Work Text:

It was a regular day like any other in the forest of England. The foliage was radiant as usual in its colour of greens, and there wasn't a cloud in sight.

Fox was in Wolf's kitchen humming one of his favorite classical works of the 19th century. He had come as early as the sun-rise, not bothering to knock and had just walked right in and got to work, having for-gone that habit long ago.

He was currently in the making of an exquisite breakfast for Wolf and his two children.

He much rather would have had a nice rabbit stew for his breakfast, but arriving so early Fox knew that Rabbit was still most likely asleep, that and today he was wearing a nice pair of bottoms he did not wish to be ruined in dirt and grim.

That was a job for Wolf, the brawns of their partnership, while Fox was the pretty and smart one...and the fashionable one... and the charming one... and the—

He was getting off track.

Fox refocused his thoughts and turned his attention on perfecting an omelet he was currently making. He was wearing his signature frilly apron, the purple one that really brought out his eyes.

He continued humming as he flipped the last omelet onto a plate, four dishes for four animals, and quite the perfect dishes if he doesn't say so himself.

After marveling at his fine work his left ear perked up as he heard the familiar heavy steps of his dear friend, Wolf. He made sure to flatten his apron and fix his fur before the Canadian wolf turned the corner, wanting to look his best as always.

With a sleepy grumble Wolf turned the corner, his eyes were half way shut and he was wearing his sleep wear, which consisted of out of fashion flannel jammies, but since they were only sleep wear Fox hadn't mentioned it, but he really had to get the wolf some proper clothes.

The tired wolf raised one of his big meaty paws to wipe away the sleepiness from his eyes, his other hand lifting his shirt to scratch at the fur on his chest, giving Fox a wonderful view of the other's ‘dad bod’, one might say.

Wolf opened his strong jaw, showing the fox rows of sharp teeth as he yawned.

Fox took the moment to stare, analyzing every razor sharp tooth, and the jaw way more powerful than his own.

He shuddered.

He would have jumped the counter and pounced on the other man if it weren't for his children who were probably only moments away from joining their father.

A pity really... He pondered for a moment before looking back at Wolf who had just finished closing his mouth, and had just now noticed the fox.

"Oh," He said, shock appearing on his face for a moment before it disappeared. He looked down to see the plates full of delicious food and a smile spread across his face.

From behind him Fox could see the others' tail wagging. "Fox, good morning. Wow, this is a nice surprise. You didn't have to do this for us."

Fox hummed at the wolf's gratitude. He turned to shut the stove off before turning back once more. "Why wouldn't I? Is it not normal for one to walk into their friends home unannounced when they are sleeping and then treat them to breakfast?" He asked his head tilted.

Wolf just huffed out a laugh as he sat at the counter. "Maybe? I'm not quite sure, but this really is a nice surprise, thank you... was there a particular reason you did this?"

Fox, who had just finished making coffee, he preferred tea himself but who was he to judge, turned around and handed it to him, leaning on the counter. He made a small 'tsk' from his mouth, before replying. "Does one need a reason to show their gratitude to a dear friend?"

"No, it's just usually you would be pulling out a plan for us to capture Rabbit by now, not that I mind it, I know one day we'll catch Rabbit. I was just curious.”

"Well, today I decided to give that rabbit a break from our ingenious plans, today my dear will be a relaxing one for the both of us." Fox explained sitting down to dig into his own plate, making sure to keep his back straight.

Wolf raised a hand to scratch the back of his neck a slightly guilty expression laid upon his face. "T-thats really nice Fox, but I told the boys that today I would be teaching them how to stalk prey...sorry."

Fox just blinked a few times before he went back to cutting up his omelet. "Well... That seems, thrilling... I'm sure the boys are practically jumping out of their fur at the chance to stalk prey with their father." He spoke with sarcasm, knowing the boys were not interested in their predatory instincts, and slightly upset that his plan of relaxation with the wolf had just gotten thrown out of the window.

And after he had just made a wonderful breakfast, might he add.

