Chapter Text
This is the story of a Harry Potter who grew up with love surrounding him. He grew up surrounded by those who loved him the most, who did not abandon him and who rose above the circumstances that decapitated them in another time.
Here, Harry Potter and Neville Longbottom were raised by those who survived and clawed themselves out of the pit of the first wizarding war. And while clawing themselves out, they had lost some but had also gained some.
Alice Longbottom lost the love of her life, Frank Longbottom. She lost the one who fought for her, the one who vowed to lay his life down in face of any danger to protect her. She lost the father of her child. She lost her companion for life.
Sirius Black lost his freedom, in a way. He got help for the trial from the Black Family on the promise of him returning and taking the lordship of the house of Black. Sirius lost the fight of distancing himself from his birth family. He lost the fight to be known as a Potter, as something other than Black. But alas, the name Sirius Orion Black III was for the history books. That was what was fated.
Remus Lupin lost his trust in his Idol. That might not seem like a lot at first. But that stripped him of something that kept him going through the war, through the pain and loss. It hardened him in a way similar to the other two.
The three of them were survivors.
Together though, they also gained a lot. They had the gift, or privilege of raising and seeing their children grow. Watching them take the world by its head and ram it till it gave them what they wanted.
till the rot of
prejudice.
classism.
elitism.
exclusion
bigotry
was purged.
till the Wizarding World became good.
till change came.
This is the story of an insane revolution.
Perhaps that is what makes it so fun to listen to!
