Hiding From Them

Summary:

Troye and Tyler have been together for around a month, but they haven’t told anyone. They want to keep that to themselves, but this party with their friends proves to test their patience with that

Work Text:

As I set the car in park, nervous tingles fill my body. I look to Troye and can’t help but feel he’s feeling the exact same way as he pinches nervously at the fabric of his jeans.

I reach over and gently rest my hand on his upper arm, watching him flinch before he turns to me, expression softening into a gentle smile. I give him a smile back, trying to calm his nerves.

“It’s okay. We’ll be here a few hours, and be exactly how we were before. No one will know the difference.” He swallows and nods.

“I just- it feels weird to hide from them, doesn’t it?” I gently rub along his arm.

“It’s what we both want, right?” He nods.

“Yeah, but-“

“No buts, baby. They might be our friends, but no one deserves parts of us we aren’t ready to give.” He eases the tension in his body a bit, nodding his agreement once more.

“Yeah. You’re right. Thanks, Ty.” I smile and glance at the front and back ends of the car quickly, finding outside free of people and feeling okay to lean in and give him a quick kiss.

I pull away and get halfway back to my side before he’s leaning in again, meeting me over the console to give me a longer kiss that I didn’t necessarily anticipate, but can’t complain about. He pulls away eventually and blushes, eyes flicking down away from me.

“Sorry. It’s gonna be hard not to kiss you for a while.” My heart flutters a bit at his words, knowing he sometimes struggles with affection.

“I know. But we’ll be out before you know it. And we can cuddle and watch a movie later?” He smiles.

“That sounds really good.” He confirms. “Okay, let’s do it.” I grab my keys from the cupholder after breaking from him and we both get out of the car, shutting our doors in tandem and heading towards Mamrie’s house as I lock the car.

We had originally wondered if showing up together would make them suspicious, but agreed that it’s not at all abnormal for us to do that. Having been best friends for years before actually getting together a month ago, we still were inseparable. Just, now, in a different way.

We make it to the front door within a minute or so and I put my hand on his lower back for a moment, gently squeezing to provide some last minute comfort before taking it away. He rings the doorbell soon after and it doesn’t take long for the door to open, Hannah being the one to do so.

“Troyler!” She beams. I blush a bit as she hugs us in tandem, arms wrapping around each of our shoulders and pulling us in.

“Hi, Han.” Troye says as he pulls away. I do the same and we follow her in as she walks into the house.

“I’m so glad you guys could make it. It never feels the same without Troyler.” She quips as Troye and I take off our shoes, glancing up to each other at her words and both of us stifling a smile.

“Oh, we know.” I joke as we follow her into the living room, where it seems most of our friends already are.

Greetings only take a few minutes before Mamrie invites us to grab a drink from the kitchen, making sure to point out her premade margaritas.

Troye and I make our way and I’m kind of excited to see that the kitchen is empty, feeling a bit less tense. It’s not like we can really be close or open since someone could easily walk in, but it’s nice to just be with him for a moment.

“Are you having one?” Troye asks as he gets to the margarita dispenser, grabbing a plastic cup from the stack and turning to me. We already agreed that I’m the designated driver of the both of us, and I’ve given Troye the go-ahead to drink as much as he would like, but a drink to start off the night doesn’t sound too bad.

“I’ll just have one.” He nods and turns back, filling the cup up from the large container and blindly reaching back to hand it to me. I grab it, backing off a bit to give him some space to pour his own as I sip the drink. It’s strong, in Mamrie fashion, but good. Also in Mamrie fashion.

We eventually walk back to the living room with everyone and I find that our next move is already a challenge. No one would normally blink an eye at us sitting next to each other, but would it seem off now?

I glance at Troye but find him seeming indifferent, taking the middle spot on one side of the couch next to Grace and patting the seat next to him for me. I do as he requests, blush on my face, but no one even bats at eye.

I mean, of course they don’t. I’m just in over my head with this.

I definitely want the privacy for us right now, but Troye seems to want it more, anxious that it could ruin something if we have everyone in our lives making a spectacle of it. Honestly, it makes sense to me, too. But I just worry that I might do something wrong, and he would be upset.

“I feel like we haven’t seen you guys in ages.” Connor remarks. Troye’s in the middle of taking a drink, so I feel like I have to answer.

“I know, it’s been awhile.” I smile, sipping my drink nervously.

