Rabbit in wolves clothing
I am a boy
A small boy at that
That's the first thing you see when I come into your vision
I am greasy and small
Pale and ghostly
Thin and gangly
Hair like spilled ink and eyes like a frightened doe
I am small
So small
Like a rabbit or baby fawn
But you are big
So big
Tan and handsome
Strong and mighty
Hair like a comb out birds nest And eyes like a fiery blaze
You are strong like a lion or stag
Mighty and brave
But you bite
And i bite too
Like birds you all circle
And like wolves you bite and mawl
People fear your fangs
And i do too
But I bite as well
More or less
But what is a rabbit with fangs
To a pack of wolves
You bite and mawl
And scratch and bark
While I run and hide and bite and kick
I'm by myself most of the time
So no one comes to help
Like a pack of coyotes they gather around
Yelping and laughing
As the wolves chase me down
I run as fast as I could
But there faster
They pin me down
And lift me up
Floating in the air I struggle
Ears and paws alike do nothing to help
I fall to the ground with a light thud
Legs shaking and mind twisting
But there not done
Four together
And four alike
There all the same give or take
Two are ruthless while one follows
The forth stay behind
Just watches and scoffs
There all the same in my mind
Cruel and wicked
Eyes wide and round like balls of coal
Meet smile and grins wide like a crescent moon
Eyes amused and hungry like lions stalking their prey
I wish to be strong and mighty
To give as much as I get
But rabbits don't howl
Like wolves don't hop
But i can't try
I snarl and hex and kick
Trying to get away
No one helps
They gather around
More and more
Like a pool of eyes and smiles
Laughing as the wolves tear me apart
Claw after claw
Hex after hex
I wish I was big and strong
But im small
So
so small.
