Chapter Text
Seungmin was always quite reserved and rarely went out, preferring to stay home and study most of the time. Felix would often encourage him to go out, and sometimes it would work, but only if Seungmin promised to do something for Felix in return, like paying for coffee the next day.
“Come on, minn! You need to get out more!" Felix said "And you should have more friends than just Jeongin and me, no offense," Felix said while tugging on Seungmin's arm.
".. You're such a 'pabo,' Lix-ah, you know. Have a test next Tuesday."
"I know, Minnie, but it's only Saturday and you need to have fun for once! Pleaseee?"
“Mhm…”, “Would you stop bothering me if I say yes?” Seungmin asked
“Yes, yes, yes! I promise you, I won’t bother you while you study for a week. Just please come to the party tonight!”
“Alright, alright! I’ll go to the party tonight, Lix. When does it start?” he said, giving up.
“Yess!!! ~” Felix exclaimed happily. “It’s at 7:00 PM. If you’d like, I can help you pick an outfit since I have an amazing sense of fashion~”
"Yeah.. Not happening"
Seungmin leaned against his bed, his eyes fixed on the closet as if it were a tricky exam he hadn’t prepared for. He could already sense the nervous energy building in his chest, each tick of the clock reminding him that the party was just around the corner.
He grabbed a plain white T-shirt and held it up to his face in the mirror, scrunching his nose. Was it too laid-back? He tossed it on the bed and grabbed a button-up instead. The thought of walking into a house full of laughing, shouting people made his stomach twist. He pictured all the unfamiliar faces looking his way, and he quickly looked down at the floor.
Seungmin checked the time on his phone for the fifth time in three minutes. He ran a hand through his hair and muttered to himself, “It’s just a party…” His voice wavered. Even the light in his room seemed too bright, his reflection a little too unsure.
Finally, he grabbed a simple sweater and skinny jeans, deciding he’d rather blend in than stand out. He stuffed his hands into his pockets and took a deep breath, rehearsing what he would say if anyone talked to him.
When the doorbell rang Felix, no doubt—Seungmin felt his heart jump. He gave himself one last glance in the mirror, straightened his posture, obviously nervous.
"Loosen up!!!" Felix said when Seungmin opened the door.
"Who's driving?" Felix asked
"I am. "I still don't trust you to drive, especially when we're going to a party," Seungmin said, grabbing his keys.
“Hey, I swear, hitting a mailbox was a one-time thing..!" Felix said, climbing to the passenger seat of Seungmin's car
They get to the party, and Seungmin was right. He was not going to like tonight's plans, but it's too late to leave now. They walked inside, and Seungmin sees a familiar face. "Hyunjin?" Seungmin thought to himself. Has he stayed close to Felix?
"AH! Hiiiii Minniee~," Hyunjin said, sounding off tone and even a little more high pitched.
"Jinnie-hyung? Are you drunk? Didn't the party start 30 minutes ago?" Asked Seungmin
"Whatttt?~ 'Naurrrr' I would never be drunk on a..." he said as his brain wandered off, then walked away.
"Lix-ah, I love you, but please get your boyfriend under control," said Seungmin.
"W-wait! We aren't dating, Min!" Felix said, clearly showing he has a crush on Hyunjin, which pisses off Seungmin that they haven't confessed already.
Felix and Hyunjin had always had some sort of tension that Seungmin seemed to notice after hanging out with them a lot more than usual, and the biggest thing I noticed is how cringy they are now. Seungmin doesn’t know that the other members noticed how clingy they are since they’ve been focusing on getting Han and Lee together, but it is reasonable since they are so obvious.
"I'm so sorry Seungmin I know you hate party's but I need to get Hyunjin under control I'll be back I like 10 or 20!." He said sounding like he’s being rushed as he speed walks away
About five minutes later, someone noticed Seungmin alone at a party and walked up to him. “Hey!“You’re Kim Seungmin, right?” “Yes, that is I, and you are..?” “Seo Changbin! I’m friends with Felix; that’s how I know you. I promise you I’m not some stalker.
"I wasn’t thinking that, but good to know. Aren’t you a producer?”
“Yeah, I am. Let me guess, Felix told you?”
"Bingo, he tells me everything, and he really enjoys that studio you guys practice in."
They ended up talking to each other the whole time Seungmin was waiting for Felix to come back, and Seungmin completely forgot that he was waiting for Felix. He got so into the conversation he was having with Changbin, who surprisingly had the same interests as Seungmin.
When Felix came back, he was nothing but excited that Changbin and I finally met, and the funny thing is that they should’ve known each other already, but Seungmin refused to meet new people.
Seungmin looked at Felix, then back at Changbin, and noted the sparks in his eyes were very dreamy, he would admit, which is weird since Seungmin doesn’t usually get along with newer people.