“Work’s been kicking my ass.” Troye remarks, the lie effortlessly slipping from him and making me a bit shocked. Work for him can be stressful, but we both know our absences have been due to us wanting to just be with each other.

“Yeah, I’ve been having to catch up on filming and stuff, I got sick for a few days and it just threw me off.” I say. It’s not entirely a lie; I really was sick. But I definitely could have left the house a bit more within the last month, if it wasn’t for wanting to spend as much time as I could with Troye.

“That’s alright, it happens.” Joey waves us off. “You’re here now, that’s what counts.” I smile and nod, unable to help myself from looking at the way he and Daniel are close to each other on the other side of the couch. Daniel’s arm is so easily wrapped around Joey’s shoulder and Joey is nuzzled up to him. It’s by no means sexual or too much to look at, but I just wish Troye and I could be that close right now with no question from anyone.

The night continues on with not much to say. It’s pretty standard, moving back and forth between talking in small groups to the whole group making conversation about various things.

I finished my drink pretty fast, getting a slight buzz but nothing I can’t handle. Troye, on the other hand, has definitely gotten extra giggly since he’s finished his second and came back with his third. He’s not much of a drinker, so it doesn’t surprise me that he’s already feeling it pretty heavily.

“So, Ty, any guys?” The question makes me whip my head up, having been kinda zoned out for the past few minutes until I heard Mamrie’s voice.

“Uh, no.” I say, stomach knotting with guilt at the fact that my boyfriend is right next to me. It feels weird to deny what we have, even if we’ve agreed. She squints at me.

“You’re lying.” She says incredulously. I feel my body freeze, listening to Troye cough slightly on his drink next to me but quickly managing to regain his composure.

“No I’m not.” I say. I pray she’ll just take it for what it is, though it feels like my face is on fire from nerves.

“Oh my god, who is he?” Hannah suddenly cuts in, making me feel even hotter somehow. I feel that Troye’s hand which was resting between us has started pulling very slightly at the hem of my shirt, definitely not noticeable enough to others but it’s happening nonetheless.

“He is no one. He doesn’t exist.” I say, trying to hone in my sassiness as much as I can and hoping it’ll be enough to ward them off. Thankfully, it seems to be as they both roll their eyes.

“Fine. Whatever.” Mamrie brushes me off and returns to a different conversation, making me sigh quietly in relief and glance at Troye. He’s already looking to me, giving me a small smile.

I almost find myself leaning in to kiss him, glad when I’m able to steel myself. This is all getting a bit much, and I excuse myself to the bathroom. I need to just catch my breath for a second.

I shut the door and relieve myself quickly before washing my hands, looking to myself in the mirror and taking a few deep breaths.

This situation is not as bad as my brain is making it out to be. The worst thing that could happen is someone catches on, maybe they point it out, maybe they don’t. Maybe Troye gets mad, maybe he doesn’t.

I sigh and dry off my hands before opening the door. I blindly take a step before I’m stopped by someone, gasping as I look up.

It’s Troye.

“Jesus, Troye.” I scold, watching him step back on slightly unsteady feet to move out of the way so that I can get out of the bathroom. To my surprise, Troye immediately moves forward when I do, reaching up to wrap his arms around my neck. “Troye, what are you-“

“I miss you.” He pouts. I sigh, putting my hands on his hips to attempt to push him off. But he wraps his arms around me tighter, bottom lip pouting out further.

“T, someone’s gonna see us.” I tell him quietly, looking down the hallway and glad to see no one there. Yet. He frowns.

“Who cares?” I shake my head.

“Tro, you’re drunk. You care. If someone saw us like this, you know what they would think.” He groans lowly and disconnects from me, letting his arms go back to hanging limply by his side.

“Sorry.” He mumbles. My heart hurts a bit at the disappointment and upset in his voice, and I would love to kiss it away.

But, I can’t.

“It’s okay. I’ll meet you back out there, okay?” He nods and soon I’m walking back down the hallway, slightly more shaken up at the encounter.

I find my seat again after grabbing a water from the kitchen, glad to have the bottle in my hands to have something to do. But it doesn’t take long for Mamrie to come up to me, an excited look on her face as she crouches down next to the chair arm and props her chin on it.

“What is it, Mame?” I groan sarcastically, knowing that face from her already. She’s up to something. I know it.