The sarcasm seemed to fly over the wolf's head though, as he smiled and nodded along excitedly, swallowing a huge chunk of his food. "I know! This will be my chance to show them how to be a true wolf. It's time they start becoming more wolf like and less... glued to their gaming devices, you know? Jeez, I could never understand being so attached to those things."

Fox just hummed as Wolf went on his usual long rants. He properly cut his omelet and placed it in his mouth. Angry that the day wasn't going as he had planned it.

Multiple sounds of thumping down the stairs got Fox's attention. "Well speak of the devil's" He murmured, eating more of his meal.

The two boys raced around the corner, Simon just entering the kitchen first, then very shortly followed by Barry after, both were panting hard, their hands resting on their knees.

Simon who panted some more raised a fist in victory. "I- hah, Am the first! The last one was a rotten egg, guess that means you're a rotten egg, huh?" He teased, bumping a heavily panting Barry with his elbow, causing the other to shove it away.

"No fair, you have longer legs than I do!" Barry whined, now finally catching his breath.

"No, you're just too slow, " Simon teased again.

"Am not"

"Are too"

"Am not"

"Are too"

"Am not-"

"Boys," Wolf interrupted, already feeling a headache coming on, it was too early in the morning to be dealing with this. "You're both pretty fast, now come join us at the counter. Fox made a delicious breakfast and I don't want it to grow cold."

At the mention of food the boys quickly forgot what they were arguing about and sat at their seats, saying a quick 'hi' to Fox before they dug in. They said it like it was a common thing for the fox to be there, which was true since he was there practically everyday.

He just liked the company is all.

They all sat in silence, which was surprising to Fox but looking at how much food that was being shoved in both boys cakehole's they seem to be enjoying the meal he prepared which made the Fox feel good.

Wolf broke the silence with a cough before turning to his two boys, a big smile followed by twinkling eyes.

"Are you guys excited for today?" He asked, tail swishing back and forth.

The two boys swallowed their meal just shortly after they had put it in their mouths, giving each other a confused look.

Fox was sure they didn't even chew, just straight down the gullet it went.

He really had to teach them proper British dining etiquette. Fox just shook his head before tuning in to their conversation.

"About what?" Simon asked, drinking a glass of milk.

Barry looked lost, like he often did. Those poor remaining brain cells, working overtime to produce a single thought.

"Today's alright, but I like yesterday more." Barry answered, munching on his toast.

And my, wasn't that sentence one for the ages. Fox just listened, finishing up his meal and placed his fork and knife down the right way before patting his mouth with a napkin.

He truly out did himself this time, what a meal to start the day, a day where his plans had been cast aside, but that's fine.

His left eye lid twitched.

It was very fine indeed.

Wolf stared before sighing. "Uh, no Barry, I meant are you guys excited for your old man to finally teach you how to stalk prey." Wolf corrected, a smile still plastered on his face.

The boys just glanced at each other before returning to the food, mumbling into their meals.

"Oh yeah, it sounds like fun..." Simon murmured into his glass.

"Yup super fun..." Barry agreed, his pitch was the same as his brothers.

Wolf just grinned wider, and nodded with haste. "It sure is, you too are going to be wolves" He declared proudly, looking off into the distance fondly.

Fox just wanted to face-palm, Wolf often took a lot of things at face value, never digging deeper for a different meaning, what a naive wolf.

But he was his naive wolf so he hadn't let it bother him too much. How else was his sarcasm supposed to fly under the radar?

Once they had finished their meal, Fox stood and collected each of their plates. They both thanked him before rushing to the TV to play video games, fighting over which game to play first.

Fox turned, scraping off the remaining leftovers in the trash before rinsing them off in the sink, he rolled up his sleeves prepared to wash the dishes when a hand wrapped around his wrist.

"Hey, let me wash the dishes," Wolf insisted.

Fox just stared at him before 'tsking' "Why? Are you saying I can't do dishes?" He sassed, turning his snout up and away from the wolf. His feelings from earlier slightly shining through.

Wolf just seemed shocked, letting go of the fox's wrist before waving his hands dismissively. "No! No, what I meant was that you went out of your way to make breakfast for us, the least I could do is clean the dishes." He said, rubbing his neck.

