Chapter 1: One day, I will stop falling in love with you.

Chapter Text

The harsh sunlight gleamed upon his face, forcing him to drag his blanket over his face. What an idiot he was, forgetting to close his blinds last night. Wifies' alarm clock repeatedly beeps, a torturous ring to his ears.

Slowly getting up, he brought his phone up to his face, the florescent lighting beaming right on his face, to disable the alarm, then softly tossed it aside on his bed.

His slim, pale hands rubbed his eyes, letting out a deep sigh as he swung his legs off his mattress. Wifies was incredibly tired. Exhausted. He had just finished a huge load of studies, and today he has more to await. Groaning, he picked up his phone again. He wished he could just stay in bed.

If that was the case, why is he suddenly rushing to drag his fingers across his screen, perhaps muscle memory, clicking on a specific phone number?

See, Wifies has this thing whereas despite many people favouring him, appreciating his work, all the positive stuff-- his inbox was purely dry.

He doesn't respond to that much people and merely leaves them on delivered, and his life right genuinely just being currently studying in university. Wifies is the type to observe, not participate.

...So then again, why is he eagerly reaching out first to someone? This isn't like him.

The thing is, he had met someone new. One that doesn't purely nag on his knowledge or force to bring to parties-- but a person that actually listens. A balance to his life.

Maybe it was the lack of similar people he'd encountered in life, yet he felt very much drawn to the his new acquaintance. Perhaps, yes, maybe it was slightly because of looks. The boy was charming, one could say.

Deep down, he felt a bit ashamed. Wifies felt as if he was really just embarrassing himself, bringing up his deepest secrets just to gauge a reaction out of the guy. Had he gone desperate?

Either way, his sacrifices of his dignity hasn't gone in vain, because it actually made them a little closer.

It had only been a month. A month since they first met and Wifies is already planning what to give on their first year anniversary: a bouquet of Daffodils, (the guy said he liked them) and...

...No, he is really getting ahead of himself.

Calm down, Wifies scolded himself internally. He is just a friend. One he appreciates a lot.

"Hi Derap. How was your sleep?"

Simple, yet thoughtful.

His fingers landed on the send button. He considered setting his phone down and going back to bed, but despite all of the thoughts, he just sat still and stared at their conversations.

The boy's name was Derapchu. He was funny, actually caring, curious, and very much cute when he unknowingly toys with the bright yellow rabbit ears at the ends of his blue hoodie when he gets nervous.

...He has to stop observing a lot. This is getting unsettling.

He perks up when he notices 3 dots dancing in a bubble at the bottom left corner of his screen. A soft smile formed at his face. Then a soft, low chuckle at Derapchu's response.

"hellooo darling :D just woke up"

Wifies' usual pale face, had a slight rosy tint to it this time. He caught himself smiling a little more. Shaking his head, he continued to read his messages. It was just a playful nickname both of them liked to call each other. Purely out of humour.

"it was nice, couldve had more hours of sleep though. yours?'

He is truly thoughtful about him, Wifies thought, already typing without even processing it.

"Same goes for me."

Not wanting to waste more time, he set his phone down for a little bit, and got ready. Wifies shouldn't distract his day with a fleeting moment of Derapchu merely asking how his sleep was aswell.

Still, glancing at his phone one more time, his phone buzzed yet again. Surely texting Derapchu for five minutes would suffice, how could 5 minutes of that waste his entire day?

Wifies had just realized it had been awhile since he had last set his phone down. He even caught himself walking around campus while texting. How could he get so irresponsible?

Though, maybe it was worth it. Because for the rest of the day, he seemed in a cheery mood, despite being all quiet. The entire time, he and Derapchu had been joking, flirting and just before he knew it, they had already planned to hang out tomorrow.

Tomorrow at 6pm, at their favourite spot at this cafe that had almost been threatened to shut down, still they came there anyways.

Perchance not really for the food, but because the cafe was angled at a perfect angle, because when the sun sets, it hits Derapchu's face in this pretty way.

So pretty, one might say, he was imagining him laughing at a joke he made himself, wiping the tears out of his eyes from laughing too hard, then stopping to softly smile at Wifies.

Ethereal.

Feeling his face heat up again, he sped up his walk, and headed straight to his dorm, rushing to bury himself with homework to distract his mind.

Though, did it really work?

Not really. He stopped himself when he noticed he was already half doodling on the corner of his paper, although he was not quite the artist, you could tell its Derapchu.

Huffing, he continued to write away, causing loud scribbles to blur out everything else. His leg bounced occasionally on the floor.

Mumbling and rereading the questions, Wifies thought he should just wrap it up and probably take a nap. That was definitely the cause, right? Sleeping it off should help.

Maybe tomorrow he'll stop being this in love. It wasn't right anyways. Wifies was a guy, and he was aswell. What would they think anyways? How shameful lengths he would go for a guy who probably didn't like him back?

Wifies walked towards his window, opening it up a bit for fresh air. He let out a deep exhale.

"Derapchu..." He mumbled out the window, murmuring as if the guy was even there, going to call his name back. He's lovesick. It was truly sickening.