“You’re really not dating anyone?” I roll my eyes, putting my bottle on the side table now.

“Why is that so hard for you to believe? I’ve been single effectively for years.”

“Yeah but you look… different.” She says. I blush, wondering what kind of aura I could be giving off that makes her say that. I shake my head.

“I’m the same I’ve always been.” She shakes her head but soon pulls her phone out, making me furrow my brows as she eagerly unlocks it and starts clicking through the screen.

Eventually, I see what she’s doing, swallowing harshly as she turns the screen to me with a picture of a shirtless guy on it.

“In that case, how do you like him? His name’s Evan.” I tense, clenching my jaw and smiling politely. I glance at the photo but don’t look at it for too long, feeling like I’m wronging Troye just by having this conversation.

“Mamrie, I’m really not looking for anything. I’m sure he’s really nice, but-“

“Sure who’s nice?” My heartbeat increases tenfold as I hear Troye’s voice and immediately feel his weight dip down the cushion next to me. Mamrie smiles eagerly and turns her phone to him, making a pit settle in my stomach as she speaks.

“Evan.” She moves her brows up and down suggestively. “Doesn’t he look like Tyler’s type?” Troye is certainly not the jealous type, but I see the way his eyes change just slightly. He looks a bit annoyed, then looks to me.

“Is he?” I shake my head.

“No.” I turn to Mamrie, forcing a smile. “I’m really not interested. Thank you, though, Mame.” She groans dramatically but gets up, shutting off her phone and returning to the other side of the room where the girls are. I feel a weight lift off my chest, but guilt is still pooled up in my stomach.

I look back to him to find him just looking ahead, his cup brought up to his lips but not drinking. I’m terrified he’s mad. He takes a big gulp and suddenly he’s moving in as close as possible to me, head pressed to my shoulder.

I stiffen, unsure what to do with the proximity. I worried he was mad, but now I’m just worried someone’s going to call us out. I tilt my head slightly to whisper to him as he takes a sip of the drink again.

“I wasn’t actually talking to her about him. I swear.” He shakes his head on me and I feel him move the cup, pressing it into my stomach. I take it from his hand and hold it on my thigh, feeling him nuzzle into me as close as possible and rest his hand against my chest.

“I know.” He says. I glance up to find that Joey and Daniel are definitely looking at us. It makes me blush and I look away.

“Troye, people are noticing.” I warn. He hums, seeming indifferent.

“Let them.”

“Troye, you’re drunk, you’re gonna regret this if someone-“

“I’m yours. That’s something to be proud of.” He says softly, words a bit slurred but I hear them just the same. It makes me stiffen, so shocked to hear what he says and how genuine it sounds when it comes out of his mouth. “I don’t care if they find out.” He says. I shut my eyes at the words and quietly wrap my arm around his waist, pulling him into me closer and rubbing my thumb on the skin right under the hem of his shirt.

“Okay.” I reply, setting the cup onto the side table as best I can when I open my eyes, avoiding everyone else in the room. I don’t know if anyone is actually looking, but all I care about is making sure he’s comfortable right now. I put my hand over his and rub along his knuckles, listening to him hum lowly in approval.

“Tilly?” He says, voice sounding sleepy. I rub at his hip softly again, pressing my head gently to his.

“Mmhm?”

“I love you.” He breathes. I freeze at his confession.

He’s never said it.

We’ve never said it.

But, I’ve already been thinking about it. I’ve basically been thinking about it since we kissed for the first time, honestly.

“I love you, too.” I say softly.

But, in response, I feel a stream of warm air leave his mouth and hit my neck. I immediately know that he’s fallen asleep, having experienced him falling asleep on me numerous times in the past month.

“Holy Troyler.” My head whips up at the soft yet astonish voice of Hannah. But I find that it’s not just her looking at me; it’s everyone.

I redden under everyone’s gaze and swallow my nerves down, glancing away before replying.

“I… uh, yeah, I think he’s just a bit tired.” I answer, still hopeful I can get away with us being just friends even in this compromising position.

“Are you sure about that?” Grace asks with a laugh that tells me she definitely suspects we’re not just cuddled up as friends. But I nod.

“Yeah. He, um, definitely had too much to drink.” Mamrie cocks her head to the side like she’s trying to read through me, but Connor’s the one to speak up.

“And there’s nothing going on between you two? At all?”

