Chapter Text
It had been 8 years since they had met at Hope's Peak and 7 years for them to confess to each other and tomorrow is the big day.
The wedding.
And Kiyotaka Ishimaru was losing his goddamn mind in his bathroom.
He was practically having a mental breakdown, I mean, the wedding is tomorrow. Tomorrow! That's only a few hours away! What if everything goes wrong? This is the single most biggest (is that a word?) day of their lives! He cannot mess it up.
“Yer buzzin’, what's wrong?” The biker says as he suddenly appears in the doorway. He's leaning against the door and has one hand on his hip and the other on the door frame, and he looks amazing.
God, he could just make Taka melt. Seriously, his knees were getting weak, and he might have fallen into his arms right then and there.
“I’m nervous. What if I forget my vows?” He muttered.
“Did ya forget yer vows?” Mondo shot back.
“Well…. No,”
“Perfect, and if ya do, just talk about how awesome I am, nobody will know!”
This was probably good advice, but people are supposed to know their vows, not “make somethin’ up”.
“I will know,”
“Yeah, but we'll laugh about it later,”
Kiyotaka let out a deep sigh, “The reception will be doing the laughing,”
“No way! They'll be way too busy crying their eyes out ‘cuz of how fuckin-”
“Language!” he added quickly.
“How fucking beautiful the goddamn wedding will fucking be,”
Mondo was met with silence and an eye roll from the hall monitor.
“Alright, let's go to bed, huh? We need good beauty sleep for tomorrow,”
“I suppose you're right,”
“Always am!” The biker laughed, and upon hearing said laugh, Ishimaru remembered exactly why he proposed.
That laugh was dangerous, consuming. It was undoubtedly Taka's favorite part of Mondo. He had this huge laugh that always pulled you under. It was so genuine, so.. free? Mondo could've asked Taka to move to Antarctica or even kill someone, but if he laughed afterwards there's no way he could've said no. He never cared if it was too loud, he just laughed. Of course that could've gotten annoying very quickly but it made the prefect's heart melt. Every. Single. Time.
And this time was definitely not an exception.
The two headed off to bed, Taka having butterflies and Mondo being absolutely unaware of his effect on the other.