Fox turned to him, staring for a second before nodding. "Fine you may, I just got a manicure so I didn't want to do them anyway," He said, withdrawing himself from the sink, he took off his apron and hung it up on the hanger close by.

Wolf just nodded, cheeks slightly flushed. He took the others spot before he began to wash the dishes, singing a song from that one Rabbit artist 'Bunny and Cider?’ or whatever.

Fox just sat at the counter, tapping his well groomed nails against the counter top, deep in thought.

He was upset that Wolf couldn't hang out with him today, he had planned for him and the other to tan outside together, then maybe get the wolf to rub lotion on his back.

He really wanted to feel those big meaty paws on his backside.

Those big...strong...hands...

The fox just sighed resting his head into the palm of his hand.

Was it really too much to ask he ditch his own children and hang out with the fox today?

Fox just sat there grumbling for a hot minute before he suddenly shot up, an incredible idea sat in his marvelous brain, the incredible brain he kept in the freezer, next to mother.

The fox sighed sadly. Poor mother...

After he did his daily grieving for mommy dearest he thought of his wonderful plan once more.

"I'm truly brilliant" He mumbled to himself, a sly smile spread across his face, as he let out a sickly chuckle, slowly turning maniacal.

"Uh, Fox? You okay?"

Fox snapped out of his scheming, turning to face the other who had finished the dishes, staring at him in a confused state.

"Oh I'm more than okay, my savage wolf. Just thought of a funny joke is all." He waved his paw dismissively.

Wolf seemed to buy it enough, he nodded his head with a shrug from his shoulders, groaning as he stretched his upper body, his shirt slightly lifting to show off some of his stomach, covered in his rich blue fur.

Fox just stared, slurping his tea quite loudly.

Wolf then dropped his arms to his sides, his shirt coming down with them, much to Fox's disappointment, and left briefly. Returning now in his signature clothing which consisted of both a leather jacket and pants, followed by his red shirt and his signature cowboy boots.

"Welp, it's time for us to get a move on kids, you know what they say, 'early wolf brutally kills and eats the rabbit'," Wolf said the phrase so casually.

They both let out a disappointed 'Aww' slowly pausing their video game like they were never gonna play with it again.

"Oh come on now guys, once you start your first stalking, you'll never want to go back." Wolf said, trying to convince the two, who only grumbled in response, but they both stood up, shuffling their feet to meet their dad at the front door.

Now, time for my plan... Thought the devious Fox.

"Yes children listen to your father, now off you go. Leave me by my lonesome—" He cut himself off with a great big sneeze, using his hanky to make it all the more real.

"Bless you," Both Simon and Berry said at the same time causing them to face each other and say jinx, also jinxing again creating a continuous cycle of jinxs.

"Fox are you alright?" Wolf asked, ignoring his children. He looked a bit caught off guard by the sneeze.

"Yes I'm fine—" He cut himself off once more with an even bigger sneeze, holding his hanky to his nose.

"Oh deary me," Fox said leaning against the kitchen counter, placing the back of his hand on his forehead, theatrically.

"Bless you," The two boys repeated once again but before they could go on another endless cycle, Wolf shushed them. His focus, now on his fox friend.

"Are you coming down with something, Fox?" Wolf asked, inching closer to the other, worried.

"It seems so Wolf, I think I might have gotten—"

He held for dramatic effect.

"—the fox flu," Fox finished, still holding the same pose.

"What's the fox flu?" Barry asked, confused.

"Well my dear pup, it's a sickness only foxes can get, quite rare but it's rather brutal I must say."

"Will you be okay on your own?" Wolf asked not sure if he should leave the other alone. This flu seemed pretty serious.

"No, no, I wouldn't want to ruin your quality time with your sons, I'll just grin and bear it, now off you go," he said, making a shooing gesture with his hands.

"Well if you say so—" Wolf started but was quickly cut off.

"Oh, the pain!" Fox let out a loud howl, tilting his head back. "I don't know if I can go on any longer! This sickness is so cruel... 'Acho!'," Fox said dramatically, showing off his impressive acting skills.