“Guys, he’s just drunk. Come on.” I dismiss, watching them all range in their reactions. Some shrug indifferently, others give me a more incredulous look. But they all do eventually go back to their conversations or whatever they were doing. At least they aren’t bothering us.

Troye softly snores on me for a while as I move my hand to gently rub along his lower back, knowing no one is seeing since they’re all busy with other things.

It stays like this for quite some time. I have a few conversations with people intermittently, but I’m really more focused on making sure Troye’s comfortable.

Eventually, he groans lowly. I realize he’s waking up and squeeze his hand gently, looking over to him as I bring my hand back to his hip and let it rest there.

He grips at my shirt as he awakens and I silently hope he’ll stop soon, feeling like our relationship is getting pretty obvious now. Thankfully, no one seems to be looking right now.

His hand releases my shirt after a few seconds and I feel relief, until his hand is on my face, cupping my cheek as he lifts his head up. The realization that he’s about to kiss me, in a room full of our friends who have no idea we’re together, makes me speak.

“Troye-“ I barely get his name out before my eyes instinctively shut at the press of his lips against mine. His breath tastes like tequila as he pulls me into him as close as he can, but his lips still feel just as amazing as they usually do. I kiss him back at first, melting into him like normal.

That is, until I realize just what is actually happening.

I immediately pull back, eyes opening wide while he groans. I can practically feel the eyes on us as he attempts to kiss me again, leaning up once more.

“Troye.” I warn, pinching at his hip and hearing him groan lowly. “Our friends.” I remind him through gritted teeth. He furrows his eyebrows as his eyes lazily open again before he looks to the side. I do too, finding everyone staring at us.

Troye immediately moves his hand to clutch into my shirt, turning to shove his head as deep as humanly possible in my chest. It leaves me as the one that has to face our friends, who have another mixed bag of reactions; some confused, some with satisfied smirks.

“No fucking way.” Mamrie gapes. Troye groans as my blush deepens.

“Guys, it’s not- I mean, it…” I stutter out, groaning at my pathetic attempt to explain ourselves. I don’t know that there is really a way out of this. Especially considering Troye’s drunk, I just look like a predator letting him kiss me like that.

“It is.” Troye groans against me, muffled into my chest but loud enough that everyone definitely hears. They hardly look shocked though, just laughing and shaking their heads.

“It was about fucking time.” Daniel pipes up. Troye giggles into my chest and I sigh, feeling like a weight is off my shoulders suddenly.

Troye seems okay, that’s what matters.

“Why didn’t you guys tell us?” Hannah asks, huffing like she’s frustrated. But I know she’s not actually. I move my hand from his hip to his hair, feeling comfortable enough to actually run my fingers through it like I’ve been wanting to. Troye moves his head slightly so he can speak more freely.

“It’s new. We wanted to wait.” I nod my agreement, letting my nails scratch slightly over his scalp as he hums.

“How new?” Grace asks.

“Month.” Troye replies simply.

“You guys are Troyler. You know it’ll work. And you know we’d always approve.” Connor explains. It makes me feel better, for sure.

“We know, guys. We just didn’t want to push ourselves, I guess.” They all mumble agreements and understandings.

“But god knows drunk me can’t get off of him.” Troye quips, making me blush and smack his head lightly. He laughs.

“Shut up, T.” I scold, listening to some of them ‘awe’ at the nickname. I roll my eyes but chose not to call them out for it.

“Well, we’re happy for you.” Joey says. I smile as Troye squeezes my chest a bit.

“Thanks, guys.” Troye reciprocates the words and eventually he sits up a bit, putting his head against my shoulder again. I continue to brush through his hair.

“Would you guys hate me if I said I’m a bit too drunk right now and definitely need to go home?” They laugh at Troye’s words and I move to squeeze his hand again.

“No. Go home with your boyfriend.” I roll my eyes at Grace’s words and hear Troye groan before he sits up. I meet him, bringing my hand up to still him by his back.

“I definitely do need to get him home, guys. But thanks for… you know, not freaking out.” Hannah steps forward as I stand up with Troye, wrapping my arm around him securely to make sure he doesn’t sway or fall.

“You guys know you can tell us anything. C’mon, I’ll help you guys head out.” Troye hums, leaning his body against me as Hannah gets next to him on the other side and supports him at his upper back.

