Zoro x Reader [Sick Fic]

Summary:

Zoro is sick, and you’re the only one who knows what he has. Is there going to be enough time to save Zoro? And if so, what happens between you and the swordsman that you both swear you’d never tell the rest of the crew?

Notes:

The reader goes by Juniper “Jinx” Drift and also has a cybernetic left leg and right arm, which Luffy always thinks is cool. She also has hypersensitivity, which means loud noises hurt her. The sharp vampire fangs (which she claims are “fox fangs” because she has fox ears) also slightly scare Zoro, but in a way he can’t explain.
Also hypersensitivity is where your senses are dialed up to XI (11)

Chapter 1: ~~Chapter I~~

Chapter Text

A/n: Reader is not Y/N, i use Juniper Drift with the nickname Jinx. If you want something different just pretend it’s not there :]

You groaned, annoyed when you hear a coughing sound from the main deck of the ship. You sigh, forcing yourself out of bed to go check out the sound. You roll your eyes when you find out it’s just Zoro coughing. But something throws you off, Chopper looks nervous. “Chopper? What’s goin’ on? Is he ok?” You ask, slightly worried. Chopper looks at you, worry written all over his face “Zoro’s sick. And I don’t know what it is” he mutters, displeased with his negative tests scattered around him and Zoro. You all hear Nami walk out of her room, which makes you jump slightly at the noise. “What the hell’s going on?” She asks, gasping softly when she sees Zoro on the floor, paler than normal. “He’s sick” you mumble. You see extreme worry cross Nami’s face. “Jinx..” she whispers to you “does-does Chopper know what it is yet?” She asks. You gulp “no, not yet” you think for a moment “but I might know. I’m the only one in the crew who came from a more populated area, so I kinda have more experience with stupid sicknesses and diseases. But this one…” you trail off, too scared to say what you know for a fact Zoro is sick with. “What? What is it? What is he sick with?” Chopper asks you, really fast. You wince slightly at the string of words hitting, but you recover quickly. You sigh before saying; “it’s…um…not the best thing that he could be sick with right now”.

You stop talking when Zoro coughs again, proving your theory. “He kinda has this thing called Covid. It was really popular where I’m from. I think I’m the only one immune to it but” you sigh, knowing you just hit your crew with the most devastating news for a ship. “You guys aren’t”. Chopper looks at you, confused and slightly scared for Zoro. “What is Covid, exactly?” He asks. “Juniper Drift, what is Covid?” He growls now, annoyed. You gulp, nervous now once you look at Zoro and how you can see his pulse in his neck now from how much worse he’s getting. “It’s a very, very bad sickness. A lot of people in my town alone have died from it. I don’t know, Chopper, we might have to dock. I know a few people at the next island Luffy wants to go to anyways” you slightly ramble, now that you’re nervous and scared for Zoro. Nami sighs, “okay. If you know someone there…” she looks at her map “actually we’re not even that far. LUFFY DOCK AT THAT ISLAND!”. You wince, covering your ears. “Oop. Sorry Jinx” Nami apologizes quickly, realizing she hurt you. You smile softly “‘s ok. I’m fine” you reassure her.

Zoro coughs again, and you all freeze when he rasps “all of you shut up. None of you are taking care of me like I’m a child. Jinx..how the hell do you cure this Covid thing you say I have?”. Your eyes widen slightly at Zoro’s bitterness. “I-I don’t remember exactly. But if Luffy listens to Nami’s yelling…I could get to a couple friends that know how” you respond, tensing up as if you expect someone to yell. Sanji emerges from the kitchen with a mug of tea, handing it to Zoro. “Easy Marimo, you’re sick and that mug is really hot” he smirks as Zoro burns his tongue on the drink. “Told you, idiot” Sanji teases as Zoro glares at him. You sigh, “I’ll be in my room until Luffy says otherwise. If you need me, don’t. I’m out of my meds” you walks back into your room and carefully close the door.

As you lay on your bed, staring at the ceiling, you yawn. I’ll just close my eyes for a few minutes…, you think, yawning once more and falling asleep.
