“Why did you want to come back, Kento-kun?”

“Is that the first thing you will say after what we did just now?”

Nanami scoffed, propping himself to lean against the headboard. The blond-haired man sighed, then decided to comb his hair in frustration. Both of them are in an expensive hotel in Shinjuku after a brief yet intense phone conversation. All Nanami said was, "I decided to come back," and Satoru scrambled to teleport to his exact location. No other words were exchanged, but the way the taller one yanked the other to a secluded area, the heated glances, and the nasty make-out that neither of them knew who started suggested that the matter was different from their casual exchange. Not even paying attention to how many rounds it had been for them to finally calm down. The only light illuminating their space was the moonlight casting on the windows. They can’t see each other that well, but the glow provided a soft filter to their figure. Satoru took a glance at Nanami, eyeing the bruises and hickeys that decorated the other’s white-toned skin, from his neck down to his navel, where the piece of fabric teased what’s underneath, and sighed. The older man himself didn’t know what came to his mind when he heard the resolution shared with him. Maybe he just zeroed in on the thought of being with Nanami again, aside from casual messages and one-night stands. The thought of fighting side-by-side again for their shared goals seems…rather magical to Gojo.

“Well, can you blame me?” Satoru rebutted, “After all those years trying to escape, why will you go back to this hellhole?” The white-haired man reasoned, knowing the torture his kouhai endured during his stay at Jujutsu High, and the death of his only classmate and best friend, which put the nail in the bag for him to leave. He remembered getting angry at the situation and at himself for being powerless to stop anything. Yet, he respected Kento’s decision and supported him living as a non-sorcerer. Satoru ultimately forbade anyone, even the higher-ups, from stopping Nanami from leaving. Even going as far as keeping tabs on any malicious surveillance and activity against him. Gojo only wanted the other to be happy and live comfortably, even if it meant not being a sorcerer or being together. He even agreed internally that this is the best course that the younger will take, far from dangerous missions and curses. So he then revolved around as someone who can take any kind of attention the other can give with gratitude, severing their relationship into something far less. Satoru is racking his brain, thinking of possible reasons for the change of air. Did someone slip from his eyes and pressure him to rejoin? Is he in imminent danger? He wanted answers now.

“I…I don’t know.” Nanami whispered, confusion laced in every word he said.

“When I’m at Jujutsu High, I despise those higher-ups who are unthinkingly using sorcerers as disposables for the sake of the greater good.” Nanami tried to sit properly, but hissed in pain from his bottom. Satoru immediately helped him and caged him in his figure. When they’re done positioning themselves, Gojo patted Kento’s thighs to urge him to continue, “I escaped because I don’t want to experience it anymore. Turns out that even as a non-sorcerer, people will just gonna use you as they please. Not even thinking about the consequences.”

Nanami sighs and leans more comfortably against the taller’s chest. The smaller man felt a kiss land on the top of his head and fought the urge to cry while sharing his story. ”Job’s stressful, but there’s no easy job, is there? I can take tons of paperwork and chase deadlines.” Kento allowed himself to be vulnerable and let a tear run down his cheek, “But the reality is that people will do anything to abuse you for themselves is a slap to me. That I can’t escape it.” Satoru, albeit not seeing the other, felt the shake of Nanami’s shoulder, reached his chin, and kissed his cheek. Frowning to taste the salty tears, but drawing random shapes on his face and hugging him tighter as comfort. Silently absorbing all of his partner’s outbursts and offering his ears to listen.

“You know what? I’m tired of this bullshit.” Nanami shook his head, and, squeezing Satoru’s arm to thank him, said, “If it’s going to be the same, I’ll choose something that I, at least, have an edge.”

Kento looked up to face the older’s soft face and playfully pinch his cheek, “Are you satisfied now?”

Satoru winced but didn’t let go, “Yeah.” He made the blonde-haired man face him fully and kissed him on the lips, “I am satisfied, yes.”

“Good.” Nanami smiled and wiped his tears, “Because if you don’t, I won’t hesitate to kick your ass.” Gojo laughed loudly, and was soon followed by Kento with his chuckle.

After some moments, blue meets hazel, and the warm feeling surrounds them. Satoru finally managed to calm down and dismiss the voices in his head. He erased all of those negative assumptions he had made before the confession and signed in relieved. He’s happy that Nanami took a sweet time to arrive at a decision, and swore to be on his side no matter what. Satoru flashed his signature grin and began blabbing to alleviate the mood, “Oh, you will love my students! I’m currently handling first years and—”

“Hold your horses,” Nanami shushed him, “I will only sign again as a sorcerer, not a teacher.”

“Aww, but they’re adorable!” Gojo whined, knowing he can’t force the others on things but will still make them close to Nobara, Megumi, and Yuuji because he trusts Nanami the most.

“I think I can set up a meet-up for you and Yuuji—”

“You’re not listening, are you?” Kento shakes his head, but is not mad at Satoru. He knew the other so much that his actions are always (well, aside from his sneaky tricks he pulled every time they have sex) with good intentions. Kento is aware of Gojo’s caring figure kicking to his bones, and the urge to protect youth is something that they share.

“Hmm… Yeah, so Yuuji’s my new student. He’s Sukuna’s vessel, and after yapping to higher-ups, he’s at Jujutsu now under my care.”

“What the fuck are you on?!” Nanami jumped to his seat, still couldn’t believe that a dangerous curse (the King of Curses, mind you) is slipping through Gojo’s mouth like it’s not a big deal. Is that the other deals throughout the years?

The taller man only pouted at the smaller man’s reaction, “I promise you that he’s a good kid!”

“Whatever. Let me sleep.” Kento resigned and decided to plop onto Satoru’s body like a cushion. The other let out an Oof! but quickly adjusted their new position. He closed his eyes as tiredness quickly claimed him after all the things he had gone through today. At least, his heart is at ease knowing that Satoru will always be there for him. He will worry about other things tomorrow. For now, he is proud of himself that he conquered another crisis, and there’s someone to catch and protect you. Even as a self-reliable and efficient man Nanami is, he admits that the feeling of being in Satoru’s arms brings a unique sense of safety.
