Work Text:
He loved Kristian with all his might and when he proposed the offer of marriage last month at Gjon's own home, he just had to accept. They have been living with each other since mid-2024, been in a relationship since 2022 and went public only when their engagement photos were already framed and put up in their room.
And as much as he loved him, sometimes he kept small secrets from him.
They weren't anything bad or serious and were more cute than harmful, but only ten minutes ago when Kristian had gone off to bed, Gjon saw a post from the official Eurovision Twitter saying that Kristian was apart of an interval act in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, something to do with celebrating 70 years of the contest.
Last year, Gjon had a lot to do with last year's contest, like it was an once in a lifetime opportunity. First, he was contacted to host, but he could never do something so big, so he declined. Then he was invited to the Euroclub to perform in the Eurovision Village just before the contest, and was also mentioned in "Made in Switzerland" a song from semi final 1. He finally performed at both the semi final 2 and the grand finals, which he was honoured to do.
But enough about what he was doing last year, why was his fiancé hiding that fact that he was doing an interval act this year?! Why?!
Gjon joined Kristian in bed but couldn't get to sleep as the thought still lingered in the mind. He decided to wake up Kristian ask him what the big idea was.
With his hands gently rousing him, Kristian jolted awake and made an alarmed noise, but let out a sigh once locking eyes with Gjon, "Geez, I'm trying to sleep..."
"So you're in this year's interval act and you decide not to tell me?" Gjon asks the second a half-asleep Kristian had woken from his slumber.
Kristian turned to him, rubbing his eyes, "Can we not have this conversation now, I'm trying to sleep?"
A reasonable request, but Gjon still wanted answers as he pulled his fiancé into a hug, "But I just want to know why."
"It's 11pm, let me sleep." He sighed, closing his eyes.
Gjon wrapped his hands around Kristian and grinned, "I don't think I will."
"Oh my God, did I piss you off or something?" Kristian murmured, sleepily laying his head on the pillow, right next to Gjon's hand who just had too ruffle his hair out of habit.
Gjon kissed him and asked, "I'm just confused. Is there a reason why?"
He pulled Kristian closer, who wrapped his arms around Gjon and let out a yawn, "Uh, no. But with everything going on I sometimes forget."
Oh.
Now Gjon felt like a prick for waking Kristian up and probably ruining his sleep schedule for the next couple of days.
Kristian didn't seem too upset about it since he was fully embracing Gjon's slightly too tight hug and was playing with his curly hair, which was usually what he did when he was in a good mood.
His silence was noticed by Kristian who leaned into Gjon's ear and whispered, "Sweetie, are you feeling guilty?"
"How do you know?" He asked as Kristian closed his eyes and put his head on Gjon's chest.
Kristian laughed, "I've known you for ages, it's not rocket science to know your emotions."
"And what do you mean by that? Are my emotions that easy to understand?" He quickly enquired as he noticed that Kristian's body weight had now shifted onto his chest.
He looked down to where he chest was supposed to be and saw Kristian out for the count, he had fallen asleep and looked absolutely adorable.
Stuck in an awkward position, he moved his neck to a difficult position and kissed his fiancé on the cheek as he then whispered while stroking his hair, "Don't worry about it."