"Oh no dad, he seems really sick," Simon, said convinced.

Wolf thought for a moment before turning to his boys, sighing. "Sorry guys but I think we'll have to go stalking another time, I know you guys were really excited for this, but Fox seems to be pretty sick, and I don't want to leave him alone like this." Wolf said with guilt. "I hope you guys can understand."

The two boys looked at each other before shouting with glee. "Yay, we get to go play with Lucy now!" They shouted, and sprinted out the front door without a second thought.

"Uh, wait— ugh, nevermind," Wolf mumbled, shaking his head before turning to Fox, resting a hand on the vulpine's shoulder. "Lets get you to the couch," He insisted.

The couch!? Fox thought his eyes widened.

Is he mad?!

He instead just sighed weakly, fully leaning back into the wolf's body, his back making contact with the wolf's front.

"No, I'm afraid the couch won't do, I need something more comfortable, something big... a bed perhaps?" He proposed turning his head to make eye contact with the wolf, fluttering his eyelashes.

Wolf just sighed and nodded. "Okay, I'll have you stay in Barry's and Simon's room for now, I'll bring up the TV for you like last time—"

"—Well I wouldn't want to contaminate their bed with my sickness now? Then you'll have a whole pack to take care of." Fox insisted, trying to edge the other into having him stay in the wolf's room.

"But I thought you said only foxes could get this flu?" Wolf asked, his head tilted to the side.

Bollocks...

"Yes, I did say that, didn't I..." He mumbled, before shaking his head. "Nevermind that, why don't I just stay in your bed for now, don't want the boys to come back to a taken bed, right?"

Wolf seemed to think on this for a moment before eventually nodding his head. "Yeah, okay, well let's get you up the stairs." Wolf said, urging the fox to begin walking forward.

However the fox instead only leaned more into the wolf, Wolf’ hands shot out to catch the frail fox.

"Ugh, It seems this flu has gone straight to my legs. You're going to have to carry me Wolf, it's the only way." He groaned out.

I'm quite the talented actor. Fox complimented himself.

Wolf grumbled something before surprising the fox by wrapping his arms around the other and lifting him into the bridesmaid's carry.

The fox let out a little yip, shocked by being picked up so soon, but quickly got settled, wrapping his arms around the others fluffy neck.

"So strong~" Fox said satisfied, he was being treated like the royalty he was, and being carried by Wolf was a definite plus.

They were going to spend time together, Fox will make sure of that.

Wolf only blushed, looking away as he focused on carrying the fox up the stairs and then finally into his bedroom.

Fox looked around noticing the tacky interior and second hand furniture, it was as if you walked into a Canadian gift shop, but he didn't completely hate it, it reminded him of Wolf.

He lied. He did hate it but knowing it was Wolf's made him hate it less.

The wolf gently laid him down onto his bed making sure to lay his thick flannel blanket over the fox.

"Such a gentleman as always Wolf, I feel incredibly thankful." He said, relaxing into Wolf's surprisingly comfortable bed.

"It's not a problem. Do you need anything?" Wolf asked.

The fox only moaned, he felt as though the bed was swallowing him whole. "Hmm? Perhaps a tea could help fight this sickness...Oh! And while you're down there, maybe bring the television with you? I don't want to miss my programs being in such a state."

"Tea, and Tv, Got it. I'll be back soon, you just rest for now," Wolf said, determination in his eyes as he turned and left the room.

Fox could only wiggle in the bed some more getting comfy before a snicker left his lips.

Oh today was going to be a wonderful day…

After some time Wolf finally managed to bring him his tea and then began setting up the TV for the fox. Said fox was currently sipping on his second tea of the day, watching the canine move around plugging the TV in the wall.

While his show wasn't currently on, this was enough to keep him entertained, watching the wolf move to one side then the other, bending down to plug things in.

Fox sipped his tea once more.

What a sight indeed

Once Wolf was finished, he handed the other the remote for the TV, before placing something cold on the fox's head.

Fox shuddered at the surprising cold upon his head, he looked up and saw Wolf had given him an ice pack.

