about what happened earlier with the museum and Professor Chaos and you were there

and I've been anxious to see you all day...y-you know cause I was so worried and all.

He fumbles a little,bumping his knuckles nervously.

"Is okay."

D pats the couch seat and he accepts the invitation,Kenny sitting on the other side.

Kenny's Pov

Kenny feels a bit of relief at seeing it's just Butters.

Probably heard all about the incident and been beside himself with worry.

Still he can't let go of his unease yet,not after the day he just had,as Butters settled down on the cushion.

He feels his stomach flip,he has a feeling it's not just Chaos who's got attraction to D.

For the longest time now,he has been lovesick over his childhood friend.

He doesn't even remember when the line of platonic and romance affection blurred.

Now he's competing with his friend and a supervillain over D's heart.

No idea if D even notices,even though he speaks more now he's made no comments about crushes or romance,but then again speaking about things was harder for him to begin with,complicating regular friendships let alone romance.

He? Well Kenny's not even sure,for years there's been rumors that D is actually a girl.

Kenny thought about telling D his feelings,he had hesitated though because of his well,less then savory reputation in regards to romance and his infamous flings.

Yet...should I just go and do it before I regret not saying anything at all?

He takes a breath and tries to settle down on the couch next to D,he watches him go to make popcorn while the game was loading.

At this point it didn't matter to him what he or she was,he just knew he loved D.

And he had a sneaking suspicion that Butters felt the same way with how he looks at him and the lingering touch whenever he hugged or grabbed his hand to get his attention.

He had nothing against the other blonde,but he won't give up his love for D that easily.

Kenny thinks about Chaos earlier,how he had D there wrapped up in blankets and he looked content..happy even,sleeping so peacefully.

His eyes narrow,he especially won't give up against a villain trying to steal D's heart either.

Just wait Chaos I'm not letting D go that easy

Butters Pov

Butters looks over at the other side of the couch.

Kenny is tense,not because of him but even though he's sure he suspects nothing that his good friend is actually a supervillain he can tell he's very upset about how D was 'kidnapped'

But he had always been protective of D,for years even though when they used to play those games D was quite capable of protecting himself.

D even used to fight bullies that picked on him during their games too,always kind to him never objecting to him tagging along to play.

He fondly remembers those days.

However what his friend doesn't know is he's so much stronger now and D?

Well of course he's not weak but now there's people with super powers running around and villains.

And as he knows from personal experiance it's so easy to scoop him up and take him away to his lair.

I can protect you,if only you'd let me and even more then that...

"Game."

His thoughts are broken by D.

He's holding up a new game,the one he'd been talking about and was excited to play.

"Oh I didn't realize you got that,neato."

D puts the game in and goes into the kitchen to do something that sounds like popcorn popping.

He glances over at Kenny,he's staring at toward the kitchen,he's less tense now but if the way his eyes light up at D's presence is anything but a clue to what Butters suspected for a while now,it's that Kenny has feelings for D.

Probably for a long time maybe even as long as Butters.

But unfortunately for you Kenny,Professor Chaos isn't going to let D go that easily

He's sure that he can eventually win over D's heart,as himself or his alter ego and then maybe even convince him to cause chaos with him.

But for now he'll just enjoy his time with his friend and crush eating popcorn and playing video games.
