Chapter Text
I felt like an outcast for the majority of my life. As if I doesn't belong to this town in California, where I couldn't fit in and never had any real friends. It turned out that I was in fact different when I almost burned the house down.
That day was etched into my memory, right beside the day Farrah Dowling telling me about the other world, fairies and magic. I almost didn't believe her, but here I am Attending Alfea, the most prestige fairy college in the fairy world.
I stood with my luggage in the middle of the path leading toward the largest building. One of the guys tried to mansplain the school and everything, but I barely understood half of it. The carbon copy of Ken kept explaining where the fairy hall was and where the specialists stayed. I wished he'd shut up.
"Quit perving on the first years Sky"
I looked at the brunette guy approaching us and had to tear my eyes away from his. Unreal, downright unreal. Was he a fairy too?
"Whatcha staring at, redhead?" He suddenly said, stepping closer. I took a step back because I got started, stumbling over my luggage. His hand caught my arm just in time and with a sharp pull I collided with his chest. Cheap aftershave, alcohol and nicotine hit my nostrils right after and I cringed internally. "Scared of me already?"
"Quit perving on the first years, Riven." The blonde huffed and the guy let go of me instantly. "Only kept her from breaking her neck." Riven, apparently that was his name, said with a smirk. "Don't worry, Saint Sky. I'm not going to wreck a first year on her first day. I have manners."
I stared at him, in disbelief and also a bit of curiosity. Who was he? The warning signs were screaming at me in neon signs but I couldn't help but wonder about his story.
"Manners? You had five semi stable relationships last semester. Not to mention the poor girls you left heartbroken." The blonde said. Sky? Didn't he call him Sky? Weird name. Who names their kid after the literal sky?
"Alrighty little fairy, gonna see you around." Riven smirked and eyed me up and down. "Yeah... Sure..." I grabbed my luggage and almost fled towards the main building.
"I'd stay away from Riven, he's no good." Stella, the fairy who showed me around, a Barbie doll if I had to describe her somehow. "How do you call those guys.. Fuckboys, I suppose." She added and opened the door to the suite we were sharing with some other fairies.
I stumbled over a flower pot standing in the middle of the floor. "Urgh. Terra don't let that nonsense standing around like that. It's bad enough I already have to live with you." Stella sneered at the girl who rushed to get the plant pot. "Sorry." She muttered. "Nothing happened." I quickly said and forced a smile.
"Your room is over there." Stella pointed to a door and I pulled my luggage behind me to the room. I slumped on the bed by the windows and stared at the ceiling.
A fairy college. I shook my head. This must be a really messed up dream.
But... Could I make up those eyes? My thoughts drifted back to the guy with those unreal eyes again.
