Work Text:
Impulse’s day has been shity to say the least.
With a nice start to his day, he forgot he was out of his favorite snack bars he has for breakfast so he had to take one of the ones he bought a month ago to try, that sucked. He then ended up tripping down the last three stairs out the door of his apartment complex.
He picked himself up and headed to work.
Of course he had to work next to the one person at his job that actively hates him for no reason, and some lady screamed at him that he made her order wrong.
After work his car wouldn't start.
Tears started to well in his eyes, if his car broke, he did not know what to do.
Thankfully, it started up, and he was able to head home (not without getting stuck in traffic).
Once he finally got home, he flopped down on his couch, exhausted.
He laid there for all of 30 seconds before his phone buzzed.
He picked it up, looking at it.
‘Jimmy <3: I’ll be over in a hour <3’
Impulse’s panic rises again.
The brunet forgot his boyfriend was coming over today and his apartment is trashed.
Impulse sighs, getting up off the couch, he needs to clean, he can rest later, now he needs to make his home presentable before Jimmy gets here.
‘Me: see you :3’

Impulse is just done unloading the dishwasher, the last thing to do, when he hears his doorbell.
He feels a smile tug at his lips as he runs over to the door.
When he opens it, he’s greeted with the sight of his beautiful boyfriend.
“Hey Impulse!” Jimmy says, leaning down and pressing a kiss to the shorter man’s lips.
Impulse’s cheeks heart up a light pink as the kiss.
“Hey Jimmy,” he says.
“Are you okay man?” Jimmy asks, “You seem tired.”
“It’s been one of those days,” Impulse says, “The ones where everything seems to be going wrong.”
“Oh Impulse.” Jimmy says, “Could I come in, baby?”
Impulse nods, letting the blond inside his home.
“Go sit on the couch, I have an idea.” Jimmy says, walking towards the kitchen.
Impulse goes and sits on his couch.
After a bit, Jimmy comes back with two mugs, hot steam curling off the top of them.
He hands one to Impulse, who blows on it a little before taking a slow sip, tasting the black tea, flavored with raspberries, and sweetened with honey.
Impulse closes his eyes, taking in a deep breath of the tea’s steam, sipping on it again.
After the tea is gone, Jimmy takes his mug, setting it on the coffee table with his, “Do you want to cuddle?”
“Yes please.” Impulse says, nodding his head.
“Lay down.”
Impulse does just that, laying down on his back.
Jimmy grabs a blanket off the back of Impulse’s couch, laying it over his own shoulders before laying down on top of his boyfriend, resting his head on Impulse's neck.
Impulse closes his eyes, the weighted feeling of someone on top of him, nice, reminding him of a weighted blanket. Along with the warmth of another body, and the blanket Jimmy grabbed, it feels cozy.
Impulse yawns, feeling even more tired.
He closes his eyes and falls asleep, comforted and loved.
