Chapter Text
This is basically just a massive author's note but I want to be clear.
So, yeah. I am madly in love with Hanforpotter's Magic's Child series. Please, I beg of you, go read that series! It's outstanding. Book 7 isn't posted and it's been a year since the last update so it may be abandoned but it's absolutely worth reading.
As I've been reading it I've come up with eleventy billion headcanons that demanded their own story. I've also got a ton of other headcanons that have developed over years of reading HP fic.
Now, as with many of you, I've read so many fics over the years that I cannot be 100% sure that all of these ideas came out of my brain or if I've read them at some point and they've gotten stuck in my brain.
If any of you recognize something glaring please let me know so I can give credit where credit is due.
There are a few OCs and I did get some OC character names from other fics but I can't remember which ones. I hope borrowing the names is OK!
Now, onto the fic itself. This isn't going to be a typical characters reading HP books. They're going to be reading and reacting to them but not line by line. We're only going to touch on the most important points and there's going to be a lot of extra context and a lot of focus on what was happening elsewhere. Draco and Theo's story, for example, will be explored thoroughly.
Now, about Dumbles. He's not evil. He's not a villain. But nor is he a good guy. His hubris knows no bounds and because of that...well, he almost ended the world. He's going to answer for it. Also, full disclosure, I despise Molly Weasley. Will she get better? We'll see.
As for Ron and Hermione. I'll be honest. I hate Ron. He's got some great qualities but, yeah, no. I hate him. I'm not going to go overboard. He's just a kid, he's not evil. But his flaws are so very apparent and they need to be addressed. He's as stubborn as a Hippogriff so they're going to be addressed a lot. Pointing out flaws is necessary for growth. I don’t consider it bashing. His positive traits will be recognized as well. I’m hoping he cooperates and grows up by the end of the series.
I love fic Hermione. She's a fascinating character that can go either way in fic. But canon Hermione? Girls got issues. And she's not going to like it when they're pointed out. Will she learn from it? We'll see.
Now, it's been years since I read the first 6 books. I never finished the 7th. I stopped reading when JK killed off Hedwig. I actually hurled the book across the room and that was it. I'll be skimming the books as I write and if it's been awhile since you've read them I suggest you do the same. Having said that, while I'm (mostly) sticking to canon I'm also inserting a ton of things that happened behind the scenes, in my head at least.
I know some of you will be wary about starting this series as they never seem to get finished.
So full disclosure. I have the first book finished (though it needs editing and tidying) and detailed outlines for the rest. I make no promises as one never knows but I have every intention of completing it.
Edit: I forgot the all important disclaimer! I don’t own Harry Potter! Please don’t sue me.