“Wanted to make sure you didn't overheat… Oh! And I have a thermometer to see how hot you are.” Wolf said, showing him said device.

Stifling some slight panic of getting caught, Fox just chuckled looking at the wolf. “My dear wolf, you can just simply look at me to see my hotness, no device needed,” Fox teased, giving the wolf a sly wink.

Wolf's face quickly turned a few shades darker as he looked away. “Y-you know what I mean… now, hold still, I need to check your ears.”

As Wolf got closer with the thermometer, Fox had to quickly come up with a solution, something smart, something that would get the wolf off his case.

He slapped the device away.

It flew, landing on the wooden floor a few feet away from them.

For a moment they sat in silence, just staring at each other, before Fox broke first. He groaned, rubbing his hand. “Did I forget to mention the flu causes sudden muscle spasms? Such a pain really.” Fox said, playing it off.

“Foxes have such weird flu’s?” Wolf questioned, walking over to pick the thermometer back up.

“Yes, we are quite the species,” Fox agreed, eyeing the device in Wolf's hand. “You're not still thinking of using that thing still? It was just on the floor, I'm letting you know now, that is going nowhere near me.” Fox said stubbornly, crossing his arms.

“Alright, fine,” Wolf said, tossing it on his desk.

“Thank you, kindly,” He said, as relief flooded over him.

Crises averted.

They sat in silence for a moment before the wolf coughed to break it, rubbing the back of his neck.

Quite the nervous habit. Fox thought as he analyzed the wolf.

“Well, everything's all set up. Anything else you want?” He asked, resting his hands on his hips.

You

Fox only hummed.

He didn't want the wolf to leave him, all of this was so that he could relax with Wolf today.

Then a thought popped into his mind that had the fox grinning. He was such a genius.

“Actually, I just remembered there was a movie I wanted to see that was coming on soon, but I don't want to watch it alone,” Fox said, hoping Wolf would get the hint.

“Oh? Why not?” The canine asked curiously.

“Well, it's because… Oh! I'm so embarrassed to say it. I don't want to watch it alone cause—”

He looked to the side.

“I'm quite scared you see, it's a horror movie and I don't do well with those I confess, but I really want to watch it.”

Of course that was a lie, in reality he actually found horror movies to be quite boring, it was so boring in fact he usually fell asleep before he could finish one. He only remembered this movie was on soon from looking through the channels at his own home and happened to glance at what time this one would be on.

He also knew Wolf liked horror movies.

Those two things definitely had no correlation between each other.

The wolf seemed shocked at Fox's ‘confession’ and was quite taken back. “Wow, I… I never knew you were scared of horror movies. You didn't seem like the type so I never would have thought—”

Fox cut the other off, nodding along as he fed into it. “—Yes I know, a brilliant, rich, gifted fox, scared of simple horror movies, you can laugh if you want, I won't blame you.” Fox said, pulling out his hanky as he pretended to fake cry.

Wolf only seemed to panic as he waved his hands. “No, no, I would never laugh, Fox, I mean, I am quite shocked about it but I wouldn't laugh. So, you want me to watch it with you then?” Wolf asked.

Fox put his hanky away, a big smile plastered across his face. “Well if you insist, who am I to say no?” His mood instantly changing, he patted the empty spot on the bed.

“Well, alright, just let me know if it's too scary and I'll turn it off,” Wolf said, walking to the other side of the bed, and laying on his respective side.

It was too far away from the fox, but he had a whole movie to get the other closer.

He grabbed the remote and quickly picked the right channel. It seemed they were just on time as the first scene showed a dark and stormy night, over an old worn down mansion.

Fox shook his head internally.

So typical…

The ice pack Wolf had given him was quickly taken off and put on the nightstand, when wolf asked why, he simply replied that he had gotten a brain freeze, which seemed to make the wolf stop questioning him.

As the beginning of the movie played, Fox was already incredibly bored.

Who goes into a haunted house after hearing it was haunted by a murderer, then shocked when said ghost tried to attack him? It was truly lackluster writing, he thought.

He glanced over at Wolf who seemed fully into the movie, his eyes locked onto the screen.