We both say our goodbyes before walking to the front entryway where our shoes are. I slip mine on fast while Hannah makes sure to still Troye and I nudge his shoes closer to him, providing support again as he puts his on. I’m extremely thankful his are also slip ons.

We walk to the front door before Troye groans, pushing his head into me. Hannah looks to me.

“Tilly.” He groans. I shake my head, rolling my eyes at his childish behavior once I know what he wants.

“I’ve got him.” I tell Hannah, watching her step back with a confused expression. I bend down and find his thighs as he wraps his arms around me, groaning with the effort it takes to pick him up. But I can never be mad when I hear his pleased hum as he cuddles into my shoulder. “Can you just open the door, Han?” She laughs and does as I say.

Soon, I’m walking down the driveway with him cuddled into my shoulder, legs tightened on my waist. I roll my eyes at just how tonight has played out, glad to be able to get him to myself after just a few hours.

I just hope he’s okay with this by morning.

“Ty.” He groans as I get a few steps from the car.

“Yeah, baby?”

“Wanna make out?” I roll my eyes as I get to the car, pressing him against it slightly for support. He pulls back and looks to me, pressing his head to mine with a goofy smile on his face.

“You are too drunk, baby. We can’t be doing all that.” He pouts.

“But you’re so hot.” He groans, making me laugh. I lean in to peck his lips, though he does try to continue it and pouts when I don’t let him.

“What we need right now, is to get home. And you need some water and some rest.” He groans, fingers tugging at the collar at the back of my shirt.

“Okay, Ty.” He concedes. I kiss his cheek and set him down, moving to open the door for him. “Thanks, Tilly.” He says as he haphazardly gets in, plopping down on the seat. I smile at how cute he is, tugging at the seatbelt and handing it to him. He takes it and starts to pull the belt over himself as I shut the door.

By the time I get in, turn the car on, and buckle myself up, Troye is reaching for the controls on the radio. I pull off as he turns up the music, singing drunkenly but still beautifully.

I drive through the streets, glad that Mamrie lives further from the city so traffic isn’t bad. I get to a light and reach to rest my hand on his thigh, rubbing gently. I turn to find him looking at my hand, moving his to settle atop it and rub soothingly. I squeeze his thigh and turn back as the light turns green.

“Tilly?” He speaks up after another minute or so.

“Mmm?”

“Are you mad at me?” I glance over to him, finding him looking at me with a saddened expression. I turn back to the road, knowing I have to focus on it even if I want to kiss away his worries.

“No, honey, I’m not mad.” I tell him as I turn the steering wheel left to merge into the other lane. “Why would I be mad at you, baby?”

“I kissed you in front of everyone.” I rub along his thigh and shake my head, glad to see that the light ahead of us is changing to red. That’s probably a first.

“That’s okay, baby.” I tell him, looking over once the car is fully to a stop and shocked to find him quietly crying. I move my hand up and thumb off his tears, heart hurting at the idea that he thinks I’m mad. “T, I’m not mad. Please don’t cry.” He sniffles, more tears falling and making me feel even worse.

“I-I feel stupid. I shouldn’t have drank. I kn-knew I would act like an idiot.” I thumb his face but jump slightly when I hear a horn honk, realizing the light is green and needing to turn my attention back to the road. We’re only a few minutes from the house, and I’m really grateful for it. I let my hand move down from his face blindly to find his hand, interlacing our fingers and squeezing.

“You didn’t act like an idiot, baby. I am not mad at you, at all. You drank a bit, and fell asleep, and kissed me when you woke up. There’s nothing wrong with that.” I tell him, rubbing my thumb over his palm as I start navigating the side streets to my place.

“Are you sure?” He asks quietly after a few moments of sniffles.

“Of course, baby. I could never be mad at you. We’ll go home and get ready for bed and cuddle all night, okay? It’ll make you feel better once we’re home.” He sniffles and I watch out of the corner of my eyes as he turns his head to me, glancing to find his eyes shut.

“Okay.”

We get home a few minutes later, and I already know Troye’s asleep before I even look, but it’s confirmed once I shut off the car and turn to look at him.

I can’t stop myself from smiling at the way he looks so peaceful as he sleeps, hand still holding mine. I release my hand from his grip though, getting out of the car and moving to open his door. He groans when I do and I smile, reaching in to shake his shoulder.

