Chapter Text
"Miss Jessie... It's past your bedtime!" Nani said with politeness. It was in the middle of the night, and Nani was just checking around the house for security measures. Everything should be clockwork, so she thought.
Jessie was still up watching TV in the living room, sitting on the floor watching some kind of stunt show that aired only at night. Even though Nani believed that she tucked her in minutes ago, but this child was always a tricky one.
The little girl whined, "But Nani! It's not my fault they aired Stu's stunt show at night! C'mooon~ just a few more minutes!"
Nani shook her head, "I understand... but staying up isn't good for your health! What if Mrs. Pam hears about this?"
Jessie thought for a second, making a "mm" sound before finally groaning. "F-fine... But make me pancakes tomorrow!" she got up wobbly, seeing that she was glued to that screen for a while now.
The robot let out a robotic sigh, Peep, a small circular-shaped drone, nuzzled on her releasing a tiny spark between them, slightly aleviating her tired mood. "Thank you, Peep." she said gently, patting the top of the small robot's head.
This short moment was interrupted when a loud bang came from the TV. Right, she needs to shut this off before the Mrs. wakes up!
She grabbed the TV on the floor and aimed it towards the TV, her finger hovering inches over the off button. But just as she was about to press it, a certain robot caught her eye.
He was flying around the air, doing various tricks and flips that made Nani's heart drop with each trick being more and more dangerous. Yet the audience kept cheering.
"Oh! That poor robot... aren't they worried for him?" Nani said to herself with a sympathethic tone. But the stunt robot always put up a bright energetic aura despite the risky stunts.
Peep let out a confuse hum, hovering around Nani who stayed still while looking at the TV, her hand with the remote slowly lowering as her eyes dilated which usually showed curiosity.
The stunt robot, who was later announced as Stu, kept doing insane acts that made Nani's core jump each time. She mostly felt concerned, but also a mix of excitement and admiration.
It was getting late, but she wanted to see more, she needed to see more of him. It wouldn't hurt to be greedy and watch some more to break just a small rule, right? Only for a few minutes, just a few.
A few minutes turned into ten, thirty, then an hour. She was hooked, she never felt anything like this. It wasn't after the show ended that she noticed the time. Peep lazily turned off the TV as soon as another show came on.
"Oh!" Nani gasped, "Oh my! Well you look at the time, I'm so sorry Peep..." she grabbed the remote again and closed the TV for real this time.
Like on autopilot mode, Nani made sure to check everything inside the house before going back outside to her charging port. A usually monotonous process, yet her mind still lingered on that stunt robot from the TV.
Based on the tone of Stu's voice, Nani theorized that his body has gone through traumas from past stunts. Oh how worried Nani is, yet how much she admired him for keeping a positive face despite that.
After making sure everything as in order, she went out the house and through the junkyard to her charging port, sitting down at her sofa as she connected the charger to herself. Peep floated onto Nani's lap, she slowly stroked the little drone's head as her systems slowly rest for the night.
"Stu..." Nani muttered, her mind was still on that stunt robot. She wants to find out more about him. She sighed, shaking her head before her systems finally shut down.