If he was going to fake being scared of horror movies he was going to fully take advantage of it, and when a scene one would call ‘scary’ popped up Fox wasted no time in reaching over and grabbing Wolf's arm, locking his own, tangling their limbs.

Wolf jumped at the sudden contact and looked at Fox, but the other refused to take his eyes off screen.

He only stared a little longer before letting the other have his arm.

Success.

As the movie went on Fox had managed to inch closer and closer to the canine before he was shoulder to shoulder.

Halfway through the movie Wolf decided to check in on the fox. “How are you doing? Want me to turn it off yet?

What a considerate wolf. Fox thought.

Fox just shook his head. “No, I think I can manage.”

Wolf just nodded before he asked another question. “Do you need me to get you anything? How about your flu, is it better?”

Fox just sat there before sighing. “My sickness is better but I'm afraid I have a headache. My dear mother used to massage my head to ease the aches..it was one of my favorite memories of her..” Fox said hugging the wolf, his head now on the other's chest, and this time he wasn't lying. Every time he was sick, his mother would pet his head and it was the best thing the fox had ever felt, sometimes he could still feel mothers touch.

Wolf was quiet as he listened to the other talk about his mom, he knew Fox's mom was a touchy subject, and he didn't want to say the wrong thing. So instead for whatever reason he lifted his hand and placed it on the other's head, giving it a small pet.

It affected the other immediately. Fox melted  under the Wolf’s touches, he closed his eyes, humming in satisfaction as he felt the large hand caress his scalp.

He repositioned his body so instead of sitting he was more lying on the other canine's chest, as the wolf continued his very welcoming touches.

Mhm, so good,” Fox encouraged, the side of his face squished against the other broad chest. He wished he could sleep on the wolf all the time considering how comfortable he was.

Above him Wolf's face was flushed as he continued his touches, he didn't quite know why he was doing this but seeing the other so relaxed and melting in his palm made his heart do something it never did before.

He liked seeing Fox come undone by his own hand, usually the fox was in control of everything they did so this was a nice change in pace.

For a while Wolf continued his massage as he watched the movie once again. He was shocked to find out Fox was scared of horror movies but at the same time he was glad. He often felt Fox was pretty secretive when it came to knowing more about the other.

But today he learned some things that made their friendship grow more, and he was happy about that.

Soon the movie came to an end and Wolf had finally taken his hand away from the other scalp.

“Well that movie wasn't so bad, right Fox?” He said waiting to hear the others reply, but got silence in return.

“Fox?” He called the others' name once more only to be met with silence.

He lifted his head and after peering down he realized Fox had fallen asleep. He felt the soft breathing of the canine against his body, he looked really peaceful.

Wolf was stuck in place, not daring to wake the fox up, he wanted the other to sleep off this terrible fox flu. That, and he was quite comfortable.

Actually, even though it was still early a nap sounded pretty good right now and the warm body that was clinging to his frame made the thought all the more better.

Being careful to not wake Fox up, he slowly scooted them both down further until he was able to lay down.

Because of the movement the sleeping Fox also shifted to get more comfortable, letting out a soft hum, he dug his face further into Wolf's chest clinging tighter to the warm body beneath him.

Wolf stared at the ceiling wondering how he had gotten here for a moment. In the morning he had thought he would be outside teaching his boys how to stalk prey but instead here he was in his bed with a sleeping Fox.

But he didn't mind it.

His breathing became slower matching with the others as his eyelids suddenly became heavy, he wrapped an arm around foxes body as he slowly drifted off to sleep.

They managed to sleep for a good few hours before the bedroom door suddenly slammed open.

“Dad do you know where the TV went—” The boys stopped talking as they cut themselves off with a scream, staring at the two canines who were cuddling on the bed.

Wolf instantly awoke as he sat up, embarrassed and flustered.

Fox on the other hand didn't so much as budge having now moved cause of the wolf's sudden moments, shifting off him and onto the bed.

“B-boys I can explain!” Wolf shouted over the boys.

Fox just grumbled, sleepily muttering something about all the racket.