“Come on, baby. We have to go inside.” I coax as he shifts his head to me, eyes still shut and obviously still half asleep as he grumbles in response. I roll my eyes, reaching over his lap to undo his seatbelt and let it snap back into place. “Troye.” I elongate his name, watching him scrunch his eyes and blindly wave me off.

“Tired.” He groans. I laugh.

“I know, T. Just get up and I’ll carry you inside, okay?” I see his lips curve into a small smile, eyes still shut.

“You will?” I roll my eyes again at his antics, secretly loving it even if I tease him for it.

“I will. Come here.” He hums and opens his eyes slightly, grabbing my hand and letting me pull him up and out of the car. He immediately presses himself into me, arms wrapping around my neck again. I shake my head and wrap an arm around him, pulling him away from the car more so I can shut the door.

Soon, I’m hoisting Troye up and walking us to the house, his head tucked into my shoulder.

“Thank you, Tilly.” He mumbles tiredly as I shut and lock the door behind us after tossing my keys on the table by the front door. I hate how cute he is. Honestly.

“You’re welcome, baby. Now, let me put you down and take off my shoes. You need to, too.” He hums a low agreement and I set him onto his feet, keeping a hand at his waist so that I can balance him as he starts to kick his shoes off, doing so without incident. I take mine off and feel him suddenly grab me by the middle of my shirt, pulling me close to him.

He stumbles as I press into him, smiling sleepily when our foreheads press together. My heartbeat increases at the proximity and forwardness of his actions, shivering as his other hand settles at my shoulder, rubbing sensually.

“Tilly.” He whispers, still obviously drunk and even more evident in the smell of his breath. Tequila, like before.

“What is it, T?” He smiles, humming before pressing a soft kiss to my lips and pulling back, eyes opened and looking right at me, albeit a bit unsteadily.

“I love you.” He whispers. The feeling from before is back; the way my body felt a bit more tingly at his words. But I almost feel guilty for loving it so much, knowing he’s drunk. I’m not sure if he means it like I do, or if he’s even going to remember it. Either way, though, I know I couldn’t stand the sadness in his eyes if I didn’t say it back. And, I do mean it.

“I love you, sweetheart.” I lean in and kiss him, feeling his hand move from my shoulder to my neck, sliding up the back of it and fingers entangling in my hair. I get tingles at the feeling of it, and immediately pull away, knowing that this will only lead where it doesn’t need to, even if he does pout at me in response. Even if Troye and I have done some intimate things, there’s no way it’s happening tonight when he’s like this.

“Ty…” He groans. I shake my head.

“I need to get you to bed, T.” I remind him. He groans and rolls his eyes, sighing out.

“Tilly…” He pleads, leaning in to kiss me again. I peck his lips, immediately pulling back.

“Bed, sweetheart. You need to sleep.” He sighs and eventually huffs, stomping away dramatically towards the stairs and making me roll my eyes. He’s not even mad, and I definitely know this to be true when he only gets a few feet from me before turning back and reaching his hands out to me, gesturing me closer.

I get to him and he walks with me. I make sure a hand is at his back, especially as we walk up the stairs and he sways with almost every step. I’m glad when we eventually get to the landing, even more thankful that my bedroom is the first room.

The door is open and Troye walks inside, immediately moving from me and stripping off his shirt. I smile and shake my head as he makes a show of plopping himself on the bed, sitting on the edge slightly reclined with his hands against the mattress.

“Now, you know you can’t sleep quite yet. You’ll kill me in the morning if I don’t make you wash your face.” I tell him as I toss my own shirt off. He groans as I get to him, looking up at me as I bring a hand up to comb through his hair.

“I’ll be fineee.” He groans, making me roll my eyes.

“You will not. You’ve told me that before and I thought I was going to get murdered. You are washing your face.” I lean down and grab at his forearm, tugging him to me. He pulls back, shaking his head adamantly.

“You can’t make me.” I sigh, bringing my free hand to cup his face.

“Okay. You’re right.” I concede, watching his satisfied smile. “But, can I at least get you to walk with me to the bathroom? I’ll do it for you.” I offer, hopeful he’ll accept. He nods, immediately hopping up. I roll my eyes and switch my hand to his, tugging him along with me.

We get to the bathroom and I turn on the light, listening as Troye dramatically groans. I let go of his hands and pat the counter.

