The door jingles shut.
A heartbeat.
Kai throws himself at the door, deadbolt clanging and shades dropping with a clatter.
Morro warily peeks out, "was that the last of them?"
"Yes," hisses Kai, "coward."
"You had it," he adjusts the radio until dark metal pours out.
Kai scoffs, already stacking chairs while his nemesis wipes down counters.
The trap metal soothes his bones like a lullaby.
"Hey, so…"
"Hm?" Kai blinks himself awake.
"Maybe we could… get coffee sometime?"
"Coffee?"
"…"
"Morse, we work at a coffee shop."
"Or boba! Just a thought—"
"I like boba."
"—it's not like—really?"
"… Yeah."
