Chapter Text
Himiko Toga had never fit in. It had all started when she was three and her Quirk manifested giving her sharp vampire fangs which were reminiscent of the type a vampire would have, the first day her fangs had grown in she had gone outside into the garden where she saw a small robin laying on the ground, it was twitching in pain with its wing bent in a way she had never seen before, she didn't understand what had happened to it but there was one thing she understood, that bird was cute, really cute she hesitantly scooped the robin into her hands, after picking it up she was able to feel its heartbeat in her palms the blood flowing to the wing it had snapped, she brought the bird closer to her face her slitted eyes not moving from the birds wing that had started to turn a beautiful shade of red, the blonde girl was entranced by it and without thinking she bit into it, the warm liquid that filled her mouth was incredible and the colour leaking out from the newly opened wound onto its body made the bird look even prettier she had to show her parents.
"Stop that, what do you think your doing?"
"Stop that smile, you look like a deviant"
After that day her parents had been careful to hide their daughters true nature, Himiko Toga was also careful to never let the mask they had constructed for her slip from her face.
It was a day like any other for the fanged girl, wake up, take a shower, brush her teeth, put on her middle school uniform and brush her hair just enough to get the knots out but not enough to make it look nice. Her school day passed by without note that was until lunch break, she had been staring across the classroom at Saito, she knew she shouldn't have if anyone noticed her reputation would turn from creepy girl to creepy stalker, he had been talking with his friends about something or other, she wasn't close enough to make out the words but she was sure it had to be something extremely cute just like him, she had been fantasizing about drinking Saito's blood since they met each other on the first day of class two years ago, he was kind the first person she had met who never called her names or gossiped about her behind her back, nobody knew about the blood part of her quirk but most people still didn't trust her after all fangs are a villainous trait they said, he was the only person she had ever considered revealing the truth about her Quirk though she ultimately decided against it not wanting to risk him also learning to hating her. When she thought about Saitos blood she couldn't contain her excitement as a large smile crept onto her face, she had never actually drunk another humans blood before mostly getting by on her own bodies supply it didn't satiate her desires but it prevented her from acting out, but imagining that cute red liquid flow from the boys body and into her mouth his adorable yelps of pain as she bit into his flesh.
It had all happened so fast, Toga had been shoved to the ground most her mouth coated in a sticky sweet metalic warmth, a crowd had formed to see what had just happened, murmuring, some were pointing cameras at the blonde girl with blood dripping from her mouth the footage would definitely wind up appearing on social media but Himiko wasn't thinking about that for the moment she was too absorbed in the ecstasy after drinking the blood of her first love that was until she heard one word cut through the noise of the crowd that had formed, "She's a monster". Monster, she didn't remember fully what had happened but she could piece together enough from the metallic taste coating her mouth and the injured boy with two large red holes on his arm, both had a crimson liquid pouring out of them, in front of her that she knew she had messed up, her parents had lock her away in her room after what had happened when she showed them that pretty bird she could only imagine how angry they would be after this but that was a problem for the near future the more immediate problem was her certainty that Saito hated her now that she had revealed herself as a freak. She burst into tears and ran out of the classroom, she ran and ran as fast and far as she could not knowing where she would end up, all she knew right now was that she had to run it was definitely a lot easier to do that than to acknowledge what it was that she had just done.
The vampire girl had no clue how long she had been running for, but she did know that her legs were killing her and she needed a break so she ducked into an alley to catch her breath for a while when she fell a blade touch her throat "hey kid lets do this easy now, just give me everything you got on your person and you'll get out of this scot-free" she was trying to pry the criminals blade away from her neck but for some reason he seemed extremely strong. Suddenly her entire field of vision was overtaken by a deep crimson colour she began to feel weightless and the sensation of floating slightly off the ground, A smell encompassed Himikos nostrils as well a strange smell almost like blood but it smelt like it had been tampered with in some way, The girl fell back down to the ground as her vision cleared up.
"Are you okay young man" The white haired hero who had just saved her called out
"huh young man? what do you mean?" Himiko looked down at her hand before noticing that they were slightly larger than her hands her shirt felt tighter near the collar and she was a few inches taller, she must have activated her quirk without realising in her panic to escape earlier. Himiko had realised which hero it was that she was saved by, Vlad King, she didn't know much about pro heroes but she had knew about Vlad King after once using the school library computers to search about more information regrading blood quirks, she wasn't a huge fan of his after all she could never understand why a person would use blood as a weapon, to her blood is something to be treasure and loved not thrown around at criminals but she wasn't in a position to be picky about who saved her.
"Hey kid, you okay? were you hurt were you?"
"Yeah I'm fine he didn't hurt me"
"Well kid take care, also try not to skip class anymore" Vlad King handcuffed the criminal and marched him out of the alleyway
She watched the Blood Hero leave her behind, she had almost wanted to run up to him and confess what she had done how she was a monster who attacked an innocent boy, but she couldn't force her body to move she was scared of what would happen to her.
Himiko's skin started to secrete a thick slime substance as it fell off her body onto the floor her messy blonde hair and slitted eyes revealed themselves. The blonde girl's eye wondered to the spot where she had been attacked focused on the knife the criminal was using, she bent down to pick it up examining its slightly it had a viridian handle and a small curved blade it wasn't the cutest thing she'd ever seen but no harm in taking it. Himiko didn't know what she was going to do, she couldn't go back to her parents not anymore, she also felt terrible about what she had done to Saito she never wanted to hurt another person she loved again. She stuffed the knife into her back pocket and began wondering through the city streets, this was a new experience for the girl her normal routine had always been to take the absolute quickest route between her house and school with next to no room for anything else.
The sun had begun to set with the orange eyed girl having found her way onto Dagobah Beach she didn't have anywhere to sleep and she thought the beach was probably one of the safer areas in the city she could sleep the night, after all even her with her sheltered upbringing knew nobody ever comes onto the beach anymore due to the pollution, even criminals and villains steered clear for the most part. She had managed to find a trash heap that didn't seem like in was at risk of caving in and decided to sleep there for the night, she crawled into the alcove and found it easier to get to sleep than most night as if a large weight had been lifted off of her shoulders as she closed her eyes.
