Work Text:
The houses were gone. The official house on the hill was gone. The whole empire Wemmbu had spent so much time and effort building was gone.
He flinched when he heard TNT exploding.
The demon just stared as the entire place burned into the ground, the smoke curling smugly into the ashy air, like it was mocking him.
A hint of a smirk curled at the edges of the Prince's lips, as he tried not to laugh. It was hilarious, watching Wemmbu curled up on the ground, utterly useless. Wemmbu, the infamous demon, known for being insane and powerful, was cowering at his feet. PrinceZam almost felt a hint of pity towards him.
The ruler had knocked the demon off the top of the hiearchy, stranding the poor thing.
It was almost funny, watching the demon scramble to salvage anything. Wemmbu's items and shulkers were gone. Wemmbu's netherite boots had broken, leaving him barefoot. Wemmbu was nothing. All of his power had been so easily stripped away, with a single order shouted to his royal guards. Wemmbu, who was known on the Unstable SMP for his violent nature, was utterly helpless now. All because of the very Prince standing before the demon's shaking form.
Zam had always thought someone as messed up as Wemmbu would have betrayed him long ago.
Wemmbu was a savage. He was a crazy, and bloodthirsty beast. The boy was ruthless, and killed in cold blood without batting an eye. Someone like him, was sure to have betrayed the second an opportunity came up.
And maybe, the Prince never thought that, maybe, Wemmbu would be on the other end of the blade.
Wemmbu was the reason he couldn't sleep, his conscience nagging at him that the demon would pull some sort of stunt. Be it betraying him, stealing his assets, killing his soldiers, or even destroying his civilization.
Zam didn't know. And he was afraid.
And that teeny, tiny doubt, grew into fear. It gnawed at his mind constantly.
"Wemmbu will betray you." "You're foolish." "Your civilization will suffer under his hands." "You can't trust him."
"Do something about him."
"Do something."
"Do it."
"This is for the better."
A small, little insect struggling to survive.
He hated insects.
They'd always disgusted him.
The way they were ever so small.
The way they were ever so delicate.
The way they crawled.
The way they were always so...
Insignificant.
He couldn't help that twinge of pride, standing before the demon like some sort of destructive salvation.
"Oh, my sweet, sweet, Wemmbu." He cooed, his voice sickeningly soothing.
And then, just like clockwork,
The voices calmed.
He could rest easy.
Wemmbu was like a grain of sand, drowned out by the crashing waves.
"You did what you had to."