“Why were you cuddling Mr. Fox, dad?” Barry asked, confused.

Simon nodded in agreement.

Wolf just jumped out of bed, glancing at the sleeping Fox before turning back to his boys.

“Well… remember Fox being sick this morning? I took him to my room to recover and we both watched a movie together, and I guess we fell asleep and accidentally got tangled up, that's all there is to it.” Wolf quickly explained, his face felt like it was on fire at the moment and he hoped his sons just took his word for it.

Luckily for him both his son's naiveness seemed to have paid off as they both nodded, unsuspectingly.

“Oh right, I forgot Mr.Fox was sick,” Simon said.

Behind Wolf, Fox groaned as he sat up on the bed, doing a big stretch.

That was one of my best sleeps yet. Fox thought to himself.

Who knew Wolf was a connoisseur of head massages?

When Fox noticed the children, he seemed pretty unfazed, infact he was pretty amused seeing Wolf all panicky and flustered, trying to tell the pups that their cuddle session was nothing more than an accident then what actually happened.

He thought it was quite adorable.

Fox also eventually got up, deciding he had enough of being ‘sick’. And made his way to stand beside the other canine's.

As Wolf was talking to the kids, suddenly seeing Fox beside him made him jump slightly. “Fox, shouldn't you stay in bed? Your still sick.” Wolf asked worried.

“Actually, I forgot to mention the fox flu passes pretty fast. I'm fully recovered now.” Fox said casually, resting a hand on his hip.

“Oh,” Wolf said, he looked away awkwardly before making eye contact with the fox once more. “Well, I'm uh, glad you feel better.”

“Me aswell my dear friend, that was a horrific cold.” He said, then he reached out, squeezing the others shoulder, a smile spreading across his face. “But I'm so thankful I had someone to, help me recover… who knew you were so good with your hands~”

The wolf's face exploded in darker shades of blush, his mouth went slack at the fox's bold teasing.

“I, uh— Fox, you…” Wolf stumbled over his words.

Simon and Barry only looked on in confusion, not really understanding what was going on.

Fox could only watch, his smile never faltering as he looked at the very flustered wolf.

“Dad? You okay?” Barry asked, his eyebrow quirked up.

Fox's smile only grew wider. ”Yes Wolf, are you alright?” His tone playful.

Simone who was beside his brother shook his head also equally confused. “What did he mean by hands?”

Wolf growled in annoyance, his face still hinted at his flustered state, this Fox would be the death of him.

“I'm fine. Don't listen to Fox, he was just joking,” Wolf explained to his sons, giving the fox the side-eye.

“Yes, I'm quite the joker.” Fox agreed, eyeing the wolf right back.

The kids only watched this with further confusion but took there father and Mr. Fox’s word for it.

The weird staring contest was than broken by Fox who shrugged his shoulders as he made his way to the door.

“Well, as much as I would like to continue this, I have some future plans to make for a quite pesky rabbit. I do hope you all have a wonderful rest of the day, but I'll be seeing myself out now, ta-ta.” Fox said waving to them over his shoulder. He then made eye contact once more with the wolf giving the other a sly wink before walking out of the room, a faint chuckle could be heard down their hallway.

The kids waved goodbye, not noticing there fathers completely shocked state.

Fox was going to pay for this.

“Hey dad.”

The sudden voice of his son Barry broke the adult wolf out of his thoughts.

“Yes, son?” Wolf sighed, mentally exhausted .

“Is Fox pregnant?” Barry asked, innocently.

Silence filled the room.

“...what?”

“Lucy told me the other day being pregnant gives moms morning sickness, and this morning Fox seemed pretty sick. Are we gonna have a baby brother?” Barry asked, excitedly.

Fox was definitely going to pay for this now.

It took the wolf a solid thirty minutes explaining to the boys that Fox was not pregnant, and also that the other was not their new mom.

During this time Wolf could only think about that sly Fox who caused all of this in the first place, probably at home peacefully making plans while Wolf had to stand here trying not to rip his fur out as he explained to the boys how Fox can't be pregnant without digging to far into the subject itself.

He would have his revenge.
