Chapter Text
The sun-rays peaked through the window of their small but comfortable bedroom.
Upon hearing the birds that gather in their backyard every morning, Hira rustles awake in the bed. He stretches his arms above his head and slowly opens his eyes. Right away he is greeted with Kiyoi’s beautiful face, inches away from his own. He was tangled in the sheets with the love of his life, his King.
Hira always spent the first few moments of his waking hours admiring Kiyoi’s face - the serene look on his face, those slightly parted lips, the occasional eye flutter and satisfied ‘humph’ as he would snuggle closer to Hira’s warmth.
In the past, Hira had learned to cherish any interaction he had with his King, his savior- whether it was kind or rude, a glance in his direction or a fully fledged glare; whether it was saving up the coins he gave him for the ginger ale or just be hovering around him. He thought he would be able to live with those crumbs, keep them safe and close in his heart and go on about his mundane life.
But before he knew it his greed grew. His greed demanded more and more everyday. If he was a poet he would have spent his life writing about Kiyoi- his beauty, his grace, his kindness, his endowments, the way he walked, the way his lips moved when he said name, called him “creepy”, the way he face would scrunch into anger, the way his lower lip trembled when he is about to cry, when his bites his lower lip out of shyness, the way his cheeks would turn red with embarrassment….
He would have lived the life of a devotee.
But then on a normal sunny day, Kiyoi kissed him. Kiyoi kissed him first. That was when Hira realized that Kiyoi was real. Kiyoi was not standing on the pedestal he gave him. He was standing in front of him, looking at him in the eye, albeit a little too beautiful for a human.
And as the time passed, the want and desire to be close to his Kiyoui gave over his devotion.
Hira lifted his fingers to lightly brush them against Kiyoi’s soft cheeks. He leaned in to kiss his forehead….
BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ
.....The alarm goes off.
Hira jerks at the sudden noise. The tangled up sheets made it hard to get up in one smooth motion, but Hira didn’t pay attention to that. He tumbles down the bed with a low thud as he tries to free his feet from the sheets and turn off that nuisance.
“Oof,” he sighs when he finally stood up and turned off the alarm.
While Hira usually didn’t start his morning with this much chaos, Kiyoi secretly loved it. As surprised he is every time Hira acts like someone set a reset button to their relationship, he has learned to accept this side of Hira. He could always reel him back in.
Similar to Hira, Kiyoi had a routine of his own.
He would spend a few more moments in bed, enveloping himself in the warmth Hira left behind. Snuggling himself on his side of bed as he hears Hira shuffling around in the kitchen. The cool air around their home would turn warm as Hira could cook them an appetizing breakfast.
Today was going to be hectic day for both of them. They both had to leave early for their respective jobs.
Taking a few more seconds in the warmth and quiet, Kiyoi gets out of the bed to begin his day.