“Sit up there.” I tell him, watching from my periphery as he does so while I grab the travel-sized face wash he’s left here before. I grab a soft cloth, too, and move the items closer to him before reaching to turn on the taps, waiting for it to warm up.

He waits rather patiently for a drunk person as I get the water to a good temperature and then put the cloth under it, wetting it enough so that I can dampen his face with it.

“Okay, shut your eyes.” I tell him as I bring the cloth to him, wiping it over his skin and listening to him hum in approval after his eyes have fallen shut. I stroke over his cheeks, chin, jaw, nose, and forehead, feeling Troye’s hand reach out and settle on my hip as I do so. I smile and set the cloth down, getting some face wash on my fingers and rubbing it together to foam it up a bit before applying it onto his skin. He sighs as I lather his face with the foam, relaxing under my touch.

“Thank you.” He whispers as I rinse off my fingers and reach for the cloth to dampen it more. I nod with a smile, bringing the cloth up and starting to wipe at the suds on his face.

“Anytime, baby.” I tell him, truly meaning it. I would probably do anything for him, and this just seems like the bare minimum.

I eventually wring out the cloth and toss it into the hamper, moving to find a dry cloth and pat it on his face. He smiles and eventually scoots himself closer to me when I’m done, leaning in and loosely wrapping his arms around my neck, hands rubbing gently between my shoulder blades and making me sigh at the touch.

“So, since we’re here, I mean…” he trails off, making me narrow my eyes at his obvious suggestion.

“You are so thirsty. All the time. I swear.” He giggles but leans up, a hand moving to the back of my neck to pull me in a bit closer. His nose is against mine, breath warm against me as he speaks.

“Kiss me, please.” He pleads. I sigh.

“Baby, I really think you should go to bed.” He pouts.

“Just, like, a minute makeout session. That’s all I need.” I can’t help but laugh at his words, knowing not one person ‘needs’ a makeout session. But he seems to really want it, and it’s not like I don’t. I just don’t want him expecting more, when that can’t happen.

“One minute. And then you’re going to bed.” He smiles brightly before immediately kissing me, seeming so eager to have permission. It’s not exactly like this is abnormal for him, sober Troye also definitely has a soft spot for kissing, but I do kind of love how eager he is right now.

I kiss him back and hear him let out a low whimper, pulling me impossibly closer and suddenly wrapping his legs around my hips.

“Troye…” I warn into his mouth between long kisses. He nods gently into me, moving a hand to cup my cheek.

“I know. I’ll behave.” He says, obediently slowing his lips to a more sensual kiss on his own. I sigh at his submission to me, reaching up to find the hair at the back of his head and running my fingers through it once more tonight.

Kissing him is an honor I never thought I would obtain, but, god, I am so incredibly lucky that he’s mine now. Being able to have him like this, have him in any capacity, is probably one of my biggest accomplishments.

He eventually pulls back, forehead pressed to mine as he catches his breath. I open my eyes to find his still shut, kissing him quickly again.

“I think it’s bedtime, huh?” I say as he sleepily opens his eyes, yawning. He nods, leaning in to hug me tightly around my neck and nuzzle his head into my shoulder. I pick him up, feeling him press a few kisses against my shoulder as we make our way to the bedroom again.

I settle him down onto the edge of the bed, standing up once he finally lets go of me. His eyes are still shut, body swaying slightly in accordance with his drunken state.

“Do you want me to take off your pants?” I offer, not surprised when he smirks to himself. Even with his eyes closed, I roll mine as he nods.

“Yes, please.” I crouch down in front of him and reach for the button of his jeans, sliding it through the loop of fabric before tugging down his zipper. He lifts his hips up so I can pull them off of him, and I’m not really shocked to find that he’s hard in his red boxers. It makes me bite my lip, thinking of revealing him as I toss his pants off to the side.

I won’t, of course. That’s definitely a line I won’t be crossing tonight. But it is kind of hot that I can make him all bothered just by kissing him.

I get to my feet and make quick work of discarding my pants as he crawls into the bed, melting against the mattress in an instant as he pulls the blanket over himself.

I join him quickly, not shocked when he’s quick to cuddle into me, head on my chest and leg wrapped over mine. I rub over his back and listen to his breathing even out, knowing he’s just seconds from falling asleep.

“Goodnight, Tro.” I whisper, leaning to press a kiss against his head. He makes a soft noise, mumbling the same back to me.
