Chapter Text
What had happened before was bad. Player just didn’t want to believe it would have gotten worse.
An infection had happened, destroying their life. Destroying everything. It had taken their friends. At this point, they felt terrible. They were staying in a place with the other survivors, those being Zizzy, Georgie, and Pony. Player was sure they were all as scared as they were. Player wasn’t even sure how this happened.. one moment they were wandering around, and the next they had gotten knocked out. Before they knew it, they waked up in some kind of classroom, yet it looked.. familiar.
They looked around the classroom, confused by it all. The one thing that caught their eye was the windows. For whatever reason, it was bolted shut. How weird. Player walked around the classroom some more, trying to figure out if there was anything that was missing, before they eventually left the room, ending up in this hallway that seemed endless.
Walking around, Player kept taking random turns at where ever they could. Eventually, they had gotten to what seemed like a cafeteria. Closing the door behind them, they explore the room, trying to find any clues on where they could be at. As Players searching continued, they heard footsteps behind themselves, turning around immediately. The person who was walking up jumped slightly, backing away.
???: AH! I-I’m sorry- I didn’t mean too-
The person stammers, holding his hands up defensively. He was wearing a pizza place uniform, although Player couldn’t pinpoint which pizza place it was.
Player: It’s fine, calm down, please.
They say firmly, attempting to calm the pizza place worker down.
???: R-Right.. I-I didn’t mean to uhm.. to spook you, really..!
Replied him, only calming down a bit.
???: I was just trying to introduce myself, I swear..!
Player: No, No.. I understand. We can still talk. I’m Player, Ultimate Officer, if that helps.
Elliot: It’s nice to meet you! I-I’m Elliot Builder! The Ultimate Pizza Delivery Boy!!
The person, now known to Player as Elliot, introduced himself, his mood changing completely.
Player: Its nice to meet you as well. Do you want me to stay with you? At least for now, you still seem stressed after all.
Elliot: Sure! I’m sure we could meet some more people if we explore!
Player nods, starting to walk out of the cafeteria, waiting by the door so Elliot could catch up. After a few seconds, they went outside, walking around the place. During their exploration, they both had found many rooms; all of which seemed.. off in a way. Player couldn’t explain how, though. After a bit, they had stumbled into a gym, spotting around 14 other people, if you could even call some of them people.
A tiny robot: More people? But I thought we already had enough!
A noob with a party hat: oooo, dat makez 16 of us, rite?
A blonde man: I guess? Sixteen seems like a weird number.. you sure there isn’t more?
A prisoner: ####
Few of the people in the gym started talking, probably as equally confused as the others. Not before long, a loud cough came from the front, which caused everyone to turn around to see who it was.
A cat-like entity: sorry about that! Anyways, Welcome!
It spoke. Not only did the cat thing speak, but also coughed. It didn't really come as much as a surprise to Player, but judging from the others reactions, they might've been a little shocked.
A cat-like entity: let me introduce myself.. I'll be the host of this game! Names Xebeth, don't forget it!
the cat, now introduced as Xebeth, still spoke, ignoring all of the confused looks given by half the people in the area.
Xebeth: Well, now that you know me, let's speak about the game. To put it simply, it's a killing game. A game of life and death.. You little.. Things get that?
It asked rhetorically, pointing the group infront of it. The thought of such a game settled deeply, few of them protesting.
A man in a blue and black sweater: Is this some kind of prank? It.. It isn't funny, you know..
The Big Cheewait what: someone wouldn't just kidnap all of us for a simple prank.
Xebeth: ding ding ding! At least Mr. Jack understands! But as I was saying before I was RUDELY INTERRUPTED.
Xebeth glared directly at the blue and black sweater man, before putting its attention back at all of us.
Xebeth: You'll have to compete with eachother to see who's the best killer. Fun, right? Once someone gets killed, their body has to be reported. Now, you guys will then proceed to the trial ground, to find the killer! If the killer is found out, they get punished. However.. If they aren't.. It isn't gonna look good for everyone else, got it? Any questions?
The silence was thick. No one wanted to speak. The whole thing sounded like a nightmare. But it wasn't. They were all awake in this moment.
Xebeth: None? Ah well, that's to be expected, I guess.. With that being said, let the game begin!
It says all too excited, disappearing in thin air in front of everyone. Everyone glanced at each other, their intentions unknown to even themselves.
All that Player knew was that they couldn't trust anyone of them anymore. For their thoughts were an engmia. But, they knew they needed to survive. For Doggy, for Bunny, for everyone at the Safe Place.. And especially for themselves.
The game had only just started, after all.
